I do it a lot. I think I've done two saves thus far. One is a complete rebuild (minus del sol valley, haven't opened the save recently) and the other is renovations. I'm working on a third currently, another rebuild. It's a lot of work but well worth it imo.
Jungle Adventure is a tropical world. As for the beach world, what does it really have to offer that we don't have. Everyone complains about having nothing to do in Granite Falls but there isn't anything to do on the beach either.
I know I'm in the (vast, vast) minority here, but I loved into the future. I liked the storytelling aspect of the different futures and liked seeing where my sims descendants were. I had a really good time with it.

Me. If I see something that is missing a mesh, doesn't work so great I use tray importer to find it. If I like it enough I'll look for a mesh but usually I'll just delete. Mods I'm more cautious about.
I'd like the option, for sure. But it would drive me insane with the way my ui is placed. 1-7 sims I'm fine, but once i hit eight the icons are so small i can hardly click them. So i probably wouldn't use it, but it'd be nice to have.
You actually can turn the decorations off! Go into the calendar and edit the holiday. There will be an option to change the decoration type, and there you can select none. But you can still put them up manually if you choose.
I think the machine found already in the vet clinic is different, with no stocking needed. If I were you, save that machine to a room in your library and place the machine where ever. Then delete the room.
