Hello!

I've written a new story!

I don't know if people still read stories here? I used to do this back in the Sims 3 days and I loved it so much, and also loved reading other people's stories and legacies. I haven't been around for years, as life got in the way, but recently I've found that I've really been missing playing the game & coming up with stories for the characters and I thought I'd come back and give it another go on the sims 4.

Lucky Girl is about a girl called Evelyn who is spending her summer in a small seaside village with her two best friends, Kelly and Claire. While she's there she struggles for the first time with questions about her friendships, her future, and first love, as she meets a beautiful boy in a holiday house at the other end of the beach.

It's is not really a love story, It’s more about growing pains, and decisions in friendship and in love, and the way that it feels to be seventeen, nineteen, twenty one, the time in your life when everything is full of longing and life is busting with excitement and intensity.

I am writing it so that I might be able to put some of my own lingering feelings from that time into words. If nobody else reads, it, no problem, but if you do, I'll be super happy to have you on my blog!

I've finally decided to share with you my Disney Princess Legacy challenge!

I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy playing it!

Let us begin...meet Melinda Le Blanc, my Snow White and founder of the legacy: her hair is black as raven, skin white as snow, lips red as blood...well, you know the tale! :P

Life's tough at the beginning. Living on her own, with no family (yet!) and with a job that barely pays for food...Melinda has to rely on what nature has to offer..

However, she finds herself the perfect mate soon enough: just a second, and it's love at first sight:

Her prince charming is Florian Furst, a German handsome fella who lives with some of his friends from the Erasmus good ol' days....

The two love birds start to live together and, even tough they are broke and their jobs barely cover their basic needs, they conceive a child right away: the product of true love

But he is just thrilled about the idea of meeting his firstborn...

Melinda's pregnancy is going well, and the couple was even able to afford to build a tiny home for their soon-to-be family of three...

Baby on the way, baby on the way!! The due date has come, and Florian, like every respectable and loving dad...is freaking out! lol

Not too long after her twentieth birthday, she leaves her childhood family home to head elsewhere to start a new life- a much more difficult job when you are constantly having to look over your shoulder for people who want you dead. Áine is determined to try and make change within the community, and is determined to protect others like her from the ever-looming threat of the witch-hunters- no matter how many life-changing events come her way.

Let me just start by saying that I am NOT the originator of this challenge. As far as I can tell that honor goes to someone called Simslia. So far that I've seen, no one has yet adapted the rules to fit the TS4 game so I thought I'd take a stab at it. If you do play by these rules, feel free to post links of your challenges, I'd love to see how they go!

GETTING STARTED

Create a YA sim, give them whatever looks, traits and aspiration you’d like. Some like to play with the Erratic trait rule, I personally do not. If you do, then one of the traits given to your founding Torch Holder MUST be Erratic. They can be 'human' sims, aliens, mermaids, vampires, spellcasters or werewolves, your choice!

You will be playing on NORMAL lifespan.

Move your TH onto a lot. There is no restriction on which lot that can be. Build them a house, import a house from the gallery or let them live on the lawn for a while – whichever play-style you prefer is fine. This should be done with the standard 20,000 starting simoleons. Whatever you have left after purchasing property and house, that's your starting funds. If at any time you move in a single sim that brings an extra 20,000 simoleons into the household, it is PREFERRED that you use the money cheat to delete that (because it's kind've cheating for the 100,000 simoleons point gain, but I'm not going to enforce that one strictly). You may freely choose 3 lot traits for your home lot, but once chosen they cannot be changed. So pick wisely!

Find a spouse/baby-maker (human, alien, mermaid, vampire, spellcaster, werewolf). This can be anyone your sim can manage to woo; townies, premades, even sims you've placed into the neighborhood yourself just for this purpose. They must be asked to move in or married IN-GAME however, not placed into the household via Manage Households. Other than that, everybody's free game.

Once you've acquired your mate, have some kiddos. Adoption is fine, but they must be adopted as newborns. You are also allowed to create a child via 'science' as well. Adopted children and test-tube babies can be considered for the next Torch Holder.

When you receive the notification that it is a sim's birthday, you are allowed to age them up via birthday cake (see Free Actions below).

Now let them live their lives and try your best not to reach through the computer screen and strangle them as they commence to peeing themselves/passing out all over the place.

THE GOAL

The ultimate goal is to survive 10 generations of sims while only controlling one sim at a time, and keeping score throughout.

Each Torch-Holder must have at least two children. You don’t HAVE to get married, but doing so increases the chance for more points (and more failures). If playing with the Erratic trait rule then each child MUST be given the Erratic trait at some point. Otherwise all traits and aspirations should be randomized via the dice button and/or 3rd party randomizer.

Throughout the challenge, only ONE sim may be controlled by you, and that’s your current Torch Holder. All other sims must live on complete autonomy, to live (or fail) as they will. Obviously this means that sim autonomy should be turned on in your game settings at all times. When the child you’ve chosen as heir reaches YA, the ‘torch’ is passed to them and they become your controllable sim. Your former TH enters the mystical land of autonomy and you are never allowed to control them again. (Note - there are some Free Action exceptions to this rule, see below for details).

Once a child reaches YA and they are not your heir, they must be moved out of the household.

HARD MODE

If you'd like to take the challenge one step higher in difficulty then these rules should also be followed;

You are not allowed to utilize the 'Hand of God' (aka click-dragging items such as dirty dishes or inventory items). Anything in the game must be managed or manipulated by the sims themselves, either your TH or a life-stage free action of a NTH.

You are not--at any time or circumstance--allowed to hire a Nanny, Repairman, Gardener, Pizza Delivery, Maid or Butler.

You are not--at any time or circumstance--allowed to direct NTHs for modes via portraits during work, school or off the lot.

SCORING

The following is an updated scorecard, modified for changes in TS4 as opposed to its predecessors.

