This is Mariana. She's a new mermaid in Sulani and I haven't had much time to play as her yet but so far, she's a part of the effort to clean Sulani and has joined the Conservationist career. She has a crush on the local lifeguard, Parker, who has ambitions to travel to Selvadorada as an archeologist, but he just doesn't have the money to go yet (though his mother has 6 million he wants to me a self-made kinda guy). As for Parker, who's human, he's not ready to settle down just yet but I have a feeling they'll be good for each other when the time is right. So, both of my current meresims just need more gametime but I'll be able to give more updates that way since they don't have much of a back story just yet
This cutie pie is my mermaid, her name is Serenity Davies:
She's the sim I made for the 'no skills, no problem' scenario and she lives in Sulani (of course). She is going to become a conservationist, I hope. I don't know if any skills are needed for that career, if so then she could have a problem lol.

Merfolk also naturally develop the fitness skill very quickly.
Personally, I haven’t done any of the scenarios so I don’t know the rules.

@wahini2024 she looks amazing. I look forward to more updates!
And I understand the self-made aspect. I think Dylan and Zeph feel the same way, but they already completed the fabulously wealth aspiration and the mansion baron aspiration.
Calum has done a good job setting his children up for success!
@wahini2024 I didn’t see Koa. I can see how he won the challenge. He’s got the looks to back up his natural mermadic potential for romance.
I’ve had two of my mermen build a huge romance bar while I wasn’t playing them. It’s only happened once, and of course, it had to happen with one of my main mermen, Dylan.
I didn’t go with the romance because it was kinda an odd situation. I’ll introduce him in my next update.
Reef Kailani is Dylan’s Uncle, but I forgot to set up the relationship status after I started a new save. So, the game didn’t recognize Reef as Dylan’s uncle, and because Dylan is bi, he built almost a full romance bar. I watch my merfolk, even when I’m not playing them, and I never saw that romance once.
After going into CAS to update my merfolk to dress the way I want them to in Sulani. I learned that Reef developed a dislike for the color yellow and his wife developed a like for the color yellow. The only thing I can piece together is that a rift formed between Reef and Sara when it came to a favorite color, and somehow, maybe, Reef or Dylan initiated a romance with the other. It’s just a really strange scenario.
So, following the same theme as my previous introduction post. Here's my Second and Third Merfolk Legacies.
The First Legacy is my Zalrian Legacy. The Zalrian Legacy isn't a Traditional Legacy, the family has simply grown with normal Gameplay, but the Zalrian Legacy is getting a theme. It starts with the deceased Sapphire Queen, then the Sapphire King, followed by the Elementals, then the Twins and Sora.
The Kailani Legacy is closely connected to the Zalrian Family. Reef Kailani is the Adopted Son of the Sapphire Queen and Kemps and Calum's younger brother. The Kailani's are a noble merfolk family that maintain the oral history of all merfolk. The responsibility for remembering reef merfolk stories, culture, traditions, and history falls on the Kailani Heir. This Legacy is much more traditional the First Born or First Adopted is normally the heir. Zalen is an exception to this rule. Oddly, much like the Zalrian Legacy, the Kailani's have never had a Daughter. I didn't influence gender, but this is another merman Legacy.
The Third Legacy is a challenge I created for merfolk, and you can find the rules for it in my main thread for my merfolk stories here:
Note: I'm progressively adding spoilers as I progress through the challenge to make the thread less picture and text heavy.
The Heirs are already premade and I've test played all of them except the Purple Tail Prince. This legacy can work in the traditional sense, but I'm not playing the challenge I created in the traditional sense.
The Kailani Legacy: The Reef Merfolk Lore Keepers
Important Note: All Kailani Mermen are shirtless in their human form just like they are in their merman form. A more detailed explanation is in the spoiler.
I consider my merfolk's merform to be their true form and design all of their outfits around how they look as mermaids and mermen. The main reason for this has a lot to do with how I use cheats. I use the cheat Traits.Equip_Trait Trait_OccultMermaid_MermaidForm frequently. What this does is it makes the merfolk take their mermaid or merman form outside of the water or in situations that they wouldn't normally change form.
Storywise, the shapeshifting process changes their legs into a tail. They only wear skirts for bottoms because that form of clothing will survive the shapeshifting. But, if they are wearing a human shirt, they would still be wearing the shirt in their human form. My biggest problem is that I can only create 5 outfits for my Merfolk in their true form. I have 8 different Outfit Categories that I can't create in their merform.
