  • BTW - Suggestions for culling challenges from the master list as well as additions are welcome. It got a bit unwieldy after awhile.
  • Hello challenge creators I came back. But only made it part way through the challenges posted to the thread There is a wee bit of a problem with repetitious challenges or ones that don't really have much of a point. Back when I started this, it wasn't a problem because Sims 4 was new but these days, it's slightly…
  • @_samspugarmy_ I'm way late in seeing this. Credit for the challenge would have been awesome but I'm always glad to hear about people actually playing them. Whether or not they mention who created it.
  • Added - I know you try these challenges first.
  • Generally, either here in the forums or on a blog of your choice. Don't forget to develop a full set of rules and playtest your challenge. If it's your first challenge - you might want to have others beta test it and comment to be sure that your rules make sense. If it's based on another challenge - it's good to mention…
  • This feels like you just jammed together the elements of other challenges - a patriarchal legacy with the specifics of alphabets and only self employment allowed starting with nothing (Live off the Land Challenge). Is the challenge lost if a generation only has girls? You have to complete 27 generations and no one can ever…
  • My apologies. There was nothing wrong with it. I missed it because my internet has been very weird for a week and I only followed links to challenges where the rules were in the forums (not as much bandwidth.) It's in the list of other challenges now. I think I'd personally prefer if the rule were set out - first…
  • I think the list is up to date with the challenges that seemed well developed. There were a couple that were still didn't have a full rule set or resembled other challenges too much. Have fun people
  • I look forward to seeing more development on this. Right now, there is the concept but not the follow through. How many skills and how many children for an Easy game? How many for the Medium or Hard.
  • If you are using the same Sim to do all these challenges - then you are already working on the Clone Challenge. I'll vote Room Challenge for your starter. But if you are doing one a month, you might as well build a list - you won't want votes every time, surely? In which case - a very short challenge is the Perfect…

  • I find the rules for gen 1 completely confusing. You can choose to use one or all three - if you choose one - do the other two have to be immortal? Would you really expect to keep one or all three of them around for all 10+ generations? Using the cowplant to keep them immortal is going to cost a lot of random Sims. Is it…
  • Cool, glad to hear it.
  • As a note, I don't think that @evrythngivknwn deleted the thread. I suspect that the content was flagged and deleted for being too adult in nature. As far as I can tell, we aren't allowed to delete our own threads or I'd delete a few (dozen) of mine that are outdated/no longer relevant. Because of this, I'm not sure if I…
  • Bachelor challenges can be the most interactive. You can get people to submit contestants. You can have votes for who should be safe from elimination. You can have votes for the lowest two on who stays and who has to go. But if you really want a more interactive audience, consider tumblr. blogspot is fine for story telling…
  • Added down in the relatively short building challenge list.
  • As @EuphorialQueen suggested, you can always start a new discussion in this section. Also you can announce challenges here but please add the end date. That way I don't add a limited time event to the list. I don't mind them being announced but I don't want a contest in the main list which will definitely end at some point.
  • Added Perfect Sim Challenge the version of @AnnaSims post that has best discussion attached. I suggest that we all use that as the only discussion for that challenge.
  • I would suggest that you play test it for a little, and update this thread with reports on how it's going. It's generally nice to see how a challenge plays out. How would you expect kids to be rule breakers? Are you controlling all the sims in the camp or just the counselors?
  • A blog of mine Hi Mum, It's Sammy The stories are currently all Sims 3 based on a single Sim - Sam Grant. I have a Sims 4 version of Sam but haven't updated the blog with new tales - since I never finished the last one of the Sims 3 stories. It was a fan of that blog that caused me to write the Clone Challenge. I never…
  • A lot of the challenges in the second list are solo challenges. I look for solo challenges as well - because it's potential fodder for Hi Mum, It's Sammy. <3
  • I can't make such a list. I have no idea how to decide which challenges are best. And my ideas for the best challenge are *very* unlikely to suit everyone. Sorry.
  • Sorry guys, been away for a bit. Added @msarobix - Starving Artist to Superstar challenge @Charliimai - Accidental Time Traveller Legacy @LilMissSimmer - Alien Takeover Challenge @JesxSims - Will you survive? @EuphorialQueen - Mission Impossible: There's a Mosquito in my Syrup @ShadyLady_DQ - Build Newcrest Legacy…
  • I think you need to have another look at the chores for Cinderella. They include newspapers - which currently don't exist in Sims 4 and making beds - which *all* Sims now do the moment they get up. Perhaps tending her garden needs to be an official chore? Something that makes sense and is available in Sims 4.
  • In one respect, I'm glad it's your choice. It gives you the flexibility to decide which surname to carry on. You can not change names. You can make a hyphenated last name for both. You can change his name for legacy purposes. In Sims 3, I used Nraas MasterController and I had it set to ask me about names so I always got to…
  • I had this problem as well. Origin said I was online but the game refused to connect. Also Dragon Age: Inquisition had an issue. I restarted the computer, restarted Origin and all was fine.
  • There are probably as many methods of creating challenges as there are people who have made them. :D * Some challenges were originally created for Sims 2 or Sims 3 and have been updated for Sims 4 - The Legacy Challenge being one of those. * Some challenges take an original challenge and add some new twists to it. Be…
  • Indeed, the list is for everyone. Not only to give direction but also just shake up your game play if you find yourself doing the exact same thing every time you play.
  • Small grammar comment - you seem to be randomly using your and you're in the challenge description. You're == You are. Your == possessive - belongs to you. So it shouldn't be You're mom - it should be Your mom. If you could clean up that and answer @EuphorialQueen's question then I'll add it to the list of challenges.
  • I'd also say, play for fun. Challenges can be fun but if you are still new to the game - you might want to start out slower. Certainly spend some time getting used to the game - have a save for play. When you can manage that well, then it's time to look at the challenges. And believe me, there are a LOT of challenges that…
  • Hope you have fun. It's a bit easier than when I originally set it up - they changed the goals of the tiers with a patch and most of them are easier to reach now. But if you get a child through one aspiration tier, you can always do a second.
