Yeah, MMaO does seem to like offering a few of the same items over and over. For me that has been stuff from Date Night, Loud, Fast, Clash!, and Through the Spy Glass. As of this week I own Date Night so that won't be showing up anymore (until the Store bugs out again and offers items I already own). As for the others, I'm not all that interested in owning them except to take them out of MMaO's pool of options and to eventually own the Store.
I haven't been shy about modding my game since I experienced basically everything in base Sims 3 when I put probably a couple hundred hours into the Xbox 360 version years ago (earned all achievements and completed almost all of the in-game Challenges). Mostly NRAAS mods to fix things and various clothing and hairstyles I wanted to make sims with that I couldn't find in the game or Store.

Hey there! So with this current Daily Deal, I bought DD #418 to get the lullabies and nursery rhymes set. As I didn't have a cascade to use, my January 2013 compilation looks like this.

My question is, when part of a set goes on sale in the DD, does this affect the CYS price of the set? So in my case, if I waited until DD #910, will this reduce my current CYS price of the January 2013 Compilation? Because if not, it seems as though I'm best off just directly completing the compilation for 455 SimPoints via CYS.
Also, if there is a better cascade or way to make this cheaper it'd be appreciated if someone could help me with this. Thank you!

So in my case, if I waited until DD #910, will this reduce my current CYS price of the January 2013 Compilation? Because if not, it seems as though I'm best off just directly completing the compilation for 455 SimPoints via CYS.
Also, if there is a better cascade or way to make this cheaper it'd be appreciated if someone could help me with this.

Before I get to my story, I'll answer your question: Ragtime going on sale will not affect the price of January 2013.
The cheapest way for you to finish the compilation if you already own Lullabies is actually to go for Ragtime instead, although the prices are similar. As I state on my updated cheapest paths page (link on first page of this thread and in my signature), the cheapest way to own Ragtime is the following:
Ragtime in the Big Easy -- ~436 / 1650 (74% off)
- (cheapest item of set) (61/61)
Bohemian in the Square
On the Bayou
The Faulkner
- DD #910: Ragtime in the Big Easy (~375/479)
My personal recommendation:
1. Try to grab Ragtime items from MMaO before DD #910 comes up
2. Only if you have not managed to grab any Ragtime items from MMaO by the time DD #910 comes up, grab one of the above items at full price
3. Grab DD #910 for at most 375 thanks to CYS applying to the already low DD price

As for the story of my purchase, the TLDR is January 2013 (or maybe just the Store) is apparently a bit buggy and my calculator is still accurate.
Long version:
Upon purchasing Lullabies I popped over to January 2013's page to make note of my new owned percent and CYS. I then plugged my purchase into my spreadsheet and CYS calculator to confirm the calculation still works. This is when I encountered a discrepancy. The Store reported 54% owned with a CYS of 455 while my calculator reported 55% and 385. Remembering trouble I had with January 2013 in the past (another story I could share if anyone is interested) I decided to double-check my item prices for the set. Upon finding no errors I was resigned to the fact that the compilation is just buggy (not unheard of when you consider the Animals Abound cascade). Then I saw your post reporting the same CYS for the compilation while owning none of Ragtime. This prompted me to both redo my math without the Ragtime item, which worked out perfectly. Then I rechecked the compilation's Store page and was met with new values of 55% owned with a CYS of 385, which were what my calculator said they should be. So my first check of the compilation's Store page did not factor in the Ragtime item I owned, but the later visit did.

Well this DD went extremely well for me! :D I already owned 3 items from the compilation, of which I had spent 219sp on through the DD (idk what the normal prices were, don't remember) , and this brought the CYS price down to 205, so in total I only spent 424sp for this compilation!
But wait, it gets better, as I just unknowingly created my own cascade as by completing the set it brought my CYS price for Oh My Goth (of which I owned nothing until getting May 2012) , down to only 275sp!
I have a list of a bunch of actual cascades for other compilations, but this one I didn't have one, and I didn't expect getting this compilation to help quite as much with Oh My Goth :)

Hello @goodFeel93 , I got the EA App last October, because I play both Sims 3 and 4.. At first I had a lot of problem (My Eps and Sps wouldn't download for the Sims 3) EA fixed it, it took about a few weeks.. My game works well now.. Report this to EA if you haven't already, that way they will fix it faster.. I hope that this help..

Yeah, MMaO does seem to like offering a few of the same items over and over. For me that has been stuff from Date Night, Loud, Fast, Clash!, and Through the Spy Glass. As of this week I own Date Night so that won't be showing up anymore (until the Store bugs out again and offers items I already own). As for the others, I'm not all that interested in owning them except to take them out of MMaO's pool of options and to eventually own the Store.
I haven't been shy about modding my game since I experienced basically everything in base Sims 3 when I put probably a couple hundred hours into the Xbox 360 version years ago (earned all achievements and completed almost all of the in-game Challenges). Mostly NRAAS mods to fix things and various clothing and hairstyles I wanted to make sims with that I couldn't find in the game or Store.

My question is, when part of a set goes on sale in the DD, does this affect the CYS price of the set?
So in my case, if I waited until DD #910, will this reduce my current CYS price of the January 2013 Compilation? Because if not, it seems as though I'm best off just directly completing the compilation for 455 SimPoints via CYS.
Also, if there is a better cascade or way to make this cheaper it'd be appreciated if someone could help me with this.

Before I get to my story, I'll answer your question: Ragtime going on sale will not affect the price of January 2013.
The cheapest way for you to finish the compilation if you already own Lullabies is actually to go for Ragtime instead, although the prices are similar. As I state on my updated cheapest paths page (link on first page of this thread and in my signature), the cheapest way to own Ragtime is the following:
Ragtime in the Big Easy -- ~436 / 1650 (74% off)
- (cheapest item of set) (61/61)
- Bohemian in the Square
- On the Bayou
- The Faulkner
- DD #910: Ragtime in the Big Easy (~375/479)My personal recommendation:
1. Try to grab Ragtime items from MMaO before DD #910 comes up
2. Only if you have not managed to grab any Ragtime items from MMaO by the time DD #910 comes up, grab one of the above items at full price
3. Grab DD #910 for at most 375 thanks to CYS applying to the already low DD price

But wait, it gets better, as I just unknowingly created my own cascade as by completing the set it brought my CYS price for Oh My Goth (of which I owned nothing until getting May 2012) , down to only 275sp!

Hello @goodFeel93 , I got the EA App last October, because I play both Sims 3 and 4.. At first I had a lot of problem (My Eps and Sps wouldn't download for the Sims 3) EA fixed it, it took about a few weeks.. My game works well now.. Report this to EA if you haven't already, that way they will fix it faster.. I hope that this help..