All toddler Skills at level 3 : +5
Skills (Child and Adult) maxed by NTH family members : +10
Children (Child and Teen) earning an A in school : +5
Positive Traits Earned by NTHs : +5**
Happy Toddler Trait Earned : +5
Top-Notch Toddler Trait Earned : +10
NTH sims reaching the top of a career (Teen and YA/A/E) : +10
NTH sims passing University classes with a grade of C or higher : +5
NTH sims passing University classes with A+ : +10
NTH sims graduating University with A+ in all classes : +15
Randomizing every trait and aspiration for an entire generation : +10
Not using spares' Satisfaction Reward points for an entire generation : +10
Every 100,000 simoleons earned* : +20
Immortalizing the Torch-Holder : +5 [This can be done in a number of ways. Write a biography (writing skill level 10), paint a painting from reference of the sim at 8+ painting skill, or take a picture with a 5+ photography skill in the Torch-Holder's honor. Done to remember your THs on through the generations. ]

*You can calculate total simoleons earned in 2 different ways. 1 - go to build mode, click on the info box and add the lot's total value to the family's simoleons on hand. OR 2 - go to your achievements and check the Rosebud achievement, which tracks how many simoleons have been earned over-all in that save file.

**These are in reference to the new earned traits from the Parenthood game pack. Negative traits are Bad Manners, Uncontrolled Emotions, Insensitive, Argumentative and Irresponsible. Positive traits are Good Manners, Emotional Control, Compassionate, Mediator and Responsible. If no traits are earned, then no points are awarded or taken away.

FREE ACTIONS

Every sim in the household has one free action per age category. (PLEASE NOTE : this is an EXTRA free action that can be ANYTHING in the game. This does not mean you can only use one of the following free actions per age-category. The actions listed below are ALWAYS allowed to be done whenever and however many times you need to).

You may choose to "Claim" a bed with every sim ONCE to assign specific beds to specific sims. This can only be done once. After that, they're on their own.

You may choose to quit job/retire for any sim you don't want working, and are allowed to assign sims to specific careers as needed.

You may choose to "Change Into..." out of sleepwear, (because I get tired of seeing them in their underwear/PJs ALL DAY).

If you have an alien sim, you may choose to change into and out of their Human Sim Disguise freely.

You may change tones while at work/school as needed. Whether or not they actually attend or leave early is up to the sims themselves.

You may choose to take vacation days or family leave for NTHs via the phone.

You may Choose an Umbrella from the umbrella stand, if purchased.

When you get the notification for infants that it's their birthday, you are to select the bassinet (with your Torch Holder) to age them up. When all other sims' age bars reach 0, you are allowed to click on a birthday cake to age them up OR click the cake with your TH and choose to 'Age Up...' (select sim). Baking the actual cake and adding candles is up to your TH however.

You may choose to take a Pregnancy Test with NTH female spouses to determine if there is a pregnancy.

Once a NTH spouse goes into labor, you are allowed to choose to go to the hospital and may then 'Check-In' at the front desk. All other actions at the hospital must be autonomous. If at home, you must wait for the labor to end naturally (the timer to run down on its own).

You are allowed to purchase and drink ONE youth elixir per sim, per lifetime. (HOWEVER, doing this with a NTH spare will negate the +10 points for not using AP in that generation).

New Farming Challenge

This is my version of the farming challenge that was originally posted for the Sims 3. I’ve made a lot of changes to suit the Sims 4 and now that we have the Cottage Living pack, this challenge will be a lot easier to start. I will be recording this challenge on my YouTube channel here:

For this challenge I will be using all the packs except the Paranormal pack as I don’t have that one. But the main packs I’m using are:
-Base game
-Cottage Living
-Eco Lifestyle (for dumpsters, bug boxes and off the grid stuff)
-Laundry Day (purely for laundry, wash line and tub)
-Seasons (extra garden features and bees)
-Nifty Knitting (if you want the country life feel)
-City Living or Jungle Adventure (for the market table)

At the start:
You start the game with either an elder and a teen or a teen and a child (I will be using the latter), $500 simoleons (use the cheat for money: control + shift + C > testingcheats true > money 500) and a run-down house and yard. The house can only have what would be permanent to it such as cupboards and fireplaces. The bathroom fixtures have been torn out because this is a challenge, right? I left the kitchen sink in the cupboards so if you have water, you can use it.

Rules:
These are general rules to go by. Of course, you can make it harder or easier if you want. It’s your game after all. It’s supposed to be fun. But feel free to add anything to this challenge.
-No cheats, except for subtracting money
-You can’t have a job, not even freelance or odd jobs. We are living off our farm.
-No university in the first generation
-no traveling outside of the world you live in for the first generation (example: Henford-On-Bagley). You can travel to the different sections of the world.
-Turn off autonomy. At least for the first generation.
-I will be using long lifespan, but you can use whatever one you want
-You can’t steal or sell stolen items
-You must take the elder or child with you if you travel, except for school
-Make sure to pay bills or get your stuff repossessed
-Teen and child must go to school and reach an A before they age up
-Length of season is up to you. I will be using a 2-week cycle (winters are long otherwise)
-You can only make money by selling at a market table or what cash found in the dumpster
-No Plopsy until the second generation
-Teen/adult must do all the repairs, cooking, cleaning and gardening. Child can water garden only and elder does not do any work. They can tell stories or teach though
-You cannot fix the house (wallpaper, flooring or decorating (except what you find in the dumpster) until the yard is cleaned
-You can only clean up 10 things per week. Pick the same day each week to do it so you don’t loose track. You cannot collect money from the things you clean up unless it’s from lightning.
-You can only go to the dump once a week. Again, pick the same day every week. You can use anything you find in the dump for yourself, to recycle or to have on hand for the repo person but you cannot sell anything that cannot go on the market table.
-You cannot go to another world to recycle or go to market
-You can sell anything you have made, collected or farmed on a market table
-You cannot mark up the price of for-sale items on the market table until the next generation and only one mark-up step per generation.
-You cannot fix burnt items from the dump as you would need the career to get the machine to do it.
-You may purchase items to reduce bills (example: rain collector and wind turbine)
-Once your teen becomes an adult, they may marry and must produce an heir for the next generation
-Once the child has grown up, they may marry and move out or stay, but there must be room in the household.
-Pets are allowed

Final Goal
-Clean and landscape the yard to look nice
-Have a profitable working farm
-Have $100,000 in funds

Since this story has grown so much bigger than I ever imagined I feel like its time to borrow a page from some of my favorite SimLit writers and offer you a synopsis of the characters and my thoughts on where to start for first time readers. With that said lets meet the cast shall we...

