Oskar is really reverting back to his pre-vampiric state! 😱 If he really returns back to the exact state he originally was before turning, will he be sick of that illness again? Also, he seems very annoyed (or unprepared) at the idea of returning back to a normal "human metabolism", the only thing he seemed to sort-of enjoy was the mirror reflection (and, maybe, the idea of being able to be out in the sun). I really don't know what to expect from the evolution of this situation...
Reynold got a lot of tricky visitors this time instead, the tough life of church people I guess. The conversation with Eli was particularly funny to read XD Good to see Eli and Dani "enjoying each other company" as well, even if that is another storyline I don't really know what to expect (and which makes me worry quite a bit...)

Hi hi! Apologies if this is somewhat out of place! I didn't want to bump your old thread, but I decided to dive into this series starting with The Sun and Her Fire, which I have just finished reading!
I adore the amount of care and thought you've put into taking elements from Realm of Magic, and fleshing out the lore into a much bigger world-building project. TSaHF was an excellent introduction to Áine and the magic system in place, and I'm excited to learn more! Morgyn's character development was also very intriguing -- the impact of being a magical prodigy, and over time succumbing to darker/egotistical thoughts and tendencies, felt like a very natural progression -- I have to admit I sat straight up in my seat when they went from "oh what would be a nice homemade gift for mom?" to preforming necromancy in the next scene.
It's obviously going to take me a minute to get caught up, but I've enjoyed the first story immensely and definitely have Divided on my radar. Looking forward to reading more!
@DeidreMahariel Thank you so much for reading + commenting! I'm glad you enjoyed it! BTW, there's a recap chapter of Untamed if you wanna skip straight to Vitriol after. I appreciate you reading so much it's nice to have someone new on board!
OH MY GOSH TSAHF is just so darkly hilarious sometimes, especially the 'Happy mother's day here's your dead daughter resurrected!' A box of Milk Tray would have done nicely Morgyn... Oh yeah the lore-building is fun, though hard to keep consistent...For me I cannot separate Morgyn from that sort of 'prodigal teenager who ends up getting sucked into dark stuff' it is just so fitting for them.
@HermioneSims Thank you for your comments as always < 3
Seeing his reflection again will definitely make Oskar super vain I know it XD Hmm yeah it's difficult to know what to expect. Oskar doesn't know either. I don't think he wants to think about it just yet. In his mind, he'll just be human again, and will just live out the rest of his natural lifespan but we'll have to see how things pan out. Either way, another 20-30 years isn't so bad, he'll eventually get used to it < 3
OH the drama. THE DRAMA. Oskar meeting Gideon, Daniel trying to hide what he's gotten himself into from Eli, Dan trying to get himself out of it...So much DRAMA! And more to come because I'm mean to my pixel babies. : P I just had to have Eli ask about the Beltane situation. I feel like despite all people now know about Reynold, the 'So you did THAT in the grass?' is still what comes to mind immediately every time. XD

I'm afraid my comments are likely to be rather short for the next couple months. Work is wiping me out utterly. But this chapter is excellent as usual.
I'm mostly concerned for Oskar. Like @HermioneSims I am wondering what the state of his health will be if he turns fully human again. It kind of feels like he's expecting to die. Is the final candle he lights before leaving for himself?
I like how you depict the transformation, not happening all at once, but in stages. That's a really interesting way to do it. Oskar initially not recognizing himself in the mirror was a great detail. He wouldn't, would he? The last time he saw himself, he looked a lot younger.
@GlacierSnow Thank you for your comment as always < 3 And no worry! Your continued support is appreciated < 3
Hmm, it’s a bit of a mystery who that last candle was lit for. Maybe someone else in the past we don’t know about? Or could it be that his hopes to find Reynold’s father are low so maybe he’s lighting a candle for a potentially-deceased friend? And it’s interesting to think about how this might go. Will age catch up with him and kill him? Will it revert him to the exact state he was in before he was turned? Or will he be a healthy human being with another 20-40 years to go?
I’m glad you like the gradual change. He does look odd without his white hair and light eyes. Oh yeah it would probs be such a weird experience to see your own face after a hundred plus years…but there was also definitely a Johnny Bravo-esque ‘man I’m pretty!’ in that thought process somewhere. XD
As a heads-up to readers, due to IRL happenings and also the post-patch face bug I wrote about in the Storytelling thread Divided will be on a short hiatus (or long depending on when the bug is fixed.)

Oh dear. He’s turning back. From what I remember, Violeta turned Oskar basically on his deathbed. Does that mean that his death is imminent now, I wonder? Oh Eli, where would he even go to get checked up? There’s no experts on vampires in town.
Interesting how the feebleness from turning back immediately causes Oskar to change his mind on his stance on work/time. He was mighty annoyed at Eli not pouring all his time into woodworking just last chapter. Then again, I suppose imminent death is known to cause drastic changes. 😶
Reynold and Katlego both having bad visions for the future continues to fill me with dread. So does this: [You're the only sensible person left in Henford. You don't solve all of your problems by murdering people]. Something big is going to happen soon, and Katlego is going to be on one side of it. I wonder where Reynold will end up.
Oh, Eli. Thinking about what could have been with his mother because he’s scared of now losing his father, too. I agree with Reynold’s words, but they were a bit harsh, too. It’s normal to miss someone and wonder what could have been.
Naww. They kissed yes, Eli, you push that voice in your head right back out! Enjoy who you like without guilt.
That’s quite a leap for Reynold, to immediately think of a cure and then of Annoying. I mean, he’s right, but dang that’s some good intuition there 😮 Ooooh and we're about to see his father, are we? I wonder who that last candle Oskar lit was for. Himself? Reynold's dad, in case he did pass on? Hmm...

The reason for the immediate change of heart is actually because I didn’t even think about that until Haneul brought it up, and I liked her insight so I threw it in. I didn’t know if Reynold’s guess seemed too out of left field or not. I feel like the two who would have guessed such a thing would be either Reynold or Violeta. Eli is so precious < 3 and Dan. I feel terribly for them both ;-; Yeah Reynold’s words probably do come across as harsh but true there. Indeed it’s all very ominous as to whether that candle was for Reynold’s father, Oskar himself, or perhaps someone who we haven’t heard about yet- and it’s also ominous what or who those premonitions related to. Vengeance, a sense of dying, and the sun, moon and sword…

Oh no, that wasn't criticism towards Reynold, that was me being amazed by his high Insight score 🤣 I wish I was that intuitive, lol. He's got a good head on his shoulders and I bet his predecessor saw that in him from day one. 😄
It actually took me a while thinking who would and wouldn’t come to that conclusion to be honest. I don’t even know if Oskar has come to that conclusion yet!
