Proud to announce the final version of the first part of my resistance challenge: the doomsday preppers. I had fun creating it and hope others do too



The Resistance Challenge-The Doomsday Preppers rules

Story: You and a couple of others are skeptics about the SimCity government. You believe they know of an upcoming apocalypse and are only telling the elite and wealthy members of society. Your sims trust no businesses and therefore relies on the criminal career, stealing, and hobbies to make money. You try to move as far away from society as possible.

Setup:

Create three to seven sims. These sims must have all these traits amongst them: Erratic, Hot-headed, Evil, Self-assured, Kleptomaniac, Mean, Loner. For the whole challenge, you must pick one sim not to play at all. This rule does not apply if they are the last sims alive or with things like getting a job, resetting, coming back home.
You can choose any lot to live in, but you must demolish buildings nearby. The exception includes parks, other challenge homes, or other doomsday preppers households.
You must pick three of these lot traits, but you can change them as the challenge goes on: Convivial, Cursed, Grody, Mean vibes, Homey, Quake Zone, Private Dwelling, Filthy, Creepy Crawlies, Peace and Quiet, Haunted, Great Soil, Volcanic Activity (you may also choose off-grid to simulate the challenge)
Build a fence around the whole lot and add a gate to allow your sims to leave the lot for jobs
Set the money to Zero but add 1000 simoleons per sim
You may build a shelter/4 walls but no rooms at this time.
You may only buy 3 of these essential items at this point: beds, tents, toilets, trash cans, bushes, showers, sinks, fridge/cooler, ovens, grills. You can, however, buy as many of the 3 items as you want and can exchange them throughout the game. You may buy candles and as many doors as you want
You may choose either two paths: Controlled or Rebellion.

Promotions:

Petty thief-unlocks one of the essential items
Ringleader- woodworking bench
Felonious Monk- one of the essential items
Minor Crimelord-Ability to go to Granite Falls or Selvadora. If you do not have either of these you may create a world of parks, pools, or any lot for other doomsday preppers to enhance their survival
Mob Boss Branch

Level 6: cheap active equipment
Level 7: cheap Recreation items
Level 8: One more essential items
Level 9: Unlocks the ability to visit Bars
Level 10: All qualities of active equipment and recreation are unlocked
Oracle Branch

DigiThief-Cheap laptop: only allowed for games and programming. If you are doing the rebellion path then libraries are unlocked. However, the library must be made in Newcrest
Level 7: Radio and television are unlocked(if doing no bills path collect additional 500 simoleons)
Level 8 Unlocks low quality Creative and able to go to museums and Art Centers
Level 9: Unlocks another essential item and complete phone usage
Level 10: All qualities of Electronics and creative and are available. You may also go to Nightclubs and karaoke bars now


Skill rewards:

Handiness level 2: Low-quality storage

Handiness level 3: Low-quality kids stuff

Handiness Level 4: Painting Easel

Handiness Level 5: cheap surfaces(No more than the 3rd cheapest)

Handiness Level 6: Cheap comfort: Same as surfaces

Handiness Level 7: Ability to make a basement and windows

Handiness Level 8: Make rooms

Handiness level 9: All qualities of storage, garden pots, and surfaces are available

Handiness Level 10: All qualities of Comfort are unlocked

Painting level 2: Wallpaper

Painting Level 4: Decor

Painting level 4:Flooring



Small Details:

You especially do not trust any vampire, Alien or occult NPC’s. You believe the government created them to kill you. So, if you figure out someone is one you must exterminate them

You cannot talk to any rich or high career leveled sim. The exception to the rule is performing mean or mischief interactions in order to fulfill job or aspiration achievements

Until you reach the Oracle branch your sim cannot use their phone (except to play games or quit the job). The reason is the perceived notion that the government can control and hack phones

Mods or cheats that give you an advantage over someone playing vanilla are not allowed. You can add story progression mods and other gameplay mods that don’t make skills, friendships, promotions, etc easier.

You must have 400 simoleons per sim that are leaving in the household fund to be able to leave anywhere

If you have a mod that allows students not to go to the school that’s fine. If not, for story sake, then pretend they are being sent to militia training/survival/doomsday prep school.

You may create your own park with both all the park necessaries plus any items you want is right under the circumstances. Unlike other parks, you may not steal from this lot

Objectives:

Complete both the mob boss and oracle branches of the criminal career
Complete the chief of mischief aspiration
Master the handiness, mischief, and herbalism skills (if you have outdoors if not master cooking or gardening).
Complete the metals collection (only base games metals needed)
Create a house with both an upstairs and a basement. The top part must have a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and a bedroom. The downstairs needs: bedroom for each person/couple, a storage room, an athletic room, and a handiness workroom. Altogether the house must cost #beginning sims x 5,000 simoleons.
Steal $5,000 worth of items
Have a child reach young adulthood


Event Rolls: Each week roll of an event (optional)

1. Sim suffers from an illness. You must quarantine them (you may build walls or a fence). You can give them plates of food but that is all. They may have only the essential items you already earned

2.SimCity wide sewage problem-Your sims cannot use any facilities (either commercial or residential lots plumbing/showers) the whole week.

3.Bankrupt- if you are below your starting fund go to zero. If you are above it then go to your starting fund (can only role once)

4. Nothing-There are no events this week

5.Runaway-Move out one of your sims for the whole week

6. Termite Destruction- Delete your woodworking bench. You may not purchase one till you either achieve an essential item, raise your handiness skill, or get a promotion

7. Refurbishment week- Spend 2,000 on your house. This does not count towards your goal

8.Collect 1,000 Simoleans

9.Robbery-gets rid of one of your essential items. Can get it back when you complete an achievement or earn an essential item

10.Nothing-no punishment or reward this week

11.Solitaire- You may not leave your home this week. (only affects lots not effect rabbit holes)

12.Metal work- You may only focus on collecting metals and handiness this week. You may not focus on your career but you may go to work

13.Whim Week!- You must only focus on whims and aspirations. Not on the challenge

14.Collect 1,000 simoleons

15.Risky feelings-Each day you must do a romantic interaction. More powerful each day 16.Termite sighting-You may not use the woodworking bench the whole week 17.Nothing-There are no punishments or reward this week

18.Reversed play- The one sim you couldn’t play is now the only sim you can play for the whole week

19.Tense week- Every day for a week you must get into a fight

20.Essential week! Gives you one essential or $1,500 simoleons

21.Nothing

22.Theft week- You cannot accomplish anything each day till you have stolen something. The amount you have stolen does not contribute to your goal. You may keep it or sell it for money

23.Exhausted- Remove one bed for the whole week. Roll a dice or random generator. 4 or higher you get the bed back if lower you lose the bed for another week. This continues until you get the bed back

24.Cowplant time! Either use debug mode, purchase a cowplant room from the gallery, or plant a seed if you have it

25.Garden pest infestation- Destroy 4 plants
