Pictures on Forum Showing and Not?

Hi there

On my PC, pictures I'm posting by copy-pasting, or drag and dropping, and even those hosted somewhere and I use the link ... they're not showing and I get a little blue/green box with the file/screenshot/link name. Everyone else's picture posts show up.
However, my picture posts show up on my laptop, which is not the device I used to make the posts. I signed in on it. My picture posts, and everyone else's show up just fine.
Now I'm back home and am back on my desktop PC ... my picture posts don't show up, they have the little box and file name. Everyone else's pictures show up.

Why is this happening? How do I fix it?

I think it would add to this site, and be helpful and cool to be able to add people as friends, and make it easier to message them or recieve messages. Also combining disscussion of console and Pc into one category option but have a thing that allows your to say this disccusion is may also be relevent to so and so source(Xbox/PC/Etc..) Not sure if that makes sense...

New Notification Indicator Wont Clear

You know that little red number up by your name at the top of the forum page that let's you know you have new notifications? Mine's stuck and won't clear. It has said I have 4 new notifications but I don't because I've checked to see what's new and the counter wont reset or clear when i refresh the page to see if they're gone. I've gone back and looked at older posts and if there's some comment I didn't see I sure can't find it to look at it and clear whatever is stuck. Can a forum admin clear the persistent 4 notifications out for me, pretty please?

Ahoy!

I might be missing something here - for it ain't the first time - but recently, I saved the first draft of a (marvelous) NEW DISCUSSION and closed the webpage-with full Captain Confidence- ONLY to find out that upon my return the draft was gone. Twas gone. I couldn't find it anywhere...

I'm usually the kind of guy who stores multiple copies of all he has ever written, said, thought or dreamt of, inside a heavily guarded treasure vault...alas, not this time. Not this time.

Where are these drafts stored, if at all?
Are they only "saved" as long as the web page remains open? If the answer is "yes", I'm ashamed to admit that I am nothing but a wonky auld blunderbuss.

@EA_Cade , @EA_Solaire , or anyone else out there: could you shed some light on this flabbergasting little mystery please?

Invisible Discussion

I don't know if anyone else has this but I have an extra, "invisible" discussion listed with my actual discussions. I tried to see what could be causing the extra discussion such as an unfinished draft I forgot about but there is none.

It hasn't gone away and I don't know why I have it to begin with. I only created 4 discussions, (5 with this one) but my discussion tab will tell me I have 6.

Is this some type of forum bug?

I really would like to be able to change my username because it asked for my name instead of asking for a username and now I'm stuck with this name. I have all content on this account and games. I don't know why we cant use our origin account username. Please EA or The Sims team let us be able to change our username. I don't know why we cant change them in the first place.

Translation error

There is a small mistake on the site in the French translation.

The Sims 4 -> Store -> Bundles

"Bundles" is translated "Liasses" like a bundle of banknotes. "Liasse" is used for a pile of paper (mail, money, tickets, ..).

Previously Create-A-Bundle in Origin, Bundle was translated Collection, this word would be more appropriate.

Sorry If I am totally posting this in the wrong place but I figured that EA answers and this site are connected in some way as something you click on here takes you into that site.
Ok so under Xbox console troubleshooting the 1st section says turn your Xbox off completely then lists a few steps. Well, I spoke with official Xbox support not long ago and they gave me steps to fix some things about my console, one was this exact step. A power cycle I think called, this is the full and correct way to do it, I recommend, if possible, update the post. It should say these steps:
-while console is on (or maybe off I'm not actually sure about this one) press and hold the power button on Xbox until the console turns off
-next unplug the power cable, HDMI cable, and ethernet cable (this was the important difference)
-wait for 2 minutes, not 10 seconds.
-plug the cables back in and power on your console
-this is the way to power cycle your console offered by Xbox staff themselves.

Also, another possible help for your console is to go to guide, profile, settings, and find the blu ray section and click on persistent storage and clear it twice (no saved data will be lost) This however is a recommendation in a YouTube video.

This proper method of power cycling might be important.
I made an edit to this post because something else in the console troubleshooting caught my eye And I noticed there is a feedback section in EA answers that I may be able to post in which I should have researched further before making this post as now I guess it completely in the wrong place. But oh well let me finish this post as I cannot delete it from what I understand.
-(Important) under the find my saved data, library, user data, etc. section. This section could cause someone to potentially delete all their progress in every game they have, lose every game they have and loss their profile, because in my opinion it is not very clear about which option to do, nor does it clearly discuss or point out the outcome of the choice.
one choice is to delete everything return system back to factory settings. the other is to factory reset but keep my saves and data, the difference between these two choices is not very thorough in its description. and one could easily delete everything. This section should be re written in my opinion.

