Hi everyone, looks like hardly anyone plays Sims Medieval but I just happened to see it on Origin on sale half price only for a few more hours, and bought it for $20 (which includes the pirates and nobles one as well) and just got through the tutorial.

So I treated it like I do Sims 3, and saved as, instead of overwriting, and then wondered if I need to delete cache files. Are there any mods like NRAAS ones needed?

I'm amazed at how smoothly the game runs, and how great the Sims look. And also that I get to hunt, have sword fights, and all sorts of nasty medieval business like putting wrongdoers in the stocks, writing arrest warrants, signing executions etc? Regular Sims could never.

But a quick look online about game maintenance didn't show me much. Figured you all would know?

If we get no TS4 pack this Winter, I might grab Sims Medieval for a source of new inspiration It's 10 years old already, but I think it would be a good game for my laptop to enjoy while away from my TS4 game. But it's hard to find pictures and other stuff. I watched a couple LPs on youtube, and saw a few pictures but they were all mostly from the first gaming sessions, not really going deep.

My way of gaming is often story driven, and I prefer making most of the story myself. I get that Medieval is quest based, but I also read here was added a "Free play" quest which is actually not involving quests. But can I expect to grab screenshots and video captures like in TS4 - with no UI? I'm doing Machinima, not Lets plays. I also want some good captures to use with historical picture objects etc in my TS4, could make for great Museum exhibitions or ancestors wall etc.

So - is there any hide-UI mode?
Can I zoom up close when two sims chat?
Can I easily navigate the cam to get the better angles etc?
Can I re-access CAS once the Hero was created?
Can I switch from one Hero to another during the same game?
Is there any sense of a dynasty with a main heir etc? Say if my Hero is a Monarch, will the game be aware of a future Successor? I understand this is no generations game, but it would be nice if a King is aware of who is the Crown Prince, even if the Prince is a child.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, seems like all old forums are closed. The Sims Medieval is currently at §10, should be iteresting to more simmers than me

I started playing The Sims Medieval for the first time in ages and I'm having a great time playing it! I never got into it way back when because the interface was kind of clunky to use, I have the same issue with the rest of The Sims 3 but they fixed this issue in The Sims 4 and made the game so much easier to use. It got me thinking that it would be fantastic if they redid The Sims Medieval with the more modern UI (and graphics).

I really enjoy how the game is set up with the quests, the leveling, the different heroes and everything else, it just needs an update. The Sims Medieval is a really unique game these days in a time where the games on the market skew to what seems like 90% shooters and MMORPGS. It's refreshing. I don't know that I'd want a complete reinventing the Sims Medieval wheel but an update and new material for ceratin would be cool. Anyone else have ideas and thoughts on this?

Because more people respond to polls, maybe we can get more responses and interest generated for a request for a Sims Medieval 2.

I don't know if it has anything to do with the merchant or with this specific achievement. Is there a chance completing al achievements is bugged? Is it fixable?

I built the Market and created a sim I wanted to be the Merchant, but she has the title Shop Keeper. I have not got any Quest for playing her yet, but she was married to the Monarch and they have some children. I expected her to get a royal title when marrying and even moving into to castle, but she still works as the Store keeper. Is there any way to make her a Lady (eventually a Queen), will that be possible with some leveling?

I'm also a bit confused that the Monarch still holds the title Lord. Is this because he was not born a Prince, and the King title won't show up unless his son takes over as this Hero?

With the Noble pack added, I was expecting a way for the Monarch to hand out titles like Baron etc. But I see no noble titles a all, bar the Monarch being Lord. Did I expect too much? Or will noble titles be possible when the Monarch gets to a higher level? He is at 6 or 7 at the moment.

I enjoy this game very much, just realized that the community will grow beyond adding the Hero locations, just got the city walls and it's so cool seeing the place getting more busy

I like to establish both faiths in my kingdoms, always Peteran first when it is most needed, Jacoban following when the realm attains a degree of sophistication and wealth. And I have fallen into a habit of using Heroes over for a given profession, so that I have a stable of characters, each with their own religious tendencies.

By definition, the priest at the Monastery and the Cathedral each head their faith in my kingdom. But in general, my Heroes fall out as follows:

Peterans:
Monarch
Blacksmith
Knight
Bard
Physician

Jacobans:
Spy
Wizard
Merchant

Faiths compete for NPCs, although I generally have the Squire attach to the Jacoban church, who tend to focus on the wealthier residents. The Peteran faith focuses on the needy, only holding the Monarch and Knight by default of the Monastery having been in gift of the King, and the Knight responsible for opposing Yacothian expansion at the realm's expense.

Do you use both faiths? And, if so, what do you do with them?

