@Tremayne4260 I restart my Mac quite often. Also put my "new" game into my dock and tried again and it bounces, origin opens then the screen goes black like it's trying to open then it'll just disappear and I'll need to force quit

Disable Origin in-game, it seems to be causing a lot of issues at the moment.
  • Re: - Can my Mac run The Sims 4? Answers can be found here -

    Okay thankyou kindly @BluebellFlora

I really want to be able to run sims 4 with expansions and cc on high or even ultra. What mac would you recommend to be able to do this? You can recommend an iMac or a Macbook either is fine, or one of each if you are feel like it. And don't worry about a budget as I will just have to save for it over the next few years so price isn't a problem.

    Thankyou in advance!

iMacs are desktop machines but use mobile hardware so are essentially glorified laptops. They're great but nothing compared to a Mac Pro or the new upcoming iMac Pro which have proper desktop CPUs and GPUs. You want 16Gb RAM, a dedicated GPU and ideally an i7 CPU.

If you want to future proof yourself (always a good idea) then go for the top end 15" MacBook Pro with the AMD Radeon Pro GPU with 4Gb RAM for a laptop. Or desktop go for the current top end 21" or any of the 27" iMacs. But if you're looking at not getting one for a few years then come back when you're ready to buy and we can see what Apple will be offering :)

It is quite a nerdy hobby but I enjoy the challenge and helping people. @igazor is a rare breed - super knowledgable about macOS and Windows. I have to use a PC at work now, if you ever watched me use it you'd think I'd never used a computer before! The first computer I ever used was a Mac back in 1988/89..... (god I'm old). One of my Macs is boot camped but as I'm not using CAW anymore, and Sims4Studio has almost caught up with the PC version, it's fairly obsolete.

@puzzlezaddict thanks for the feedback with Ambitions and store stuff :)

Such a thread full of love <3
  • Re: the sims 4 cats and dogs won't properly download on origin

@wavves it's a known issue at the moment. Please can you post in this thread over at EA AHQ? We're collating data and EA are aware of the issue :)
  • Re: Thread for new members to post their Sims 3 game issues

Everything @igazor said, MacBook Airs are great for what they are designed for but gaming absolutely isn't one of them.
Mac Air is not designed to run this game and you do have integrated graphics which may have trouble running this game regardless of having the video card recognized by the game. My card is newer than the game. It is not in the sgr files bit still runs the game and meets requirements. I play on PC. @igazor plays on Mac and is better suited to answer you.

That right there highlights the issue with unsupported Intel cards with certain CPUs stopping the game from loading at all on a Mac. Where Windows users will get the video card not recognised error but the game will still load, Mac users don't get anything and the game will not load. The earliest affected Macs are listed on my website. Never suppose the Mac version of the game performs at all like the Windows version, they're as different as chalk as cheese. That's why the lines must be added to the .sgr files.

Windows version=natively written, Mac version=horrible Cider wrapper.

Howdy, Stranger!