The Main Cast

Danielle and Londyn Huntley

Danielle(L) is a romance novelist. She was born and raised in Willow Creek with her lifelong friends Summer Holiday and Liberty Lee. She moved to Tartosa searching for her muse. She had seen all the stories about how romantic Tartosa is and she felt there could be no better place to inspire her to write thrilling romances. So she packed up and moved. Tartosa has been all that she had hoped for and so much more. It was where she met Londyn Huntley, at the time an actress from Sulani, and the love of her life. They live on the little island lot at the southern tip of Tartosa. Both are Starlight Accolades winners and their careers are really taking off, even though Danielle is currently searching for a new publisher.

Summer Holiday and Darian LaRue

Summer grew up next door to the Chabert's and Lee's. She has been friends with both as long as they can remember. Summer is a talented chef and with some coaxing from Danielle she joined her friend in Tartosa. Since she's arrived her career has taken off and she met her lover Darian. Darian was a Dotcom wonder boy along with some buddies in college. They decided to sell their lucrative Dotcom business to a larger tech company, pocket the money and take a break for a while. He arrived in Tartosa planning for it to only be stop number one on a globe hopping journey, but after falling in love with Summer he's decided to stay right here with her. They are about to launch their own web based cooking show that they plan to film in their home.

Liberty and Matteo Rossi

The third member of the Willow Creek expats. Her life was turned upside down by Travis Scott. He tried to take advantage of her and then lied to try and focus blame all on her. The fallout from that saw Travis booted out of the house, Summer finally answering Danielle calls to join her in Tartosa and left Liberty by herself in Willow Creek. She realized her dreams of being an astronaut were never going to happen so with a little nudge from Bella Goth she became a secret agent. On a trip to visit her friends in Tartosa she met Matteo and her life really changed. He was a hard partying play boy, or so he pretended. That lifestyle put him on the outs with his family and was threatening to wreck his dreams. He was instantly taken by Liberty and she saved him. They are now engaged and live in a lovely home overlooking the bay in Tartosa. Liberty is a star at S.I.M.S. where she is one of their lead investigators, and Matteo is back on track to realize his dream of owning his own restaurant.

The Supporting Cast

Allegra Rossi

Matteo's younger sister. She is fiery, feisty, sassy, and stylish. She lives in Windenburg and is a singer with the local opera company. She knows how to play Matteo like violin to get him to do things he should do but doesn't always want to. She is ready to slap sense into him if need be. Don't take that the wrong way, she adores her big brother and his fiancé. She has gone out of her way to welcome Liberty into the Rossi family. She currently lives in Windenburg and is a singer with the local opera company there. She dreams of one day coming home to sing with the Tartosa opera.

Izabella Bernard

Izabella is an aspiring businesswoman. She has plans to create her own line of clothing and makeup. She has worked as both a model and an actress to earn some money and make contacts to help her reach her goals. She also has a business degree so she is more than just a pretty face. She used her education to turn the money she made from modeling and acting into the seed money for a good life and to get her business going. She had a brief fling with Leonardo not long ago when she was in Windenburg, and later Tartosa, on business. She was unaware of his dating Summer at the time and she also thought she had seen the last of him when she returned home. Izabella is no fool but she admits she has a habit of making and choices in men, a trait she got from her mother.

Leonardo Ricci

A former friend and roommate of Matteo's who briefly dated Summer until she realized he was more interested in himself than her. He is a first class weasel and a raging misogynist who had his former friends in Tartosa fooled. After Matteo fell in love with Liberty they asked him to move out so that they could be alone together as they started their life together. Liberty had broken Leonardo's spell over Matteo when she rescued him from the party crowd. Quietly seething at Liberty and Matteo for ending his free ride on their dime he sought out an easy mark he could con into supporting him, Izabella. He turned up at her door recently full of charm and lies. He thinks because he got in good with Izabella once before that she will easily fall for his con. She took him in, but he's in for a shock. She's not the dummy he thinks she is. She has every reason to believe he's conned other women and she wants to put an end to it before he does it to her or another unsuspecting woman.

Hannah Taylor

A 5 Star chef who recently beat out Summer for the job of host of a new Foodie Network cooking Show. Hannah is Summer's shero and she works hard to open doors for other women to follow in her footsteps. She is going to mentor Summer and help her reach the same heights.

S.I.M.S. Director Shantel Bridges

Liberty's boss and a tough but fair one. She has a reputation around S.I.M.S. Headquarters as the Dragon Lady. It is a carefully crafted facade that keeps certain troublemakers in line or at a distance. The agents who work under her see a different side, but make no mistake she expects nothing less than their absolute best. If they give her that she will do anything for them.

Venessa Jeong

Londyn's friend and fellow actress. She is quite the comedienne and famously caused merry chaos when she officiated Londyn and Danielle's wedding. She later admitted to Londyn, that she intentionally, and hilariously, flubbed her part.

If you are new to this story after reading the bios above you can jump in anywhere really and not feel too lost. I will offer my list of chapters I think will help get you into the story and I will include the page number where it can be found.

I would suggest starting with Chapter 6 (page 2) where we see Danielle reveal the depth of her love for Londyn. Next I would suggest Chapter Fourteen Parts One and Two (page 6), this explains the rift that used to exist between Londyn and her parents and their reconciliation after learning of her engagement to Danielle. It is a wonderful story of mending relationships and acknowledging wrongs and coming back together in the spirit of love and understanding.

After that if you're interested in Venessa's virtuoso comedy wedding officiating you will need to read Chapter 20 (page 8). It's not something you have to read to get into the story but as time goes by I think her part gets funnier and funnier.

Sul sul fellow simmers!

