If im playing the same playstyle I played for months then yes i will get bored eventually, and i usually only play ts3 on a weekend and playing another game usually a mmo on weekday.
If you go to your simpage on the Sims 3 website, there are badges that you can complete. The site is no longer kept up as often, but you can complete badges in the game. I have been doing those when I have time. I have tons more to accomplish...try them if you are bored!
Is there a support group for Simming Addiction? I think I need it...
Why force yourself to play a game you are no longer really interested in...just quit. If you feel like ever going back you can, otherwise there's no point wasting time playing. Play or continue to play whatever game is fun for you.
For me, TS3 A.I. doesn't bore me and I've been playing 13+ years. What caught my eyes to The Sims (2000) when it came out was because around that point I was bored playing with dolls and just outgrew it and I wanted something similar but mature. Surprise when I walked past The Sims at a Best Buy staring the whole time before walking backwards to pick it up and read it. Been a Sims fan since or well from the 2000-2013 era anyway to this day.
TS3 isn't the only game I play but it is the game I have kept playing for the longest time because of its A.I., innovation and open sandbox nature.
“What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone
What doesn't kill you makes a fighter
Footsteps even lighter”
13 years of playing the same game is an amazing feat.
I see EA wants to bring Create-A-Style back in some form with TS5.
Now if they can just do at least semi-open worlds, I would drop The Sims 4 like a hot potato, even though I am concerned about the collaborative play.
The last bit of fun I had with TS3 was a bachelorette challenge.
A sim living on a farm/nectary with several potential mates, and building up the business to buy a posh mansion to live out a fabulous life together. There was a deep scoring system I used to pick the best match. It was a lot of fun running the business, building and moving them into the mansion, and the final dates.
It's crazy but I'm pretty bored with TS3 right now, eventho I'm a litteral beach (not the actual beach) for TS3. I just feel like I've been there and done that. And what's even crazier, is that I used to hate TS4, but now I'm actually having lot of fun playing it. Anybody else in that same position?
I know exactly how you feel because I feel exactly the same, even with trying new cc careers and all the amazing mods for toddlers lately, it just feels like I have been there done that and I keep most of the game on speed 3 nowadays.
The only difference is that when I try to play sims 4 I still dont like it and keep comparing to the sims 3 (the lack of open worlds and sims talking to each other from odd locations and keep changing locations as well during the talking). then I open sims 3 again but then I get bored. I have always loved the sims 3 all these years since 2009 but I think my simmer years are about to end.
I consistently oscillate between virtual addiction to complete disinterest on 3-6-month cycle. I play the game to death for a whole month before losing interest for months, then beginning the process all over again.
Comments
I play both the sims 2 and 3 which are very different, so that keeps me entertained.
When I want a break, I play music/rhythm games or platformers such as hat in time, Mario, etc.
I also enjoy the occasional rpg, open works game, rts, etc.
Terrific Family Play
Too fun
The sims 2 forever