So I was recently gifted this on origin, and I’m in two minds. It *looks* good. But I like the life simulation aspect of the sims. I don’t mind following the odd quest or mission if it is actually going to result in some sort of game changing outcome, but I also want to “live” life in medieval times, getting married, having babies etc.

Is that possible in this game or it is strictly a RPG type thing?

Cheers.

Hi!

I don't know if I can do this, but I bought Sims Medieval when it came out, but I never (I don't think) added it to my account. I have the game disk and box and code. I was trying to put it on Origin so I could play on my laptop that does not have a disk drive.

When I put the code in Origin it recognized it as Medieval but said I couldn't install there and sent me to my Sims 3 profile.

I tried to put the code in the sims 3 registration box, but there are more numbers/letters than there are slots for it.

Is there any way I can add my old Medieval game to my Origin account so I can play it on my laptop?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Dear Simmers , I came to crisis while playing my long forgotten sims medieval game ; I just can't help asking if there will ever be more of this game . Personally I think that this game has been quickly forgotten . Sure some were a bit disappointed with it being neither an rpg nor the classic sim game , but honestly I quite enjoyed the experience , artwork , quests and stories . I mean The Sims Medieval is it's own thing , and I quite like it . It's an original game , and I am really sad that it only has one other expansion ( it being : The Sims Medieval Pirates and Nobbles ) . Since it has been forgotten by many there is no news about it ever ( as far as my knowledge goes ) being risen back from the dead ... sniffles ... and so I was left with my own completed Medieval sim game just pondering about it ever being rejuvenated ....
I'm chasing a nostalgia fix during lockdown so I installed Sims Medieval. I discovered that the disk based version won't work in Win 10 but I was able to redeem my disk code against the digital download version. OK so far but I decided I'd like to try out the Pirates and Nobles expansion, which I never bought first time round. Here's where my problem starts.

It doesn't look like EA are selling the expansion pack alone but they are selling the "deluxe" version which includes it, or there's various disk based versions of the expansion out there I don't mind ordering.

So, if I order a disk of the expansion, is that going to work on Windows 10? And will it be compatible with the downloaded version of the base game. I don't want to order it if it won't work.

Failing that, I don't really mind buying the deluxe version from Origin but can't seem to get a payment to go through. My saved card details don't work even though they haven't changed and I got the same problem trying a different card for the first time. I'm assuming the problem is at the Origin end but I'm curious as to whether anyone else is getting similar problems.

Finally, I did come across a few sites offering free downloads of it. Two examples were Repacked Games and Ocean of Games. The sites actually look pretty legit but I'm skeptical of a free lunch. Are these aproved by EA or is it pirated software? I'm certainly not averse to getting free stuff but I'm generally anti-piracy so would rather steer clear if they're not legit.

Thanks for any feedback

Edit> OK, so this is a bit frickin' wierd. I just fired up the game again and Pirates and Nobles appears to be installed. I have no idea how or why. The only thing I can think of is something to do with trying to buy the deluxe version? Maybe that somehow unlocked it in my library even though it was saying the payment didn't go through. I feel vaguely like I've cheated somehow. Still... free stuff... I'll call that a win.

The Sims Medieval never really explains the Pit Beast kept at the Judgement Zone - it's just kind of there.

However, while I was playing The Sims 4, a child in my household got assigned a school project to build a Medieval diorama. When it was complete, the flavor text on mouseover specified "Sixam Pit Beast not included".

So TS4 has not only put the Pit Beast in a historical context for modern Sims (implying that TSM is in fact the historic past of that world), but now explains the creature to have originated from the Alien planet, Sixam!

I just like that the Gurus actually curate all this accumulated Sims lore, even from odd side-games like TSM, and continue to build on it, later.

Do you ever decide to forget a responsibility because it sucks? I refuse to bother with edicts - just go along with whatever everyone else wants, and I will not bother with the interrogation chair either - it wastes a whole day sometimes, trying to find the right combination of actions to break the victim. I will deliberately allow my sim to ignore a responsibility I don't like if I know I can fix it with a hot bath and a music box.

I don't know how much this may affect my slow crawl up the watcher scale. I also have to dump quests rather often because i can't work out how to do them, or I can't be bothered with them once I've given in and read the walk throughs and discovered how much messing about the quest demands, and I'm already about to lose a sim to the pit for failure.

TBH I find Sims Medieval the exact opposite of relaxing. I can cheerfully potter in my Sims 3 gardens and chill after a hard day at work, but Sims Medieval is just a manic, non stop frantic dash to keep up with the demands of the game. No fun at all. My hand is creeping ever nearer to the uninstall button as it's actually interfering with my sleep. I am now dreaming I am on impossible quests!