The Miller Legacy is my first Legacy Challenge and the way I found to explore the (for me) new The Sims 4 game in the moment I decided to buy it. It's the translation of what I originally posted in Italian here, and the new chapters are being posted on my blog here.

With this legacy, I'm basically novelizing what happens when I'm playing my game, introducing as many mysteries and issues to overcome for my sims as I can. For sure, the Miller's are not a family like the others.

I'm not a fan of too strict gaming rules, thus my main rule is just: "reach generation 10 without cheating". This legacy is definitively more story-driven than rules-driven. So I'm not taking track of points in any way, often instead of choosing traits or careers randomly I choose what I think would be funnier for me to play or better for the story progression, I often move the family to new houses (not built by me because I'm a horrible builder) and so forth. In particular, I'm taking a lot of freedom about a certain cat, but also in that case I found a way for doing it without technically being cheating.

As for the heir, I don't follow a strict rule but just choose the one for which I can imagine the best character development and who can give more in terms of story progression. The only rule I'm following in that sense is that I want every heir to be the biological child of the previous heir, because I'm curious to see how the genetics algorithm in TS4 work over a 10 generations span (consider this as a small experiment :P ).

I'm closing this premise here because I don't want to spoil the story, so I wish you a pleasant reading through the most mysterious sides of this game

WELCOME to all new challengers and THANK YOU to veteran challengers continuing with a new teen this year!

I'm posting this in advance to allow time for challengers to create Sims and possibly develop backstories for them, if desired.

Have you ever admired those who start a New Year doing a one photo per day challenge, for example on DeviantArt? I had an idea pop into my head on New Years Eve 2020 for a challenge similar to those, only using TS4 screenshots. I put together something I hoped would work and called it the One Month One World One Year Challenge. I intended to post one screenshot of my Sim's progress during a gaming session per real life day with a short text summary and started on January 1, 2021.

Others joined me and a few had some very welcomed suggestions for improvements, which are continued welcome this year. The challenge blossomed to include stories of our challenge Sim's journey through life. This wasn't my original intention for the challenge, but I welcomed the addition and have loved every minute of it! It's helped us to get to know our Sims better than we might've not otherwise. Another BIG side benefit for me is the friends I've made along the way.

For this year's challenge, I won't be joining with my own Sim. However, I will be active in this thread to answer any questions challengers may have and update the main post as needed. I'll also read and comment on your challenge posts. Good luck everyone and remember, the main goal here is to have fun!

Rules/Guidelines:

One screenshot post per real life day in this thread with a short text summary.
One world per real life month - See monthly schedule of worlds in spoiler below. Optional: May change schedule of worlds to reflect your preferences.
Your challenge Sim MUST be a teen to officially begin this challenge and post in the thread.
After three real life months have passed, your Sim will age up to young adult for four months, adult for four months and finally, age up to an elder for December. Timeline posted in spoiler below. Optional: How long your Sim stays in each life stage, teen-elder, is at your own discretion. However, they are required to be at minimum a young adult to attend Uni in Britechester. *Note: If you own the High School Years EP, your Sims may be offered early graduation. If they take the offer, your teen is allowed to apply, enroll, and attend university or join full-time adult careers.
Begin Rags to Riches style on an empty lot with 0 simoleans.
Aging off Optional: May use long lifespan.
All unplayed residential worlds are off limits for any kind of travel. Exception: Newcrest may be designated a 'neutral' world to place venues for your Sim to use regardless of their current world residence. Optional: Newcrest may be used to replace a pack you don't own instead.
Sims may take a vacation to any of the designated vacations worlds. Rental lots in unplayed residential worlds are off limits.
Aspirations released with a world must be fulfilled first. May choose a base game or other pack aspiration not in the challenge to complete afterward.
Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, Newcrest and Magnolia Promenade may be used in substitution for worlds listed in the challenge for packs you may not own. In that event, choose one or two base game or other packs aspirations not in the challenge to complete per world.
Your Sim may marry and/or have children. Aging up children is at your own discretion.
High School attendance is not required. May use cheats to fulfill daily/promotional task requirements. *Exception: Applicable only if you do not own the High School Years EP or if you do own it, but have elected not to have your Sim live in Copperdale and do the aspirations associated with the EP in your challenge.
The beginning of each new month/world must start Rags to Riches style. Optional: Your Sim may keep personal possessions, sell the rest and bulldoze the house. They may use simoleans from this sale and accumulated household funds to build or download a house from the Gallery.
If your challenge Sim dies, it's game over. Optional: You may bring them back to life and continue or use another existing Sim in the household to complete the challenge.
Occult states and Celebrity statuses must be removed when progressing to the next month/world. Optional: May keep acquired lifestates/statuses. *Note: Vampires can't get a suntan, which is a Beach Life aspiration task.
If a new world is released with a new pack at any time during 2023, you have the option to swap the new world with another prior released world.
Give yourself a break and don't stress over days missed due to internet outages, vacations/holidays, real life work/responsibilities or sickness.
Extra story screenshots may be posted in the thread under a spoiler in addition to your daily post pic and short text summary. Strongly suggest a maximum of 20-25 screenshots per post.
May use satisfaction points to buy rewards. Exception: Money tree seeds are disallowed.
Lottery tickets are disallowed for purchase.
Beginning season, length of days and moon phases are your choice.
May turn off or cheat away/change all Eco Lifestyle features applied to worlds. Exception: Must be turned on while living in Evergreen Harbor.
May participate in all default Holidays, modify, delete and/or add your own.
May include a link to your preferred Blog site with additional story text/screenshots, in addition to your Daily Post Pic/Text Summary.
Mod friendly challenge! However, please use discretion when using them. Using a mod to fulfill an aspiration is disallowed. Exception: May be used to correct bugs and/or glitches.

Okay first, I don't always use this section but I know it is just being kind not to interrupt someone else's story but on this thread, if you're rotating and just want to dump pictures and tell us about it go for it. I would say we'll be fair about pictures at least use spoilers or add them in later if you have a ton. I would say more than 11 unless breaking it up in more than a post, I just don't fit into a lot of really busy categories and I wasn't sure if I could use my old rotating save it was cut for awhile, necroposting and all.

