If you have a bakery or old mill type of build you'd like to show off please post some pictures of it here along with links to the Exchange if you have chosen to share it.

This is a link to the other builds threads.

I've added a link to this bakery & old mill thread to the first post of the roller coaster thread.

I need to say the most fun thing that happened to the roller coaster thread, from my point of view, is firstly the huge number of amazing roller coasters in it, and secondly it got some recognition by EA when it was posted to the Sims 3 Facebook page. It has had over 9,000 hits and over 350 posts so far. There are about 40 roller coasters in it for people to investigate should they want to find one for their game.

There are several sets of pictures of works in progress on pages 1 and 2.

Wonderful idea! I'm working on a revamp of the venue now plus I'm adding a bakery to my Al Fresco Restaurant & Bakery. I'll post both here as soon as they are done!

I'm building one now, since I can't sleep. Stressy week. I won't be putting it on the exchange because I'm only updated to 1.57 and I think you have to be fully updated to upload creations, right? But I'll post pictures when it's finished.

i'm patched the same and I upload all the time! and my friends have downloaded my creations with all patch levels and have had NO problems!!

I'm definitely going to build a bakery. The one that came with seemed too busy, too separated for me. I want a small, ma and pa style bakery. I'll post as well! 8)

Hi Mhamilton0911 thanks for letting me know that. I agree with you about the venue. It's beautiful, but not my idea of a little corner bakery. It's a bit too huge. I look forward to seeing your bakery.

Karritz your bakery is so cute. I don't have KPST and never wanted it before, but no doubt it will be useful for those who have it in building their bakeries.

Well here's mine. It's still a WIP on two fronts, it's still not decorated completely to my liking, and I can't figure out the best way to run it the way I want to. I'm anxious for someone to write a full-fledged step-by-step tutorial on the best way to run this thing!

I built the bakery in Sunset Valley on a 20x30 lot. The baker is ... I think her name is Emma? This was all done in a test game.

    Exterior

View through one of the front windows

    bakery3.jpg

Customers admiring the apple cobbler in the display
    bakery4.jpg

A view of the work station with racks
    bakery5.jpg

I put a half wall all the way around the work area because sims going to the wrong side of the displays to browse annoyed the heck out of me. I teleport Emma behind the counters. I also use a LOT of CC in my game!

Thank you for starting this thread, Karritz! Your build looks fabulous. I don't have the KPST pack. I wonder what your bakery would look like if I downloaded it and let the game replace the missing objects?

Thank you Nik. I'm afraid I won't be loading that KPST bakery I posted pictures of as it is all just a venue I got out of that Stuff Pack and I added the bakers oven and a few other things to see if I could make something happened after work last night. I didn't build anything in it. I find it also isn't very functional. I'll post some more pictures of it later so you can get a good look at the roof. It is snowing in Riverview at the moment so it might be a few days before I get around to it. They've used half gables and gables and a round roof in the cake area.

I am however, currently working on a build that I do plan to load to the Exchange. I don't know if I'll put any KPST items in it though. But I probably will add a few decor items - such as the sweets containers.

EDIT: I did have a look at that roof though. They've used friezes and the birthday candles are a series of columns that came out of the KPST.

    EDIT AGAIN:

Here are two more pictures of it in daylight including a close up of the birthday candles on the roof.

    Bakery0009.jpg

    Bakery0010.jpg

I've tried using this in a few games in the past but it seemed pointless as there was nothing to do there. Now it has action.

Thank you again Nik for buying me this bakery set. I plan to have lots of fun with it and will be posting and uploading a few bakery builds.

Hey ceejay. I hope you add a build or two to this thread.

From what I saw last night, the cash register is good as decor. No point in having anyone tend it. The customers all just swipe the items from the displays and the money floats up into the air. I didn't check to see if my sims were receiving it though. They do own the lot.

I'm building one of my own builds now. I'm making another lot similar to my Savvy Seller builds, but I'm putting this one on a smaller lot. It is a 20x30 lot.

good point! i think i sold more when i wasnt tending the register. i do so love so many items created for the bakery and really appreciate the store team trying to fill the OFB hole but its clear to me they are too limited in programing to create a proper store.

cant wait to see you bakery!

