    @TMUTAYLEE

    You are not going to be able to play on either of those Macs on High or Ultra settings without lag, especially if you have a lot of add on packs installed into the game.

    You need to be realistic. If you're getting a Mac and you want it to play any kind of game on high settings then you need to spend the money on a newer 15" MacBook Pro with the dedicated graphics for a laptop or 27" iMac for a desktop. The ones you have listed are old machines with old hardware in them, presumably second hand? The first one has 16Gb RAM, always preferable to 8Gb. It has a slightly better NVIDIA graphics card but you haven't stated how much VRAM it has - 512Mb, 1024Mb?

    I have upgraded from the second one you listed but without Retina, to the current 15". My old one was fantastic, still is. And the graphics in game looked fantastic as I had all settings on high. It did start to lag though during actual gameplay and I had to download and install the NVIDIA driver rather than use Apple's built in one which is always risky as it's not normal practice on a Mac.

    If you don't want to spend over 2k but want a machine for gaming then you need to get a PC.

    Thanks for the feedback, saved me the hassle of buying a plum computer

    It's not a plum computer, Macs age much better than Windows PCs and hold their value well. It's just an older one. And I would always be wary of buying a second hand one unless I knew it's provenance.

    Cant just upload files directly without earning a cent.

    Why not? Surely you do it because you enjoy doing it and it's a hobby? Some of the more erroneous adverts on adfly automatically download an .exe or .dmg file, they don't execute it but to those who are less tech savvy this is downright dangerous as they may go into their downloads folder and open it, a bit like receiving a dodgy email attachment. As @simmerLella has said, the ads sometimes masquerade themselves as the intended download, tricking the user into downloading something nasty. Sometimes adfly links are even blocked by my ISP because they are known to be malicious.

    It's great that you're making CC but you lose respect by using dodgy practices just for a few quid.

    I am surprised that you dont understand the work that goes into this. Try creating CC in this way. Its not JUST a hobby. Its a day job. People pay for single CC on other websites, people pay for games and its content. Not very logic to assume this goes without costs.

    Every single CC i ever downloaded was made with advertisements, so nothing new.

    Oh I understand perfectly, you shouldn't be so quick to make assumptions. Nevermind, there are plenty of highly regarded, exceptional CC creators who don't use adfly/patreon etc.

    Have you recently installed/updated anything else on your Mac?

    What are you doing in game when it happens - CAS? Live mode? Build/Buy mode? Travelling?l

    What else is running on your Mac when you are playing?

    No, I haven’t recently installed or updated anything on my Mac. It happens in build/buy and live mode, as long as it’s been around 13 minutes. The only other thing that’s running on my laptop is YouTube...however I may or may not have found a solution. I was able to play last night for about an hour, no crashes whatsoever. I saved and quit regularly because it was really late, however the only correlation between last time it stopped crashing and this time, is that when I stopped playing, I shut off my Mac and then the next time I went to play, turned it on and it was fine. So possibly the solution could be just to restart my laptop...it’s ridiculous if that’s the actual solution, and I haven’t (knock on wood) experienced anything yet since my laptop was off. Hopefully this is solved...and that I don’t have any more crashes. If I can remember properly, last time it was crashing, I had just updated/changed a mod (might even be MCC), so maybe restarting the laptop fixed it..? Could be some weird Mac issue or something, I won’t question it if it truly worked, but I’ll be upset if it didn’t. I plan to play for a couple hours tonight, so I’ll keep the thread posted.

    It was most probably a process or even app running in the background that you weren't aware of causing the issue. Restarting your Mac killed the process :)