Mmkay that aside.

Now these are the Hearts, Gigi and her father Gio, he is visiting not just as a stay over but moved right in to see how things were going. He was playing friendly and it took all he had not to construct a pool wrapped up in a wall when he heard the horrible news. The supposed professional he hired to watch his daughter had fallen for her and now he was a grandfather, one that had to actually promise to behave. She had always been kept in another house far from work so she didn't know all the ins and outs of how he made money but he was The Boss for a reason, she wasn't dim, as much as it seemed otherwise.

"Please dad, he's good to me, isn't that what you always wanted?" he scoffed, he wouldn't answer, it was never that simple.

He brought along his bodyguard Vincent who was trying to play cold and heartless (ha) but as much as he tried to keep it at disbelief, going after the boss's daughter and all he couldn't help but be jealous. He didn't think there was a chance in the world above the man would ever notice him and he didn't have the courage to go after him in the same way. Naturally, his affection wasn't for the other guard more his 'station' so to speak.

"You know it isn't going to be simple you can't just play happy family man now."

"Pfft, he won't touch me, not with my angels around, besides I was told to keep her safe which I did."

Vincent shot him another dirty look, knowing he was right he knew Gio would play big bad but if she wasn't in danger Gigi was his pride and joy and now the family was moving on he always had a different mood around his family. Not that he'd seen it much just being staff but he knew there was reason Gigi was still close to her father being the way she was and the way he did business.

He knew when to play soft if he was with the right person.

He could have brought a bed but went with a sleeping bag to keep Vincent close to the door, he always kept a gaurd at the bedroom door even with a team watching the elevator or really any other entrance at all times. It was good to be cautious but with everyone else.

Gigi woke up fairly early to the sound of Vincent cooking, she didn't know much about him, she had known him in the general sense quite some time just because he was young didn't mean he didn't earn his place in her father's eye. Though he had always forbidden her from being too close, it had been a fight to get out of his house without a guard and this is what happens, she chuckled wondering if he thought Vincent was her type, or that she was his.

"Maybe he had a point, but don't ever tell him that sweetie." she had the family she wanted and it could only get bigger no matter what he thought.

At least he was being nice, by simply ignoring his would-be son-in-law.

She only cooed in response, not really caring about any of them, they weren't mommy after all.

You could almost imagine they were a normal little family.

Though there is always a reminder it isn't.

"I saw you with my granddaughter, remember these girls are my family you're the help, stay that way."

He only nodded.

"I'm sorry sir I thought you wanted me to help."

"Don't assume you're a fine worker beyond that, well, watch yourself."

"Yes sir."

Mmkay mostly it is generally light but a little intro I have more.

This is a place to talk about all aspects of your writing! Every Simming and writing question is welcome, and everyone is invited to chime in with writerly suggestions, responses, jokes, feedback, gripes, comments, and conundrums.

Even though we're located in the Sims 4 area, writers of stories involving all Sims games are welcome!

We have people who write stories using Sims 2, Sims 3, and Sims 4 games--and everyone is appreciated and included!

You'll find that we're really welcoming, and we're really cool, and this thread is totally awesome. And we have a few common sense guidelines to help keep it that way. (We've learned from experience! )

Treat each other with kindness, acceptance, appreciation, and respect.
Follow the EA Forum Guidelines.

The Art of Sims Storytelling

Hi guys!

@CathyTea and I were talking, and we thought we'd try making a thread that would be focused solely on writing, especially Sims story writing. The writers' lounge thread is great for being a lounge, but a separate space for more in-depth discussions with a slower pace and less immediate burying of posts could be good too.

I'm not good at making lists and rules, but here are some suggestions for things to talk about here:

the process of writing Sims stories
the Sims story community
how Sims literature fits into the greater literature community
how we use the game as a medium for storytelling
the imagery and themes in our work, and also possibly how they are influenced by the game
what it means to be a reader of Sims literature
the expectations or lack thereof that we have of Sims stories
the history of Sims storytelling and all the genres and their relationships to each other
and really just anything else you can think of that has to do with writing and reading and community and art and literature

I want to emphasize that this thread is open to everyone, no matter what and how you write.

I've learned in the last few years that sometimes stuff like this can intimidate people, but we are definitely not trying to be elitist or pretentious or intimidating or anything here. Hi all,
I'd been looking for a challenge like this, and couldn't find one, so I started playtesting this. I'm not finished the challenge, but I'm far enough along to have made some good revisions, and think it is really fun! The game changes a lot every generation, and feels new and fresh each time.
I hope some of you will try this too, feel free to post here!

The purpose of this challenge is to explore different possibilities for gameplay by restricting travel and making life in each world a little bit more special.

Setup
- Choose your starting world carefully: You will only be able to travel within your world and to the two adjacent worlds, until the next generation. (See the next post for list of worlds)
- Create a household of any number and ages. Use the color of your starting world as the main color of their outfits.
- Move into a lot in your starting world. Use the color of that world as the main color of the home's decor.

Life in Your Home World
- Each world has a local tradition. At least one member of your household must participate in this tradition three times a week or more.
- At least one member of your household must develop a best friend or romantic interest who lives in your home world.
- Not every world has every job opportunity. Sims may choose a career only from the list belonging to their home world or the two adjacent worlds.
- Travel only within your home world or the two adjacent worlds.
- You are encouraged to modify the worlds to your liking at any time by building, downloading from the gallery, customizing which sims live near you.
- There are no restrictions on money, aging, or cheats.

Other Sims' Travel and Where They Live
- You may cause other sims to travel only to worlds where they live, or one of the two adjacent worlds. That includes inviting them over, traveling with them, accepting an invitation to travel with them, inviting them as a guest to a party, bringing them home from school or work.
- You may not cause Not In World sims, who do not live in a lot, to travel anywhere.
- When other sims appear as walkbys, door-knocks, invite themselves as houseguests, or on a public lot, those are random events and need not be restricted.
- You may allow or disallow Neighborhood Stories to move households at random as you like, but you may not move households manually, except:
- Any sim from any world may join your household, or be joined to another household, once.
- Any sim or sims may leave a multi-sim household to move out on their own into any world, or move into another household in any world, or to become a new Not In World household, once.
- Any Not In World household may be moved into any world, once.
- Any household may be downloaded from the gallery into any world, once.
- Households may be moved around within the same world at any time.
- A household may be evicted into Not In World status at any time. But if you evict them, you may not move them into a lot later.

