I added more new houses around the neighborhood and forced some more immigration.
Loni joined the military, said her goodbyes, and struck out on her own. Here she is outside her new home.
The first thing she did was enthuse about her new treadmill...
...and take it for a test drive.
Hunter reached level 9 in fishing. Then he celebrated his birthday on the beach. He is an adult again.
Right after he became an adult, he mastered fishing.
Since Hunter mastered fishing, Shelby mastered logic, Loni mastered gardening, and Bryan mastered handiness, the town was finally able to build a science facility.
Shayne celebrated his birthday and became a teenager.
Shayne got a haircut and had his eyebrows groomed.
Hunter just had a scare with a mummy in the mausoleum catacombs.
@texansky I like your update nice houses, but I love Hunter I think he is cute. wow some fish he caught. I don't think any of my sims as long as i have been playing have caught that big fish congratulations to Huner. great job
I just realized I had these comments that I hadn't posted, so here they are.
Written before Loni moved out: I'm getting ready to have Loni drink the young again potion and set out on her own. I think I will have her join the military before moving out. With the IFs, I just moved them out unemployed. Brandi became a stylist, and Bekka is an investigator.
Brandi is married, has two children, and has retired. She just recently passed away. She was Bryan's IF.
@Evalen
So far, none of the Sims in my game ended up pregnant from alien abductions. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen.
Welcome to the family Patty! So good that she and Bradley are good friends.
That's a nice house. The layout is unique. A very open concept.
Sorry to hear that Amy had passed away.
I have learned that the pause key and the tab key are my friends when it comes to screenshots and closeups. I have been known to toggle the pause key on and off several times to get the right shot. Then I will circle around the subject to get the right angle. Finally, I use the tab key and zoom in for the closeup.
The imaginary friends come in handy when you need Sims to master skills. Shayne didn't get an imaginary friend. I was a bit disappointed.
@StephSteb
I'm glad to hear you are having fun with this challenge. I agree that the rules are a bit confusing at times.
As far as adding new people, the original rules said to have story progression turned off until the first child is born. The new rules don't mention story progression at all. I would say that once the first baby is born, that others may have heard about the survivors in your town and would start moving there.
I used the community garden in order to start their garden at the bunker but didn't even think to use it for them to skill up until their garden took off.
So Shannon is now a fairy. Sweet!
Poor Aileen, having been abducted. Glad to hear she likes nectar making and has taken up mixology. When she masters it you can add a bar to your world.
Adding an elixir store once someone masters alchemy is a good idea.
I've been trying to think what the requirements should be to add a consignment store. I can't think of any particular skills, but maybe once the town grows to a certain size. Like when the first child born in-game is an adult? They could open the store to sell the items they salvaged from the junkyard and fixed up for resale?
The family finally decided it was time to move aboveground.
Kitchen and dining area:
Livingroom:
Bryan and Shelby's room:
Shayne's room:
NOTE: I have decided that Shayne will be the next heir. So far, the second child of two generations has become the heir. Will the trend continue? Stay tuned and find out.
Brenna and Patti's room (AKA the kids' room):
The basement skills area:
I forgot to put the painting easels in the room, so they are not showing in the top view.
The subbasement used exclusively for displaying diplomas and award certificates:
NOTE: There is enough wall space for over 150 plaques. I wonder if I have gone a bit overboard with the wall space? I'm not sure I will be able to fill it all up.
I went on a CC downloading spree and didn't play for a bit but I am again and have an update!
Everybody has been working on skills...
And I was able to finally build a bar
A diner
A theatre
And a new house
Kirby is only 3 days away from aging up and Blossom has 5 days. Aileen and Alexander still have another sim week and are waayy ahead of everyone else on skills!
@Nikkei_Simmer all I can say is wow @texansky like your pictures your game is really flying, great Job @StephSteb Your town is coming along so nice. love the buildings.
I’m sure the residents of Sunset Valley probably had only one thing to say about my nuking them. 😁. Their reaction is probably not printable. 😁
I’m hoping to continue this narrative when I get my computer (the save is retrievable) but there’s going to be a time jump and an influx of new characters in the bunker namely “clones” and “kids”.
Always "River McIrish" ...and maybe some Bebe Hart. ~innocent expression~
@texansky I finally got caught up reading this and it's really nice seeing what you and @Evalen and @StephSteb are doing with the challenge. I'm not much on challenges, but I do like the idea of starting with an empty world and filling it up. I kinda did that with the Supernatural world, but with no restrictions from a challenge.
sorry I haven't posted but we had a bad storm, yesterday, no light, no internet and no phone. It just came back an hour ago. I am so happy. It is so different without, a phone, tv and internet.

The Lynn Legacy
Part 18
Evan Vargas and Loni Lynn have gotten married. At the moment, they are still living in separate houses.
Shelby's half-brother, Zane Rasmussen, and Bekka Friendly have had a daughter named Ariane Friendly-Rasmussen. She was born an IF.
The aliens were hanging out above the junkyard. The spaceship never appeared.
Evan and Loni Lynn-Vargas have moved into Gift House ( @CravenLestat ).
He appears to be writing a novel.
That's not how you climb a ladder, Bryan!
Hunter donated some books to the town hall for the future library.
He decided it was time to move out. Perhaps he will have a second family. I hope he will be happy.
Hunter enters Hunter's Retreat, his new home.
This is the first thing he did when he moved in. He has the disciplined trait, so I thought he might like a training dummy and board breaker.
Shelby mastered charisma. Brenna is only at level 8 in logic, so we will have to wait to build the school.
Patti mastered gardening.
Hunter is painting on his front porch, which faces the ocean. He is in a relationship with Karen Goodrich and things appear to be progressing nicely.
Karen Goodrich is a Top Gun in her military career.
Brenna just celebrated her birthday and became a young adult.
Patti also aged up to a young adult.
Hunter Lynn and Karen Goodrich are engaged!
Nice pictures, I see Hunter is still cute.
Is Dexter falling in love

@Evalen
It sure looks like Dexter is falling in love. Love is not just for the young. He looks happy.
Look who is having a Birthday, it is Patty's Birthday
Patty is now a teen
A Birthday hug
@Evalen
Happy Birthday to Patty! She grew into a pretty Sim.
Of course my Apocalypses tend to be nuclear holocausts so well, everything tends to get all blowed up real good.
and that makes rebuilding real tough for quite some time.
That would be a real tough rebuild the world scenario, wouldn’t it? 😁🤣

I wouldn't want to rebuild that. But I bet you had fun blowing it up!
@StephSteb
Your Sims have been hard at work on their skills. Nice house!
@Nikkei_Simmer all I can say is wow
@texansky like your pictures your game is really flying, great Job
@StephSteb Your town is coming along so nice. love the buildings.
Always…. 😁 blowing up stuff is fun. (I really should go see a psychiatrist about that)
it’s a nice combination of having photoshop and looking at reference photos of actual nuclear explosions to render a somewhat passable facsimile.
I’m sure the residents of Sunset Valley probably had only one thing to say about my nuking them. 😁. Their reaction is probably not printable. 😁

The town now has a Bristo
Time at the Beach
Watching the stars togethr

The Cowboy and the Mermaid
They wasted zero time and got married right away
Shannon and Blossom both mastered sculpting so I was able to build an art gallery by the diner and theater
Here's my town now, it's coming along
And that's the tea on my survivors!
