I think these are very valid and good suggestions, particularly for when we dont ANYTHING new to show. But I also don't want to add content to the stream just for the sake of doing so, particularly because this can pull away the Devs from other things they are working on at that moment. Additionally I want to keep these…
I wont be speaking on the first part, but on the suggestion of making TS4 the forefront of every stream, this is not the purpose of the stream. And TS4 has PLENTY of opportunities to be the only thing showcased and focused on in both the Maxis Monthly streams and other streams. This month we did not have anything to talk…
While I do understand your sentiment, the stream was designed to be all things The Sims and Maxis. While I know this particular forum is for TS4, there is more to the The Sims franchise than just TS4. Maxis has many different things they are working on and supporting and we want to showcase all of them. I do acknowledge…
I commented on this a little earlier, but basically we want to balance how much we announce about the content of the live streams in advance, and what we save to be revealed in the live stream. I dont think there is a perfect solution. Oftentimes it feels like we are between a rock and ah hard place and that no matter what…
It's fine and sometimes healthy to be skeptical. But if you refuse to believe what anyone says, then there is very little value in us continuing to have any conversations.
As I said, as of right now there is no patch, not even an emergency patch, scheduled for January. We did release an emergency patch after the Dec. patch to address some massive bugs that had cropped up for everyone.
We are trying to find a way to balance giving enough information beforehand to prevent unnecessary hype, but also keeping some of the mystery. I am not sure there is a perfect solution.
Like I said, I read frequently but don't often post. And this is true for many of the SimGurus as well. With their current workload, and my personal workload, posting on the forums frequently is not a possibility.
I actually read a lot here on the forums, but don't often get a chance to post or respond. ;) Primary reason being that I am VERY busy and often responses on here take a lot longer to type up. Example, my wall o' text post took me 45-60 minutes and I totally should have been doing my weekly report instead. Hahah.
Noted on that suggestion. Normally I try to start out every stream with a rundown of what to expect, but because we were only focusing on the Alexa Skill yesterday, I didn't do it this time around. That may have been a poor choice. In 2019 I will say that January will not be the only month without a patch.
To be honest it was a huge miss for us to not state at the very beginning it wasn't a paid partnership. It was also a miss that we didn't state that the Alexa Skill was free. We had a lot we wanted to show off about it and missed in that area. So it was absolutely within the rights of the viewer/consumer to think that it…
Ok there are a few things I want to comment on, address, clarify from this thread. First, the comment that the Alexa Skill was developed in partnership with Amazon and that it was paid/sponsored. This is 110% not true. If something is paid or sponsored we legally must disclose that. Amazon did not reach out to us to…
Quickly hoping in to clarify a few things. We actually have a dedicated forum moderator team who is responsible for the forums. They do all the moderation, sticky threads, clean up the forums, etc. That being said, some of our SimGurus do choose to engage here, however it is not expected nor required. I know that though…
Oh someone beat me to it! But yes, SimGuruGrant has just confirmed that it will be switched back to "Newest" in a future update. I can't share the exact date it will happen, but it won't happen in this Thursday's patch. Thank you so much to everyone who provided feedback and insight on this!
Posted a little update about what you can expect from us on Twitch moving forward! http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/945688/lets-talk-about-the-sims-on-twitch