Travel Day
- At the beginning of the game, choose one holiday or life event (such as weddings or graduations) to be the event that everyone you know is willing to travel long distances to attend. On this travel day, anyone from any world can be invited to join you either at your home or at another destination in any world.

Inheritance
- The first baby or infant born or adopted into the household becomes the heir. Combining households with a household that already has a baby or infant counts as adoption. Older children may join the household at any time but they cannot be the heir.
- After the heir becomes a young adult, the next baby or infant to join the household becomes the next heir.
- The heir does not need to be the child of the previous heir. For example, if the current heir lives with a friend or sibling, and the friend or sibling has the first baby after the previous heir's young adult birthday, that baby becomes the next heir.
- If you are playing with aging off/manual aging, you must live in your current world for at least 3 sim-weeks before aging up the next heir to young adult.

Moving
- When the heir has their young adult birthday, the household moves to one of the two adjacent worlds. Choose your direction of travel carefully. Once you have moved, you must continue moving in the same direction every generation-- you can't go back and move to a world where the household has already lived.
- Add the new world's color to your home and outfits.
- The rules for travel, travel with other sims, career, relationships, and local tradition now apply to the new world.

Heirlooms and Ancestor Portraits
- Keep one object that was acquired in the previous home world. This should be an object you found, made, received as a gift, earned as a reward, or bought through gameplay, not a purchase from build mode. This object becomes the Heirloom from that world. It must be on display somewhere in the household's home for the duration of the challenge.
- Display a photograph or painting of your founding household and every generation's heir in your home.

Vacation
- The household may take one vacation per generation, of up to a week, to any world, with any other sims they want. While they are there, they may only travel within the world where they are vacationing. They should take home one Heirloom the first time they vacation in a vacation-only world.

You win when you come full circle: you have lived in every residential world in your game for a generation, you have vacationed in every vacation-only world in your game, and you hold one Heirloom from every world.

You lose if your heir dies before a new heir is born/adopted, and you haven't lived in every world yet.

If you have Seasons:

- After the first move to a new world, create an annual holiday with the traditions: Appreciate an Object, Tell Stories. Appreciate all your heirlooms from previous worlds and view all your pictures of founders and heirs on this day. On this day, you may invite friends and family from any and all worlds to come and visit you, in addition to the Travel Day you chose at the beginning.

If you have University:

- Any sim in the household may attend university on campus or from home.
- If the heir is to attend university right after aging up to young adult, move the household to their new world first, then enroll the heir in university.
- If the heir is to attend university as a teen, leave the home household where they are. When the heir becomes a young adult, the household should move to their next world, even if the heir isn't living with them during university.
- If attending on campus, you should participate at least twice a week in the local tradition from the world where you lived as a teen. You may add your university's colors to your decor and outfits if you wish. You may only participate in careers allowed in Britechester.
- Upon leaving university, the heir must rejoin their household at least long enough to get back all heirlooms and ancestor portraits. You may then split the household if you wish to continue with the heir on their own, or keep them together.
- Non-heirs leaving university may move back home or move to any world they wish, once.
- Students enrolling in consecutive terms may go home for the weekend, stay in their family home over the weekend using the Always Welcome reward trait, bring fellow Britechester residents along if they wish, and may travel within their family's world or adjacent worlds (not back and forth to Britechester) until their weekend visit is over.

If you have High School Years, Get to Work, or other packs with jobs that occur at a destination lot: 

- You may travel to the special lots for high school or for your job, provided that your job is an available career choice in the world you live in currently.
- For jobs that have you choose a gig location, such as Paranormal Investigator or Interior Decorator, you must choose a gig in your home world or adjacent worlds if there is one available. If not, you may simulate "traveling for work" by taking a gig in another location but then not taking any other gigs for 3 days to simulate the travel time.
- When high school or your job requires you to travel to a specific lot, like during a detective investigation or the high school auditorium, you can do that but you cannot visit other lots in that world while there. High school students may only attend sleepovers, pre- and post-prom parties, etc. if they occur in worlds you're currently allowed to visit.
- "College parties" count as being in either Britechester or Copperdale, your choice.
- You can have a baby at the hospital anytime (except for Glimmerbrook if using the optional challenge).

If you have Glimmerstones, Werewolf tunnel entrances, or other means of magical travel:

- You may use those objects to visit those worlds as desired. You must use the object, not the Travel menu or M key.
- While there, you may travel to other lots within those worlds (not the adjacent worlds) by clicking "Visit..." on the lot, but when your visit is finished, you must return directly to your home world.

Finally... if tweaking these rules in any way would make the challenge more fun for you, please feel free to do so of course

Hey everybody.👋 Welcome to my second story. I'm hard at work on getting things ready for this one. I thought I would go ahead and start the thread and give you an idea what's going on. I'll post occasional updates in here but most will be in the "What Happened In Your Game Today" thread for now.

With the cast pretty much done I'm down to working on the hard part, lots. I don't want any of the main cast to be homeless, but Del Sol Valley is sooo tiny. I'm adding San Myshuno and Oasis Springs to DSV to form a sort of Sims SoCal. DSV stands in as a Sims Hollywood and Malibu. San Myshuno is downtown. Oasis Springs is a Palm Springs like resort where the stars will get away for relaxation and such. I'm looking for either a weather mod to make San My like DSV or I will just turn off snow and weather effects and hope that I don't have lots of sims running around dressed for winter.

I'm hoping to have the first chapter done and posted by the end of the month. I really hope this story will live up to your expectations.

Kip Booth is a city dweller from Bridgeport who is on the brink of burnout. By a whim of fate, a random encounter leads him to travel to Henford on vacation. Kip sets out to regain his energy and rediscover what he likes, who he is and what it was that makes life worth living.