It is great seeing pictures of and hearing about how the bakery set is working in your game Karritz :) I will look forward to seeing the bakery that you build.
Your bakery WIP looks great donnabailey :) It looks great how you have done the exterior of the building. Great front entrance area with the 2 angled windows. It looks very nice how you have done the flowers either side in the front exterior of the bakery. The cornices look great . Nice furnishing of the interior. The window displays look great. Sims will enjoy looking in at what is on display before entering the shop. Great setting up of the display shelves and the rack with the stocked food in it.The texture of the walls look great. Nice type of dining tables you have used for sims to enjoy eating the food at. The hanging pot plants on the wall are nice touches. The ceiling spotlights look great there.

    Yes. Definitely.

It keeps them all together and the more people in it the more who can bump it when it gets lost.

There were plenty of roller coasters with their own thread and also in the Roller Coaster thread.

Your Asian takeout looks great CravenLestat :) Great outdoors patio dining area, The statues either side of the entrance looks great. The hanging lamp street light looks nice at night. Great setting up and stocking of the counter and display shelves area. The wall pattern looks great. It is great that you have placed the Japanese grill there for sims to use to cook up food to stock the shelves.

 TY Rose..As mentioned I really don't like this set..the sims team got the look right, the oven right, the animations right the recipes right all the items are great but the way it works is horrid.Don't get me wrong the oven is great in the home which makes it really nice but as a venue its not my cup of tea. Here's to hoping they make a carnival set so I can take my sim wife on a date there.

I have a WIP hopefully it'll turn out to be something nice in the end

i'm really enjoying that my sims can bake now at home and even though the option on the oven is serve once they put the plate down somewhere I can drag and drop to the fridge and they can eat the goodies as leftovers

and again as building with something new with the recipes I wished my sims could make cheesecake or the team could unlock the cheese from the milking it dairy I mean gardener sims can't plant and grow it only give as gift so if there was a way to utilize it for example the two bottles of milk = one cheese = a cheesecake and if we have the bohemian fruits/grandpa's grove strawberry or lemon or orange etc cheesecake anyways a WIP pic sorry it was taken at night so not the best

I put up a bakery in Moonlight Falls
This bakery is on a 30x30 Lot
    You will need Roaring Heights
Into the Future (naturally missing objects will replace if you don't)
Once you have placed this lot in game you need to go to map view click on the venue and select purchase lot. Your sim will then go to the court house to purchase. You cannot purchase through phone or computer using view real estate.
I play tested to be sure everything functions as it should
You do need to go into "buy" mode to fill your display cases.
You can store your creations in the food replicator and use this to fill your cases in the morning. Do not have your sim slave all night to fill the shelves because they delete out overnight. The food replicator will keep them and you can stock your shelves from it in the morning.
My sim only "opens" the business once or twice a week otherwise your sim will have no life. LOL! The oven works fine in your home. Baked items do look very nice. The register looks nice but you don't need to hire a store clerk unless you want too. Customers purchase items from where they stand. They don't go to the register.

    The Entry
    Screenshot-54.jpg
Interior and I included a food replicator up in the kitchen
    Screenshot-3-33.jpg
    Screenshot-8-15.jpg
I did add a back door and the download will have this...I added a children's play area out back.
The kitchen area does give you plenty of room to cook and stock your shelves. I fill the food replicator and then stock the shelves. When it is sold out then I'm done. Like I said, my sim only opens once or twice a sim week.
    Screenshot-5-24.jpg
    I added a barista too.
    Screenshot-2-35.jpg
    To download use this link
    http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=8140388

Please note that when I downloaded the venue it ended up being displayed from the back entrance and I don't know why but none of the furnishings show up inside. Thank-you!
PS: Thought I should add that I do not use mods in my game or third party content and did not use any in-game cheats in the build.

Your WIP is looking great rumbutter :) Great front porch area and upper balcony. It looks great that you have done steps up to the porch. It looks great that you have placed the two front windows for sims to look in through when about to enter the shop. I will look forward to seeing updates or the finished build.

Your bakery for Moonlights Falls looks nice wickichick :) Great texture that you have used for the exterior. It looks nice how you have placed the seat benches in the front entrance area for sims to sit and relax on, and have surrounded the seats with flowers. The tall street lights look great there. They would be especially nice in the evening and in Wintertime. Nice furnishing of the interior. Nice colour shade and pattern that you have used for the walls. The type of dining seats you have used look nice. Nice patterning on the floor. The plane pictures on the walls are nice for sims to see whilst enjoying sitting there eating their food they have bought. It is a great idea to place the food replicator in your build. Great design of the kitchen area, and placement of the display shelves. Sims will enjoy being able to buy a drink from the barista bar to have with the food that they have bought from the display shelves. It is a great build :)
