I've heard conflicting information that if you don't touch anything or set any options in CAS, sims remain "bisexual" as they currently are. Is this true?
That seems to be the case. Although, I wouldn't necessarily say "bisexual" as that implies that it is still a sexual attraction. Sims have only ever been gay, straight, bi or whatever if we play them that way. They've never truly been actually bisexual.

From what I've come to understand, the feature is hard coded into the base game so therefore, it has no toggle. However, that does not mean that it is active.
Essessentially, all random townies will behave under the original settings whereas sims that are made specifically for any pack moving forward will have an orientation assigned to them. That means that a handful from each new pack may or may not have a sexual orientation other than pansexual, which is what we have now.
So for those of us who would rather have free-loving sims, from my understanding this new feature will have very little impact.
In fact, if I'm understanding right, those who wish to assign sexual restrictions to their sims are the ones who will have to do all of the work of changing everyone.
A question about this:
"How will this impact my game if I don’t change the Sexual Orientation settings?
If you change none of the Sexual Orientation settings, your Sim will romantically behave as they currently do prior to the release of this feature."
So my Sims will be 'Hetero' men and women if I don't choose anything, correct?
We should have the ability to toggle all these odd options to off. Because we can't my kids have told me my grandchildren are no longer allowed to play the Sims.

I'm glad they're adding sexual orientation, and I hope this is a baby step to a more in-depth attraction system later on (you know, one where we can use traits and physical attributes as turnoffs/turnons). Though, this does make the female werewolf beast form customization issue stick out even more as a side-effect. All of these great tools to customize our sims' sexual and gender identity...but female werewolves have their busts locked to flat and you have to pull the hip and waist sliders to maximim or near maximum to give them proper feminine curves when transformed. Thanks for the official sexual orientation options...now please fix female werewolves' beast forms.

One might think that a wolf with human breasts would draw attention first to the presence of breasts, NOT the absence of a tail. So “no tail” being the distinguishing mark for classic werewolves means their breasts are actually wolf te-ats.
That's not an answer, let alone an acceptable one. If I can make a bisexual female human sim with cartoonishly exaggerated bust, waist, hips, and behind, who is also able to get other people pregnant, then I should be able to have proper breasts and feminine curves on my female werewolf in her werewolf form. Period.

That opening scene on the romance channel is strong with the Downton Abbey vibes. Downton was out about that time, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was the inspiration.

I don't remember if there are LGBT romances in the channels and movies.
For example a gay sim may not be interested or less to watch straight romance movies.
It's been a while since I watched the TV with them when they watch that channel but I don't recall any LGBTQ scenes. I could be wrong.
Yeah that's why I missed the channel. I only ever let my kids watch slasher movies so they always see monsters under their beds. That way they have no choice but to rely on me to spray the monster away. That keeps them from ever thinking they can survive without me controlling them.
And I only let my teen watch the alien channel to remind him of a home he will never know and a heartless mother who only ever saw him as a science project. This one seems to backfire though because he always gets homesick from watching that channel.

I love this because it adds more realism and immersion. Will be using it constantly! Its so immersion breaking when a sim is one way , but acts another.

Well, someone posted a pic of the controls in another thread and it would be possible as long as you plan it out in advance so you can go into CAS to set the correct choices. But yeah, in theory.
It also misses the backfire of this embarrassing situation.
Well, with NPC's you can go into world map then manage households and edit the NPC that way. Just make sure that when you're done to move it out of your played households. Again, it's inconvenient but can be done.