Follow Kip as he befriends the village locals, gets into chicken-themed hijinks and confronts some deep truths about himself. Will he learn to find happiness? Or will the life lessons that are offered to him get abandoned, left behind on those old countryside roads?

I'm rolling out this quick creativity challenge today April 3, 2020 in an effort to give you more exciting things to do as we all #StayAtHome in the weeks ahead. The main goal of this challenge is to design and upload original creations quickly and on weekends only. The focus of these creativity challenges is to grow your CAS skills since that's the creative section I'm most passionate about in The Sims. However, I may choose to challenge you on rooms and builds too as the challenge continues. The rules and creative direction will be posted here each Friday. Create and upload your entry to the gallery beginning each Friday after the new direction/rules post through 11:00PM MST Monday using the hashtag #GLovelysQCC

I love to make Maxis nominations so this challenge will help me find some fantastic things created by you much more easily to share in the nominations threads. Trying my hand at Rags to Riches

Hi, I've finally been able to attach pictures and videos here (I think?) So I wanted to share my video series "Rags to Riches/Nifty Knitting" using the Eco Lifestyle pack. We are starting off in Evergreen Harbor on an empty lot and no money. The goal is to get rich (100K) by knitting and listing on Plopsy. We cannot accept inheritances or make any money other than digging through the dumpster and selling our knitted things on Plopsy. We cannot sell what we find in the dump or what we plant. If we can't use it ourselves we must recycle it. Since I'm playing with Eco Lifestyle I think it would be good to become green as well.

Kendra has found herself homeless with no money and has a dream to rise above her circumstances and make a fabulous life for herself by knitting her way to the top. Sims 4 Death Challenge

Welcome to the Sims 4 Death Legacy Challenge! Where a whole sim family lives just to die!

There are 11 ways to die with base game, but with packs there are 28 ways to die, and 22 bonus ways to die. Some deaths can only be achieved with a specific occult type.

This challenge is organised by death types starting with base game, packs, bonus deaths, an extra hard mode, then the rules of the challenge and some bonus rules. For each death type I specify which pack(s) it comes with, and if only certain sims can die that way.

Rules of the Challenge:

1. The founder of the legacy must be able to stick around for the entirety of the legacy, so once they’re dead add the ghost to the household (this is to ensure you don’t accidentally game-over while killing everyone)

2. Only the final sim may die of old age. If any sims before that die of old age, you lose.

3. No adoption! That would be much too easy! Every sim in the legacy must be biologically related to the founder to count as a death. The only exceptions are the Extra Bonus options, who can’t be related. Clones do count as biologically related.

4. Acquire every type of gravestone: spellcaster, werewolf, vampire, alien, servo, and urn that floats in the water. These do not have to be legacy members, just have the gravestones.

5. Stay on short lifespan (it ain’t about living here!)

6. You may not use anything that would reset a sims lifespan. Time marches on.

7. Don’t move in any sims (with an exception for servos, so you can keep the graves).

8. Don’t move out any sims. No one can escape the clutches of death.

9. Randomize all traits.

10. Have a family graveyard.

11. Stay on one lot for the entirety of the challenge.

Optional Bonus Rules:
1. You may decide whether or not to do the bonus deaths.

2. You may choose to include pet gravestones as part of your collection.

3. You may choose to collect both indoor and outdoor types of each gravestone.

4. For an extra challenge, try to have every sim die on your home lot (except in cases like Jungle Adventure and Strangerville, which can only happen on location).

5. Just for fun, have a picture of each sim placed by their grave.

6. Say yes to every like and dislike pop-up.

7. You may turn off sims autonomy, or alternatively not allow yourself to turn it off.

8. Have the founder become BFFs with the Grim Reaper.

9. Leave every dead sims room in the house and have them themed.

Hi there!

I have created a new save file for my two all-time favourites, Caleb and Morgyn, after gaving them a makeover. Their story starts soon after Caleb is bitten. Lilith makes a pact with Vlad to turn his brother into a vampire and save him from death. But Caleb won't be exactly thrilled about it...

Caleb wouldn't speak to Lilith in centuries after what she had done. But he would do anything to save her from Vlad... like kidnapping a sage from the Magic Realm. After all, wizards and vampires were natural enemies. Which one would be crazy enough to help him and risk exile? But that weird elf boy didn't seem scared. Actually he was smiling, as if he was hiding a surprise. And Caleb for sure wasn't gonna like it...

Morgyn couldn't stop laughing when he woke up in Forgotten Hollow, even if that annoyed his captor. Vampires were coward creatures that avoided magic as much as the sun. But this one was brave enough, or desperate enough, to mess up with untamed magic, the most dangerous kind. Morgyn hadn't seen a vampire before, but this one was... intriguing. A worthy rival. Morgyn could definitely hurt him, but for some reason he didn't want to...

Metior_Ice's Merfolk Story Thread

Overtime, this post will be updated as new merfolk appear in my story. My merfolk won't die from old age, and I'll be following many of my old rules for merfolk. I expect that it could be easier to cheer for a specifc character since they won't disappear anytime soon.

My Merfolk’s Abilities and Weaknesses

Just a short outline of things I do differently with my merfolk. These things are made possible with mods.

1. My merfolk don’t naturally have a human form
2. Merchildren don’t have a human form until the teen life stage
3. Prolonged use of a human form gives my merfolk the Dagger Walker moodlet. This can make all merfolk very uncomfortable while in their human form.
4. Merfolk that can shapeshift into a human form can get forced back into their natural form if they get soaked long enough.
5. Merfolk feel the Call of the Sea. They are drawn to places to swim.
6. Certain skills like singing and playing most instruments are set to the maximum difficulty for developing those skills. The eternal life of merfolk makes it possible for them to both sing and play instruments better than most humans. They have the time to perfect the skill.
7. My merfolk are the only sims that get the Child of the Ocean Trait and Clumsy Trait. The Clumsy Trait causes my merfolk to occasionally stumble which fit very well with a life that is primarily aquatic.