Ultimately, I decided to make all mermen that live in Sulani shirtless in their human form because they are shirtless in their merman form. The merfolk in Sulani spend 90% of their time in swimwear anyways, so I resolved my problem by making the shirtless outfits typical for anyone from Sulani. Again, if I could create more outfits in their merform, I would do something different, but for now, all 8 Categories are replicas of what my mermen and mermaids wear in their merform. It's not ideal, but given the limitations, it allows me to change them into their merform at will without having to explain where their shirt went. Mermaids require certain standards that make it hard to do the same thing.
The First Lore Keeper and Legacy Founder: Reef Kailani
As said in his title, Reef is the Founder of the Kailani Legacy. The original save I played him in broke when I got Eco Living, so I transferred him into my main save from the Gallery. Most of my merfolk from the Zalrian Legacy and Kailani Legacy have been transferred from older saves that broke because of major glitches. Sometimes, this leads to accidental relationships developing such as Reef and Dylan's romance bar if I forget to rebuild the Genealogy. While Reef wasn't originally a merman, he is now 100% a Reef Merman.
Reef's Wife: Lady Sara Kailani
The Second Lore Keeper: Kylen Kailani
Kylen inherited his father's tail color in the same way all merfolk do.
Kylen is gay, and I discovered this when I noticed him frequently showing up on the same lot as Dylan and Zeph. While playing rotational, I watch what my merfolk do, and it seemed that Kylen had an interest in my Main Twin Mermen. I could almost see Jealousy when they engaged in romance if he was there. Dylan and Zeph are almost always together, so I couldn't tell you which twin caught Kylen's eye for certain. I suspect that his crush was Dylan. Ever since he married Aaron, he stopped showing up where my twins were. He's deeply in love with Aaron and I've never seen two sims fall so quickly for each other.
Kylen and Aaron adopted Lir and Kylen carried to term their biological twin sons Alex and Alen. My gay mermen and lesbian mermaids can try for baby. I forgot to change the setting, and Kylen had a terrible case of empty nest syndrome. Even though he can be at odds with his son, Lir. He's family oriented and loves his family.
Kylen's Husband: Lord Aaron Kailani
Aaron is Kylen's soulmate. He's always there to support his husband, and he's a voice of reason and mediator whenever Lir gets into an argument with his Father, Kylen. He loves his husband and his sons. When Lir was abducted by a Darkfin, he and Kylen, stepped in to get their son out of trouble.
Lord Rylan Kailani
Rylan inherited his father's tail color in the same way all merfolk do.
Rylan is Kylen's identical twin. Rylan is a Genius and a Goofball. He's a spare in the Kailani Legacy. Unlike his brother, he's straight, and a bachelor waiting for the right mermaid to swim his way. Right now, he's more of a background merman.
One thing worth noting, he autonmously changed into a skirt from a kit when he went for a swim. My noble merfolk now wear different versions of that skirt in their human form for swimwear. He's become a bit of a trend setter. I have him as a conservationist in Sulani. The Conversationist Career is one of the Greatest Responsibilites any noble merman or mermaid can take. It is the responbility of all Noble Merfolk to protect the the worlds, including vulnerable ecosystems like the ones found on Mua Pel'Am.
The Third Lore Keeper and Abalone Prince: Lir Kailani
Lir is one of the protagonists of the Immortal Merfolk legacy. He's the adopted son of Kylen and Aaron, but he's also a decendent of the deceased Abalone King. The merfolk royal families weren't reestablished the same way they were when the kings and queens were murdered by the Darkfins, Sirens of the Sea. Lir is on a mission to find the lost Princes of Sulani. As a teen, Lir often got in arguments with his Father Kylen. Their relationship has since been good, and as an an adult, Lir finally understand where his father was coming from. He cares deeply for his family in much the same way Kylen does.
Lir has a lost Twin Brother. His location is unknown. Twins are very common among reef merfolk.
Lir's Wife: Krista Kailani
Lir met Krista when he tried to run away from home. He and Krista have a solid relationship and often support each other. Krista is still new to the story and has developed as much as a character.
When Krista was in a household with Sefina, Cecelia, and Maria. She autonamously adopted Maria as her caredependant before Neighborhood Stories.
Lord Alex Kailani
Because Kylen carried him and his twin to term, Alex inherited Aaron's Tail Color. Alex and Alen are Fraternal twins, but their only physical difference is their hair color in their human form. Otherwise, they are identical in their merman forms. Alex and Alen are Lir's younger brothers.
Lord Alen Kailani
Because Kylen carried him and his twin to term, Alen inherited Aaron's Tail Color. Alex and Alen are Fraternal twins, but their only physical difference is their hair color in their human form. Otherwise, they are identical in their merman forms. Alex and Alen are Lir's younger brothers.
