NOTE: this is a LONG STORY with FAIRLY LONG CHAPTERS, and it’ll be easy to miss things sometimes. If you don’t like longer stories you won’t enjoy this one. It's also fairly dark, so read all content warnings clearly.
Áine is lucky enough to be born in the midst of the witch-hunts, and she doesn't understand exactly what is going on until she sees the horror for herself as a child. Not too long after her twentieth birthday, she leaves her childhood family home to head elsewhere to start a new life- a much more difficult job when you are constantly having to look over your shoulder for people who want you dead. Áine is determined to try and make change within the community, and is determined to protect others like her from the ever-looming threat of the witch-hunters- no matter how many life-changing events come her way.
Though this isn't just her story, it's also the story of the many people she meets along the way- including a Peteran priest's eventual successor with more than a few secrets, a wayward arcane saleswoman whose trip to Henford turns sour quickly, and an ominous and enigmatic creature of the night.

I'm not sure when the next chapter will be yet- probably next week, hopefully at least.
Wow, poor Áine having to see that witch-burning happen. That’s bound to have an effect on her as she grows up.
I’m guessing you may know this already, but the name Saoirse means freedom, which is what all witches want; the freedom to be themselves without judgment or fear from others.
I looked up Irish baby names for the mum and dad's names, but it's such a beautiful language it was hard to just pick two names out of the bunch ;-;
I'm back to work on Sunday *sobs* so don't worry, chapter updates will slow down to weekly or biweekly from then on. I also need to actually do more story planning since I don't have as much of this story planned out as I should ^-^'
Your screenshots are beautiful.
And yeah, there are loads of good Irish names out there. Sometimes pronunciation can be tricky, though, so I often look up how to pronounce them so I’m saying it right in my head. And some of the names have different pronunciations depending on which bit of Ireland you’re in. For example, Saoirse is either “ser-sha” (like in fur) or “seer-sha” (like peer). The Saoirse in my game has a twin sister Aisling, which is either “ash-ling” (the most common), “ash-lin” or “ash-leen”. Pretty confusing!
The graphical aspect is really impressive too, both for the posing and picture editing side!
@HermioneSims Thank you! I'm glad you like it < 3
We introduce a new main character this time!
The addition of Reynold's POV makes me hope that he will be a continuing character in the story. I like him, and find his thoughts on his beliefs and the people he interacts with intriguing.
HermioneSims:
I'm very curious about the new introductions (Katlego and Susana). Reynold sure seemed uncomfortable when Susana showed up, so I'm wondering who she is to him.
Katlego seems cool. And funny. I liked her "try to come up with a good ship name" notes.
