I am interested in setting up a word press to document a legacy... I've tried playing in the past but could never get past the third generation. I never documented anything, just played. I'm curious if it would help or if I would find it tedious? Do you ever just play for fun with the family and not want to tell the story?
Glad to see I'm not the only one getting everything prepped and ready to go for release day! Woo woo!
@kraftysim, I personally went 5 generations before turning it into a story, and although I think I would have stuck with them anyways because I hate "starting over" so to speak, writing them as characters sort of gave me this weird... Emotional attachment to my sims. It also opened the doors to making a lot of new friends. But, I wouldn't suggest it if you don't enjoy writing--10 generations is a big commitment, if the formula is boring to you it may get old real fast. Coming up with a "story" makes things more fun than just marry->baby->grow up->repeat, though.
Thanks for your thoughts, @kaleeko. The repetitive cycle you mentioned carried a large part to my boredom with the challenge and I got bored with the lot. Renovating the house was too difficult at times and caused a few bugs when I acquired a lot of household items. The new building tools should make this easier! I do enjoy writing, I was a journalism major, but finding time can be difficult. :-) I don't have anything to lose, so I imagine I'll give it a go.

The Kensington Legacy is my longest running one so far - but that was mostly due to corrupt save files and random acts of crashing. Sims 3 hated me regardless of what computer I played it on. If I played "normally" I would create a Sim, play him/her for a bit, get married, have kids, get bored, delete the game, and start all over again wasting HOURS creating Sims and building houses.
My creating a story and *HOLDING MYSELF ACCOUNTABLE FOR WRITING IT* almost forced me to immerse myself into it more. I had to assign more personality and emotions to them which was difficult in Sims 3 because they often didn't give me much to go in. If it weren't for pose packs and various cheats and mods, the stories would have been near impossible to document. Sometimes I'd get lucky with natural gameplay, but more often than not I'd have to tweak it.
As someone who used to enjoy creative writing back in the day, I found writing and maintaining a Legacy to be extremely rewarding; the more blog hits and followers I got, the more motivated I was to actually write and play the game.
I recently found out all about Sims legacies and the vast amount of Sims stories, so I have read only very few, and completed even fewer! But, seeing your beautiful founder ready to get into new adventures in a fresh game and a fresh blog, well, I have to admit it got me all excited about The Price Legacy. I will have the chance to read a story from the beginning, something that will make the whole story progression seem very natural and all that more intriguing. Bookmarked it while anxiously waiting for the first chapter. Meanwhile, off to read all about The Kensington Legacy :D
The Kensingtons are making their way to Sims 4 as well. I took my last screen shot a few nights ago (and then Sims 3 promptly crashed to which I said "Good Riddance!". I'm in the middle of home remodeling (just painted the kitchen and we're getting new garage doors this week AND a quote on a screened in porch. YIKES) but I'll try like hell to get the last few chapters out that I need to make the transition a relatively smooth one into Sims 4. I have the thoughts, I just need to write them down.
@elektrikparadox I'll tell you what, this CAS makes it easy to create some truly beautiful Sims. I'm enjoying myself way too much. I'm really looking forward to playing next week! Thanks for checking out my blog!
My Sims 3 game is crashing sooo much, too! Enough to get on my nerves and make me not to want to play it anymore! I have lost so much progress over the years, that I failed to keep count. I can never play the same thing twice, and if my family had gotten to a point I really really liked, and then lost, well, let's just say I was giving up on the whole neighborhood. So, I'm just waiting patiently (and very very anxiously) for TS4 to be released, with all the new stories and cc that will come along!
Absolutely agree with the comments - your founder does look amazing.
Cos I'm in Britain, I've been looking for something to pass the time while I wait the extra 3 days for the game to come out (to keep me from going mad when everyone else seems to have the game already) so I might end up distracting myself with you Kensington legacy

I've downloaded Twitch and an open broadcast program so I'll try my hand at some "Live" Gameplay. I'm sure I won't be the only one, but my channel name is the same as my Origin ID: simmerdownsouth. I'll be testing on CAS Demo so the morning of the 2nd I can dive right in
Oooohhhh, I'm totally going to follow you! I have no idea exactly when I'm going to have the game, so I'd love to see some live gameplay on 2nd!! Thanks for that!!!
Oooooohhh, you got me all excited now! I had thought I'd have to wait until I got it! Yay!! Already followed you and anxiously waiting for those 5 days to pass!!
I'm already excited about the next chapter, having read the second just a moment ago. Are you going to keep writing in a narrative style through all ten generations?