The Fourth Lore Keeper: Zalen Kailani
Zalen inherited his father's tail color in the same way all merfolk do. Even though Lir was adopted, Zalen is the next Heir and inherited the Kailani name. If Lir died, he would inherit the title, Abalone Prince.
Lady Maria Eldora
Krista and Lir's adopted daughter and Zalen's older sister. Even though Maria is older, she was an unexpected product of rotational gameplay. I chose to not to make her a heir because of how she joined the Kailani family. She did not inherit the Kailani name.
The Island Fire Dancer: Calden Azure
Calden is Sulani's Resident Celebrity. He's a natural fire dancer, but that's not the oddest part. I created him to try rags to riches without leaving the ocean. I never expected him to be a natural at Fire Dancing.
Storywise, shapeshifting never came naturally to him even though he's been a reef merman all his life. He constantly worries about accidentally turning back into a merman on land. Despite that, he loves to fire dance and made an effort to learn how to shapeshift, with help from Kemps Zalrian.
The Third and Final Legacy of my Save is the Immortal Merfolk Legacy. This Legacy is made up of 8 Merman Princes with different tail colors, and they are the focus of my current story.
The White Tail, Abalone Prince, and Founder: Lir Kailani
Focus:Parenthood Game Pack
The First Blue Tail and Sapphire Prince: Dylan Zalrian
Focus:Island Living Game Pack
The Second Blue Tail and Sapphire Prince: Zephyr Zalrian
Focus:Jungle Adventure Game Pack
Finally, the next Prince fast approaching in the story is:
I was sort of playing her, was it obvious enough this is the pancakes household? I changed Iggy's name to Jason, I got them together for the end of Llama day one of my usual summer holidays.
A mermaid, a werewolf and a human make a cuddly family.
Reddestiny921 on the gallery...still not sure if I capitalized the second d..lol
All the sims err'day

Wait, so Eliza is a mermaid and Bob is a werewolf?!
What will Jason become I wonder, if he becomes something?
@RedDestiny92 How does Eliza handle herself around Bob?
Also, what’s Eliza’s singing level. One of my favorite things to do in front of Bob is have Dylan or Zeph sing Pancake’s End, it gets such a funny reaction. The singing skill actually has songs related to the Pancakes at different levels.
Edit: But if Bob was a werewolf in my game, I don’t know what he would do if I did that. Lol
@Metior_Ice you have a huge cast of very cool meresims! It makes me want to interact with mine more now
Also thank you, I'm quite fond of my little sweetheart Koa though I forgot he has slob trait which might have saved him from so much drama. Adley doesn't seem to mind and he is quite a funny and romantic sim all around (even without the romantic trait)
I also really need to get their story started lol but I can't stand building. I just redid half of Hob so I'm burnt out. But soon I'll post their update and Mariana and Parker as well.
Parker is the grandson of Diego Lobo as well so him being a lifeguard with the amount of wealth in that family is a fun starting point. He's also gifted from every childhood aspiration as well. But for now he's living that part time beach life
@Metior_Ice indeed I'm not sure if new babies will be stable or not but he may just grow up and want to be a vampire we'll see I suppose I don't know usually when I do anything with singing skill I would cheat it cause I like to listen and I can't remember if I gave her one. Maybe she'll need to sing to him.

@wahini2024 That’s only two thirds of the merfolk in my game. I still have to introduce the other three families in the Mua Pel’Am Pod. I’m thinking Wade’s boyfriend will be one of the teen merboys from the other families. The fourth generation of merfolk only has one mergirl, and my game can’t support the creation of a new mermaid.
————————
When I started this post, I started thinking about how I ended up with so many merfolk:
I started my first generation with five mermen:
Kemps, Calum, Reef, Fin, and Helios
The mermaids: Isla, Arihi, Sara, Andria, and the premade Kalamainu’u were either created to become or became the wife of these mermen.
Then, I created Anas to be Nalani’s Brother and made Nalani a husband, Hawea. Nalani, Anas, and Hawea help Kemps run a retail store.
Fin and Andria help supply stock for the store.
I turned Makoa Keahloha into a merman pretty quickly.
I also created the antagonists in my story: Sarah, Flaira, Volcana, Nyx, Freddy, and Archer
Dylan, Zephyr, Juniper, Kylen, and Rylan because my mercouples only had merboys.Ember and Jade are elementals that didn’t make sense turning into mermaids.