I will check into posting at EA answers as I have now discovered that may be an option about feedback.

cannot access some threads

Alright, so the issue is this: I go to a thread, I can post on it normally. Then when I come back a day or so later, it starts asking me for "form resubmission" to view it. And then it does this:

I already lost access to one thread this way, wrote a message to someone about it. No answer. Now I got it on another thread too. Its getting really frustrating. Please, someone, help me.

Eta: forgot to delete my "pinned" top bar from the screenshot. Meh.

Rule against using Personal Photos

Greetings everyone! 👋🏼 I was just wondering if there was any more detailed reasoning why personal photos are not allowed? Just noticed that my avatar containing two friends and me was deleted -- and after I checked the rules, I understood why. Not saying that I necessarily need that but I'm curious. The Sims community is probably the last place where I would've expected such a restriction/rule. 👀

Can we make it necessary to read form rules?

Ok, so ts4 is now free! which is great! But that also means a lot of new members on the form. it does mean some people will say anything and they may get reported for it, maybe as a solution to this problem as part of being a new member, you have to read the rules to become a regular member, most of the people who may get reported now might not know that they are breaking the rules.

My comments now show up as "new" to me?

Up until a couple of weeks ago, when I read all the new comments in a thread, and then replied with my own comment, my own comment didn't appear as "new" in the forum view.
Now, my own comments do show up as "new".
Was this a purposeful update or is it something I can adjust? I'd rather have threads look like they have "new" comments only if they were made by someone else.

Right now I think The Sims Discussion is the more likelihood go to into posting discussions in relation to this. But I do hope that when features or news are dropped as times goes on, we also have a place in the forums to discuss the next generation of the game. I am really looking forward to it

Forum automatically drafting writing in comment box?

Is this intentional because it seems to automatically draft anything you write now
and no matter how many times you reload the page the text is still there
it only goes away when you actually post whatever you wrote

In order to post pictures to this forum, you must be a member. To become a member you need to have 25 points, 15 posts, and an account older than 24 hours. Now that you're a member, you can post photos to this forum.
Posting images to this forum isn't as simple as simply uploading a photo to the forum.
In fact, no such feature exists.

When I first found out about imgur, I was very frustrated. When I was posting the image codes, they wouldn't load the picture. Instead they would post a block of text. Well, there's a reason for that, and I'm going to show you that reason. Once again, you don't have to have an account for imgur, but again, I highly recommend it.

Step 1: Uploading
In order to upload to Imgur, you need to hit the NEW POST button.

Now, at this point I figured that all I had to do was hit the copy button on the side, and put in the image codes.

Well let's see what happens when I do that.

As you can see, the image never loads and instead appears as a block of text.

So why does this happen?
The reason that this happens is because there's no file extension at the end of the link.
Example: .png, .jpg
This means that the picture will never load, because the link is broken.

Step 2: Getting a working link part 1
In order to get a working link you need to hover over the image. DON'T click the copy button! That's where I was messing up.
Instead you need to click the ... button.

Step 3: Getting a working link part 2
Now that you've clicked the ... button, you need to hit the GET SHARE LINKS button.

Step 4: Getting a working link part 3
Now that you've clicked the get share links button, you need to copy the BB CODE link.

Finally, you can post your image.
Personally I think all these extra buttons you have to click are unnecessary.

Im one of simmer who's very interested in Sims lore. Landgraab Family history; from Sims Medieval Tredony lord Demetreus Landegraab to Admiral Landgraab and his nectar crisis with Necteaux couple. Goth Family and ther magical lineage, Lady Ravendancer Goth to Crumplebottom family. Historical Sim figures from lore; Queen Hatshepsut, King Raymundo Rodiekhkare, King Nayr and Queen Nosylla, Mad Mary McArthur and Princess Cordelia. Im also interested in supernatural lore and werewolf pack introduced very interesting lore, even including spellcasters. I would love to see a place where members discuss lore theories; (Were Calientes behind Bella's abduction, was Avelina Lunvik actually a vampire, was Olive Specter bethored with Grim Reaper, whats about Tragic Clown, did Bernard from Von Haunt Estate killed his wife Mimsy, who's Lolita Goth etc) and share lore findings (I haven read all the item describtions from buy mode in all games and many interesting lore can be found in item describtions. lately I have learned there is a Goth Family member named Morgana, drive men insane with her beauty after I read stage prop doll from Sims 3 Showtime)
