New Pack Concept: "Ballet Away"

Special thanks to @RoseyaSimi4 for inspiring me to write this. Hope you all like it!

New Skills

Ballet
Ideal Mood: Focused
Max Level: 10
The sim progresses this skill either by practicing on their own, attending a class (available to schedule on phone or computer), rehearsal, or performance. The sim can read a book on ballet or research ballet on a computer to gain a bonus to focused (+2 for 4 hours, these can stack, but the ability to research ballet on a computer or gain the bonus from the book is only available to those active in the ballet profession) . To unlock this skill, the sim needs level 5 dance and attend at least one class after reaching level 5 dance. Those under level 5 dance will first gain skill in dance when attending ballet lessons.

New Items

Salad Bar
Typical salad bar were the sim can make a number of different salads. Can be placed by player and used in restaurants to generate income.

Filtered Water Dispenser
Can be used to pour a single paper cup of water or used to fill a water bottle.

Water Bottle
Portable and reusable water bottle easily carried by sims that hold enough water for several drinks or, in emergency, can fill half your hygiene meter once.

Smoothie Machine
This machine dispenses a number of yummy drinks depending upon the fruit used.

Golden Llama
A small, golden statue of a llama with the inscription, "Presented to (sim's name) for their achievement in bringing the arts to the people". Decor +4.

New Professions

Young Adult and Older Career: Ballet Dancer
Skills Required: Dance, Fitness, Ballet
Primary Mood: Focused

This is an active profession that works in several stages. In each stage the player can choose to manually control the sim, and therefor raise the chance of success depending upon their actions/results, or choose to rabbit hole where their results will be determined purely upon their needs and emotion. The stages are as follows...

1. Audition
The sim attends (either actively or rabbit hole) an audition for a professional ballet company's rendition of "Llama Lake" (or whatever), and if successful will then move on to the next stage. If not, they will need to wait until the next available audition, which occurs once a week. There is no pay for this time.

2. Rehearsal
The sim attends (either actively or rabbit hole) rehearsal where they are expected to perform several activities such as stretching, working out, practicing their dance moves, and practicing their dance with others. On top of that, they should also work to get along with as many of the other dancers as possible, and some will be far more difficult to sway to your favor than others. There are five other dancers randomly selected out of a pool of 20, and while the relationships do carry over, they are treated like normal relationships in that most sims will need to be active in order to keep a good standing. If the player rabbit holes, each of the five will receive a small boost in friendship, but nothing close to what they could accomplish if they were active. The pay for this time isn't too much, but should at least be enough to scrape by and reflect the sim's appropriate skill levels and level of profession, so in the later stages of this career the sim is earning quite a bit. Food is available via a salad bar (so the sims won't starve), a filtered water dispenser, and a smoothie machine. This stage lasts 2 weeks, for 5 days a week, for eight hours a day.

3. Performance
The sim attends (either actively or rabbit hole) the performance of the show where they witness the outcome of their work. During the performance, the player is posed with several problems on stage and given three options to solve it using either Dance, Fitness, or Ballet, the results of which determined by said skill level and luck. Behind the stage, between sets, the player is posed with several more problems dealing with the other dancers that is determined by the player's sim's relationship with said dancer. At the end, the performance is graded. The weekly pay is the same as stage 2, but at the end of the run the player is given a bonus depending upon the overall grade of all performances. This stage lasts 2 weeks, 5 days a week, for 4 hours a day. At the end of the run the sim is expected to restart back at stage 1 unless otherwise noted (see level progression below).

Level Progression
The sim must complete an entire run (audition, rehearsals, and performances) and also have a high ranking in order to progress to the next level. Because of the time required to accomplish this (at least 4 weeks), each level requires rewards to keep the player interested. Every other level the player is rewarded with a clothing piece related to dance (head, upper body, lower body, shoes, gloves), and these items when worn lessen the amount of energy used. When considering the style, think of things dancers wear when practicing. They are at other levels rewarded with a collection of Playbills from past performances (+2 decor), access to purchase the Filtered Water Dispenser, access to purchase the Water Bottle, access to purchase the Salad Bar, and access to purchase the Smoothie Machine.

At level 8 the sim is invited to be a permanent member of a dance company, at which time the sim will no longer need to audition.