Meet the MerSims

The twins that have always been a part of everything from the beginning. I turned back the clock to give them their mermadic childhood I always wanted to give them. Since they are merboys, they can't shapeshift into a human form. Dylan and Zephyr inherited their mother's spiritual connection to sulani, but they aren't true island elementals. Dylan and Zeph can tap into Sulani's Mana, but they are still one of the merfolk. They are definitely not human and never will be.

Dylan has the necklace and Zeph has the bracelet.

Calum Zalrian

Calum is an oddity among the Zalrians. He actually likes to be around humans. If it was an option, he wouldn't make a deal with a Sea Witch to become human. He’s proud to be a merman as much as he’s fascinated by humans. Besides, he knows it’s impossible for any natural born merfolk to become human.

Still, Calum and Kemps have very different opinions about humans. Calum ended up marrying his wife Arihi, who gave up being human to live in the sea as a mermaid. Calum and Arihi sang the song that brought the twins into the world.

Out of the three brothers, Calum is the most compassionate and understanding one.

Arihi Zalrian

Ages ago, Arihi made a deal with a Sea Witch to become a mermaid. Calum couldn't become human, but she could join him in the sea. Arihi doesn't have a tail natural born merfolk have. She also isn't as clumsy on her feet. Arihi is a genius that expertly navigated the terms of her contract and managed to fullfil her end of the deal without any negative consequences. Damian still has a grudge because of how she outwitted him.

Kemps Zalrian

Calum's older brother. He doesn't approve of his younger borther's interest in humans, but he learned to accept Arihi after she became a mermaid. Kemps is loyal and devoted to protecting his family. After the twins joined the pod, he's become a little more protective of his family. The twins are too young to hide among humans and take a human form. He's constantly worried that his younger brother's fascination with the human world will put Calum and his nephews in danger.

Out of the three brothers, Kemps is the most responsible one. He’s had to look after his younger brothers for a long time. After Calum and Reef started their families, Kemps became the Patriarch of the Zalrian Pod. His number one priority is ensuring the safety of his brothers, nephews, and sisters-in-law.

Alexander Goth

As a child, Alexander read many books about mythical creatures from the deep. As he grew older, his passion for the ocean and the legends that dwelled within never faded. When his father, Mortimer, had writer's block for some time, Alexander joined his father on a vacation to Sulani. Alexander has no idea how much this vacation will change his life. There's one tiny thing that constantly nags at Alexander's mind: Who's the mysterious contact that his father traveled so far to meet? Can he really give him the inspiration he's looking for? And, what could this mysterious individual do for Alexander and his pursuit of ocean legends?

Mortimer Goth: A Poor Unfortunate Soul

Reef Kailani

Reef is Calum's older brother and Kemps's younger brother. Reef was adopted by Kemps and Calum's parents. Even though the parents of the three brothers aren't alive anymore, Kemps and Calum still treat him like their brother. Reef doesn't pick a side when it comes to his brother's debates about humans. Reef neither hates nor likes humans. He's happy with his life as a merman and the family he has.

Out of the three brothers, Reef is the mediator. He’s gotten a lot of experience settling disputes between his brothers, Kemps and Calum.

Kylen and Lir Kailani

Kylen and Lir are Alexander, Dylan, and Zeph's cousins. Kylen is Reef and Sarah Kailani's son they sang into being. Lir was adopted by the Kailani when they found him alone in the sea. Merchildren are more vulnerable than older merfolk because they can't shapeshift at their younger age. Without a human form, merchildren never leave the sea and can only access spaces close to the water. It's hard to move on land with a tail. It's fairly normal for merchildren to stay close to an older merman or mermaid that looks after them.

Damion Morbius

A merman that became obsessed with ocean magic. He mastered the art of Sea Sorcery and can brew every potion and conjure any spell. He's lured many poor unfortunate souls in with promises of riches, good fortune, and power. Sadly, most of the individuals that came to him could never pay the price. He has a deep grudge for Arihi, one of the few that managed to outwit him.

Ukupanipo Hekekia

Ukupanipo was a poor unfortunate soul that made a deal with Damion. He was scorned by the love of his life and wanted to stop feeling heartache. Damion was happy to help a fellow merperson, but his magic came at a price that Ukupanipo couldn't pay. Ukupanipo has lost his free will and is bound to Damion by the contract he signed. Ukupanipo has since turned to the darker side of the sea and serves Damion faithfully. He neither feels the warmth of love nor is he bothered by what is asked of him by Damion.

Starter Guide

Select one of the premade founding couples and move into the founder's plot for the world of your choosing. Create your own founders for San Sequoia!
When a sim is born you must use the randomizer for their traits, aspirations and even careers.
Choose a skill from one or both of your founders to pass on to the heir for the 9 next generations.
Each generation you will need to build a home and pick Floor Plan A or B to recreate. Additions are allowed and feel free to change any colors!

A Sims 4 story based on the legend of Camelot, King Arthur, Merlin, and Morgana Le Fay. The story will follow them through childhood, teenage years, and finally end in adulthood.

Hi simmers!

Hopefully you're all doing well! One of the advantages of quarantine is that I've finally had a chance to reconnect with my childhood hobby. I downloaded the Sims Medieval, found CC for it in the Sims 4... and the itch to start storytelling again was too strong to ignore.

The story so far (spoilers ahead!):

ARC 1
Prologue - Fate
Arc 1 follows Arthur and Morgana as children, as they learn to navigate the world of medieval court. Follow the siblings as they befriend commoners, make enemies out of nobles and family alike, take bets and unearth secrets that were never meant to see the light of day.

ARC 2
Prologue, Part I - Time
Arc 2 focuses on a much larger cast, that has grown with Arthur and Morgana as they grew into teenagers. Our main cast face the complications of war, the nightmare of arranged marriages, the dangers of magic and the pain of unrequited love.

ARC 3
Prologue - Ego
The story takes a darker turn in Arc 3 as the wheel of fate turns on our main cast. The right thing to do becomes increasingly difficult when all colours are grey. When loyalties are tested, bonds are harmed and lives are at stake, can our cast remain true to each other?
