Teen, Young Adult and Adult Life Stages Longer After Patch «12...Next Go

Because on normal lifespan the teen lifestage is now 21 days long (it used to be1 3). Is this an intentional increase or a glitch?

ETA: the young adult and adult life stages are now also longer (young adult has gone from 21 days to 24 days and adult has gone from 24 days to 33 days.

Interesting. Maybe they did it for the High School expansion just to have more play time with a sim in HS.

@Arzekial that's what I am wondering. Then again, it could be part of the whole big aging glitch with the latest patch.

In theory it might explain the root of the aging bug. If they changed things there (which would make sense to give players longer in High School) it could have had unexpected consequences for exisiting games on alternate spans,

I don't know what it used to be, as I usually play with aging off, but my adult sim had 33 days. I think that's more than it used to be? The teens had 21 days.

My teens are now saying they only have 8 days.

On normal lifespan children and teens had 13 days and YA and Adults had 24. Don't know if any of that changed intentionally, but pretty sure the 8 days is a bug.

@MDianaSims previously, teens always had 13 days on normal lifespan. Adults and YA had I think 24 days? I will need to double check what it is now.

@Daephene do you have MCCC? There seems to be an issue where if you have mccc it will say your teens have 8 days.

Mcc has been updated. And the sims team added more time to the teens and adults for the high school pack.

Oh no, life stages became even more disproportionate then. 44 days for babies+toddlers+children+teens, 58 days for YA+adults+elders. Even if sim has a baby right after becoming a YA, they will be 4 days from becoming an elder when said baby is also a YA. Which is super unrealistic, in real life they would be like 40.

Even if sim has a baby right after becoming a YA, they will be 4 days from becoming an elder when said baby is also a YA. Which is super unrealistic, in real life they would be like 40.

@somewhsome I might have been wrong in saying that the other lifestages haven't changed. I thought they hadn't but I'll need to double check, I was mostly focused on my teens.

Ok I just checked and actually the YA and adult life stages have increased (toddler and child are still the same - tot remains at 7 days and child remains at 13 days).

YA used to be 21 days long but is now 24 days long. Adult used to be 24 days long and is now 33 days... I wonder if all of these increases are intentional or glitches. I hope we get some official confirmation/disconfirmation from the devs/simgurus either way soon.

Right now I'm taking advantage of the glitch. One of my stories is that one of my sims (Nancy Drew) kidnapped the Prescott sisters so they don't age without me knowing since I planned to play with those sims anyway.

It's now 21 days.

It isn't just the teen lifestage which has changed either. The young adult and adult life stages are now also longer (young adult has gone from 21 days to 24 days on normal lifespan and adult has gone from 24 days to 33 days. Those are some pretty major increases. If it was intentional, why weren't we warned?

I'm playing with aging off until this gets straightened out. Normally, I play on Long. I haven't and am very afraid to open my Main Save, even though i do have a backup copy of it. I have thought about switching it to aging off just to play it, but now I'm not so sure. Yikes.

I suspected as much, but I thought young adult was 24 days already? Not that it matters. It's good to see adult made a bit longer, as that does make more sense. It's still unbalanced, but oh well, default life spans never were realistic.

I thought that too but then MCCC seems to think the old default normal for YA was 21 days (but maybe I need to double check that). Either way, teen and adult have definitely both changed.

I've had the opposite problem. Normal and Long are identical to short.

I'm having issues with it as well...

I play on the long lifespan and it's showing that my young adult and adult sims have like 80 days or more left of their life stage when I have already played with them for 56 days of their current life stage. The math doesn't add up if you check how long each life stage should last.

This makes no sense since young adult and adults are also affected and they don't play in high school apart from one or two of them.

This was an intentional change, all age spans were changed slightly.

EA_Cade confirmed it on this forum too.

I wish they would have included it in the patch notes to make it clear it's not a bug.