Notes on Performances
There are 5 different performances, each with it's own theme, so at the least the sim will need to at least complete each one twice if they really hammer this profession. At the end of the first time completing any 1 of the 5. the sim is rewarded with a poster of that show that can give any 1 of the 3 auras: energized, focused, or happy. They are also rewarded with a stack of Playbills from that show that gives a +2 decor bonus. So, there are five posters and 5 Playbills available to adults. The only way to get these items is from completing a show, so if a poster or Playbill is deleted or sold the player will need to complete the show again to get back the item. Each household is allowed one of each (5 separate posters and 5 separate Playbills) and these are collection items (see Collection Items below). Completion of each of the 5 shows will also reward the player with a unique outfit from that show's theme.

Child and Teen after school activity: Ballet Lessons
The lessons will bring the pupil to level 5 dance, then into ballet. Children can gain a max of 2 levels in Ballet, where teens can gain 3 levels in Ballet. So, if a child completes their lessons and then continues as a teen, they will enter young adulthood at level 5 in Ballet. Opposed to the YA version, this is completely rabbit holed, meetings are 3 days a week (Mon, Wed, Fri), for 4 hours a time. At any point when the pupil reaches the max tier of performance they can choose to participate in a recital. The completion of this recital will reward the sim with a Poster of that theme, a Playbill of that theme, and unlock a unique theme related outfit for person's of that age type in that household. Children has 2 themed shows and teens have 3. There is no money, lessons cost money ($100/week). The recitals can be watched, if the player chooses to, and watching them grants both the child and parent(s) a happiness bonus of +2 for a week. Watching the recital is literally just that, you are transported to the theater where you watch your child, among others, give a small ballet recital typical of their age and skill.

Ballet Collection Items
There is a total of 20 items to complete the Ballet Collection; 5 Adult Posters, 3 Teen Posters, 2 Child Posters, 5 Adult Playbills, 3 Teen Playbills, and 2 Child Playbills.

Additional DLC Supported

Discover University
Those that have Discover University, graduated from teen with an A in school, have a 5 in Dance, and a 5 in Ballet are offered a full scholarship to the University of Britechester, housing included, as long as their major is Ballet. They can pick any available minor for no additional cost. This Fine Art degree will automatically get them an offer to join a professional dance company (no more auditions), or if they reach level 8 before they graduate they can quit school and join at any time they wish.

Get Famous
Those with Get Famous can accumulate fame as they gain levels in the Ballet career. It will also come into play when accessing the Live Theater (see below).

New Area

Live Theater
This is where the player's sims teleport to in order to work or perform. While it's not seen on your map by default, a copy of the building is available in the library to place it in town if the player wishes. Owning this pack will allow the player to build their own theater where they can run it like a business and charge people to watch other sims the player control perform dance, violin, piano, guitar, comedy, or singing. They can only perform dance if the sim who will be doing the dancing has completed that dance theme'd show at least once before and it must still be appropriate to their age. So, a child completes 1 of the 2 available children Ballet shows, they can perform that one show they completed if their household owns a theater, but once that child becomes a teen it will no longer be available. Other sims will be provided for the other dancers, if none in the household are available, but at a cost. All shows pay out depending on the number of sims involved (max 8), the skills of each sim involved, how long they perform (four hours total, can be split into four acts for one hour each or two acts for two hours each or one act for four hours) and minus any cost of sims paid outside of household. You can have two shows a month of each type, so a family of high skilled performers could easily support themselves.

Special Show
If you have one sim that has maxed one of each of the following skills in your show; Singing, Ballet, Acting, Comedy, Musical Instrument (guitar, violin, or piano), then a special show option opens up for the player. So, you need at least 5 sims hired, one maxed in each of the mentioned skills, and all five are selected to perform together for one, four hour set. Ladies and Gentlemen, I proudly present to you...

"Little Shop of Cowplants"
Yes, it's a musical comedy number, but boy do the people love this stuff. It pays great, but you will need 3 more sims for ensemble. All sims in your save that have sufficient skill are available to hire, and the game will supply you with sims (for a heavy cost). Having all five members of the household that owns the theater will dramatically lower the cost, making your household even more money.

The show actually happens on stage (four scenes an hour long each, nothing too intricate) where you can watch the show and make some additional money selling drinks to patrons at intermission (by tending the bar or hiring a bartender). This option can be done twice a month and will consume all other show opportunities for 2 weeks.

Every 14 times a sim has performed as one of the main 5 in this show, they will receive in the mail one Golden Llama.

If Ballet was a thing, I think Modern Dance should get a nod somewhere. From there, sims can do several styles and even do a traveling troupe as opposed to the more static theater.