Then, I created Fin and Andria’s son Lyric. I think I was planning to start another merfolk Legacy and never did anything with them.
Cecelia was a mermaid generated by the game. The game does create merfolk that aren’t the original premades. Cecelia was a Townie Mermaid.
Sefina later became a mermaid, but she was also originally a townie in Britechester.
I created the Merman Princes: Jack, Alen, Aiden, Jason, and Akira around the same time.
To help Alen with a vet clinic, I created three more merfolk, but I can’t remember their names.
I ended my second generation of merfolk with:
Dylan, Zephyr, Juniper, Lyric, Cecelia, and Sefina, Jack, Alen, Aiden, Jason, Akira, and the three merfolk vet techs.
My third generation of merfolk started with:
Lir and Eos because Kylen and Helios had merboys.
I created Krista to be Lir’s wife.
My third generation ended with:
Lir, Eos, and Krista
My fourth generation started with:
Calden and Maria
I created Calden to attempt a Rags to Riches challenge. I created Maria to be Calden’s partner.
Lir and Krista had another merboy, Zalen.
I created the Keahloha Trips: Kai, Lano, and Tero when Makoa and Lilliana tried for baby via the phone call. And Makoa and Lilliana had a half-mermaid daughter Lyla.
Dylan and Zeph had sons too: Barnaby, Wade, and Sora
So, the fourth generation is in progress, but that’s where a lot of merfolk in my save have come from.
I still have to finish giving the rest of my merfolk a makeover.
Honestly, the only rule is that merfolk are involved in the post. If you have let’s say, a mermaid or merman with a werewolf partner, That would be totally fine to share here.
When I get to it, I’ll be sharing an Alien Merman.
I even shared a picture of Kemps getting abducted by Aliens. Kemps is a merman so it was fine.
Actually, that’s something I need to remember. Aquatic Builds for merfolk don’t stop them from getting abducted because you can’t lock doors.
@SERVERFRA Another question, what do you see your merfolk do as you play with your werewolves?
One thing I noticed with my own merfolk is that they are active and doing stuff whether or not I play them. I’ve seen them play instruments on the side walk and at the beach. They free dive in the ocean too. Do any merfolk approach your werewolves while you play them?
I don’t have to invite my merfolk to hangout because my active households run into merfolk from other households in passing.
One of my oldest saves is my Sulani family. I've played the save since just before Island Living came out in anticipation for mermaids. I play one household there, which is a merman and spellcaster couple and their clueless YA son Flipper who's never going to move out or find anyone to put up with his tomfoolerly. He can get girlfriends, it's just that he can never keep them because, well, let's just say he isn't playing with a full deck. His parents are stuck with him forever.
But this is Bubbles, he comes across as sweet and as friendly as they come but as you can see by the buoy urns in the background, he's not too fond of tourists. Yes I'm using the Deadly Siren's Call mod and I have years worth of urns littering the beach and water. Bubbles is quite protective of his home.
His son Flipper is a merman-spellcaster. I have so many old screenshots and recently changed computers so I'll have to hunt down some good ones of them up close and in the water. I have years and years worth, I just can't seem to find the ones I'm looking for.
But here he is, dancing with Greg. No I didn't plan it or make it happen. I had originally used this family to try and communicate with Greg, but he had run off. I thought he had gone back to his shack but it turned out he was dancing at the bar with Flipper.
I've never thought about mixing the Werewolves with Mermaids. However, I do have some scary looking Sirens (evil Mermaids). Is it even possible to have a Mermaid/Werewolf Hybrid?
On another note, I do have a Mermaid sim in one of my old households. She's Ariel based on The Little Mermaid & her fiancee Prince Eric.
I do have a mer-pire-wolf, he is the grandson of Bubbles but I am playing him in another save. There's 4 mer-kids in this family, but only Flipper was the hybrid mer-mage. He has a twin sister who is just a mermaid and she is the mother of the mer-pire-wolf. The other kids are all mermaids only but all live their own lives now. Only Flipper is still at home because no one else will have him. I took screenshots of all 4 kids that I'll share later. I just need to do a bit of editing. I have to go to my other save to get a screenshot of the triple hybrid merman grandson. He got bitten while exploring the tunnels and became a werewolf on top of already being a mer-pire. He uh, had an unfortunate accident. He tried to go swimming during daylight hours, which is not a good idea when you're part vampire.
@SERVERFRA There is a glitch that might make it possible to create merfolk hybrids without mods.
Because Mermen and Mermaids are essentially the same as human children and human toddlers until they are teens, the game can sometimes continue to think they are human when they should be a mermaid or merman.
