Hey simmers

In anticipation of HSY, here's the High School Years Build thread!! Feel free to share any cool builds related to the new pack.
I for one am very much looking forward to this expansion, I love family play and teenagers needed some love. Also really excited to see everyone's high school builds / upgrades when it comes out.

In the meantime, feel free to browse the awesome things simmers have made for My Wedding Stories, Cottage Living, Snowy Escape, Eco Lifestyle, Island Living, and Discover University. Or look at some renovated apartments here.

AquaGamer1212 made a thread, but it is focused on builds for Copperdale.

Maybe these two are different enough to coexist, I don't know.

This one is for High Shool Builds in any world eg Boba Tea Markets,House's with stuff from this pack etc.

I'll be using this shell as a Boba Tea shop for Magnolia Promenade. I took EAs Paddywack's Emporium retail lot and rebuilt it. I also changed how the front windows look but I wonder if it's worth making them curved. My plan is to put the new vending machine in the back.

I like it! The front looks similar to the current ThrifTea, but curved walls would elevate it! I also like that there will be outdoor balcony seating, what will you use the second floor interior for?

@AquaGamer1212 I think the game changer who built ThrifTea also got the idea from that EA premade retail lot. Just a hunch because I noticed that too. I haven't decided yet what will go up top. Sometimes I leave blank rooms on community lots for any clubs in the future.

Ahoy. Recently just bought the "High School Years" pack. I was looking at the Copperdale High School. No offence to Maxis, but I cringed. :# It felt to me dull and boring. :D;)

A fairly old build that someone made around 2017? For the highschool mod, that never worked for me. An excellent build. I have worked on it extensively, and once again am, having this time started to make it a functional "High School". Had it as a "Library" venue, "Teen Hangout", heh!

So much work to do, and play-testing. Yikes!

It is/was made for a 30X20 lot, so... on a 64X64, that leaves alot of ground surface area to build up with outdoor activities around the school. I will probably have to add at least one 'traditional' classroom with desks, chairs, and the teacher's desk and board at the front. I'm assuming the "principal's desk" is what functions as the teacher's desk for game-play? Like I said, this will require alot of play-testing just to be able to build up the lot as a fun, but mainly functional High School.

Sims don't really use autonomously any of the extra skill items you place on the lot, but they stay behind after school on the lot and you can use them to skill up if you want. The lot size is too much for what you can actually do on the lot.

The High School is lovely! :) Very great exterior design, and the observatories on the roofing are great. Very nice interior layout of each level and great basement gym and indoors pool area. Very nice furnishing of each of the rooms and lovely cafe area :)

Yeah, the default high school is really drab. I guess it wasn't possible to slip in the school from the video trailers.
I had no choice but to replace it. Fortunately, I was already playing a building that I was using as housing for a boarding school.
But it was created as housing, not the actual school, so I had to convert it for school use..

I'm sure you will find your school a much better setting than what we were given.