My young merman, Zalen, was essentially a human toddler. I used CAS.Fulleditmode to skip the child life stage to immedietly start the merfolk game play.
It does bother me that the merfolk children don't have at least a merform and the ability to sleep in water. That would simplify my builds so much if they did.
Anyways, what ended up happening was that the game gave Zalen his merman form in CAS, but outside of CAS, he still had the human Plumbob and no merman form. As you can see, I fixed it before trying to create a hybrid. I can't use mods, so I didn't want to risk a bugged merman.
My alien merman is a Half-Alien that I turned into a merman. He can perform the secret alien handshake but doesn't have alien powers.
Just a regular day at the beach, pay no notice of all those graves in the background.
Or the ones in the water!
And here's the rest of the family. This is Flipper's twin, Sirena. She's the mother of the mer-were-pire who I'll have to revive and take screenshots of later in his own save.
And then there's Pearl who blinked. (Thanks, Pearl)
It does bother me that the merfolk children don't have at least a merform and the ability to sleep in water.
Maybe they are like caterpillars @Metior_Ice . More legs, for one.
Maybe, but it still makes certain build tedius because the parents can and will autonomously sleep in the water, but the children need an entire section of their home built differently to meet their needs.
I don't think I mentioned here, but my merfolk always have the following traits:
Steel Bladder
Forever Full
Iceproof
Heatproof
Great Kisser
Fertile
I want my merfolk to have a family, but their needs are very different from a humans. With these traits, my merfolk never have to leave the water to satisfy their needs. Human children do. Human Children need a Kitchen and normal bedroom. My merfolk have a completely different type of bedroom, and I don't build a kitchen because they don't need to eat food.
It would simplify my builds so much if they did have a merform and the ability to sleep in water.
I made the difficult choice to remove one of my merfolk families from my save. Fin, Andria, and Lyric will be removed from my save until i can think of a way to add them in. I have 93 played sims, and I'm trying to get rid of some for my two merfolk generational families.
For Wade Zalrian, if he ends up with a Boyfriend, I want it to be his choice.

Storywise, shapeshifting never came naturally to him even though he's been a reef merman all his life. He constantly worries about accidentally turning back into a merman on land. Despite that, he loves to fire dance and made an effort to learn how to shapeshift, with help from Kemps Zalrian.
The Third and Final Legacy of my Save is the Immortal Merfolk Legacy. This Legacy is made up of 8 Merman Princes with different tail colors, and they are the focus of my current story.
The White Tail, Abalone Prince, and Founder: Lir Kailani
Focus: Parenthood Game Pack
The First Blue Tail and Sapphire Prince: Dylan Zalrian
Focus: Island Living Game Pack
The Second Blue Tail and Sapphire Prince: Zephyr Zalrian
Focus: Jungle Adventure Game Pack
Finally, the next Prince fast approaching in the story is:
The Pink Tail and Bándearg Prince: Jack Galleon
Focus: Cottage Living Game Pack
I was sort of playing her, was it obvious enough this is the pancakes household? I changed Iggy's name to Jason, I got them together for the end of Llama day one of my usual summer holidays.
A mermaid, a werewolf and a human make a cuddly family.
All the sims err'day
Wait, so Eliza is a mermaid and Bob is a werewolf?!
What will Jason become I wonder, if he becomes something?
Also, what’s Eliza’s singing level. One of my favorite things to do in front of Bob is have Dylan or Zeph sing Pancake’s End, it gets such a funny reaction. The singing skill actually has songs related to the Pancakes at different levels.
Edit: But if Bob was a werewolf in my game, I don’t know what he would do if I did that. Lol
But for now he's living that part time beach life
All the sims err'day
@wahini2024 That’s only two thirds of the merfolk in my game.
So, I ended my first generation of merfolk with:
Kemps, Calum, Reef, Fin, Helios, Isla, Arihi, Sara, Andria, Kalamainu’u, Nalani, Hawea, Anas, Makoa, Sarah, Flaira, Volcana, Nyx, Freddy, and Archer
My second generation of merfolk started with:
@SERVERFRA
And I love the name Bubbles for your merman!
On another note, I do have a Mermaid sim in one of my old households. She's Ariel based on The Little Mermaid & her fiancee Prince Eric.
And Dory
Maybe they are like caterpillars @Metior_Ice . More legs, for one.
Maybe, but it still makes certain build tedius because the parents can and will autonomously sleep in the water, but the children need an entire section of their home built differently to meet their needs.
I don't think I mentioned here, but my merfolk always have the following traits:
