  • Not all of us however are good at building worlds.
  • Good luck. The game is amazing, but all the various EP add so many additional systems that it's inevitable that something breaks somewhere.
  • @StephSteb it's no problem. Wasn't sure if you had been aware that ITF breaks opportunities, which can also break phone calls. So I thought I'd mention it. I think what happens is once you go to the future and return the game forgets to toggle the base world's opportunities back on instead of Oasis Landing ones. And since…
  • Sadly, Sunset Valley is a bad place for trying to be a showman (or woman). There are few to now venues by default, and there's no real community hot spots you can to to for busking. The park sort of works, but there are rarely more then 2 or 3 sims there. And that's only if you send your sim there. Outside of the theater…
  • Know that feeling too. When I bought Seasons, Uni, Pets, and Showtime I got quite annoyed cause the power went out JUST as the last of them finished installing. Power didn't come back on till noon the next day, which annoyed me even further since it meant everything in my fridge and freezer had to be tossed since I'd had…
  • Really, they all add something special. Only pack I don't get much use from normally is ITF. And even then I regularly use the all-in-one toilets, windcarver hover boards, and spherical computer.
  • Not sure. But if they flirt with someone else autonomously, that too resets the counter. Are you sure they didn't flirt with someone while you were focused elsewhere?
  • LOL sort of? I'll admit I've used this world a couple times. But to be honest, for some reason I just didn't like it that much.
  • That's easy. What's not so easy is making it look good and making the slope gentle enough that they can reach the deeper water.
  • Eh, but Late Night is almost certainly already owned due to it being part of the "Starter Pack". Mind you, my first EP (other then Late Night) was Supernatural. I love having Occult types in my game. And while it can sometimes be annoying, zombie attacks on certain nights does add something. Just... Don't try gardening…
  • I know this is a necro, but I thought I'd respond to a question in the OP. What keeps bringing me back is... Well, life. It's not action packed, or filled with brain busting puzzles. I don't need to display precise timing or anything. It's just... Life. There's something so soothing about watching a single sim live their…
  • Actually, most opportunities (for skill and celebrity status at least) do come through the phone. They'll still pop up if the sim is sleeping and doesn't answer the phone, so I'd assume in that case it was a text message that gets checked in the morning.
  • Me, my arms are too much like jello right now to even think of playing a game. Even one as low intensity as Sims 3. Why? Well... this was the last part of my workout routine today. That's on normal?! My god, normal for that song is like Hard on any other song I've done. I wasn't anywhere near as good as the linked video.…
  • Yeah, ITF breaks opportunity calls. And by extension seems to break normal phone calls too when you return from the future. You might have noticed the phone ringing, your sim answering it angrily, then hanging up. This is why. They only break once you return from the future though. Hopefully this helps you.
  • With a baby on the way, Leo knew he had to keep working. So with much regret he agreed to a lengthly tour. Kathy complained about her shower not working, while Ranko complained about how much Kathy stank. One of these had an instant solution in the form of genie magic. The other... "Well, then why don't you go fix your…
  • When the bathroom sink is broken, and you automatically grab a hammer to fix things. In my defense, the problem was the cold water tap handle wasn't moving, so I was using a hammer to turn off the faucet. I then grabbed a small philips screwdriver to loosen the screw holding the handle in place enough that it can be moved…
  • Hmm, do you have Into the Future? And if so, do you use the Opportunity Fix mod? Because I found that without that mod ITF breaks not just opportunities once you go to the future and return once, but also can break receiving non-opportunity calls.
  • I too have to throw my vote in for Seasons. It just adds so much to the immersion. That said, I can't run a Sims save without World Adventures anymore. The No Bills Ever LTR is just too 🐸🐸🐸🐸 useful.
  • What I do, and this may or may not help you much, is I turn off Aging unless there are children. Then once the children reach Young Adult I turn it off.
  • You double posted You double posted :D
  • I just spent far too long trying to gently clean my computer monitor (actually it's a 50 inch 4k TV that was too big for my entertainment center) because of that random period you include in your posts.
  • Not every military base is actually of strategic value. The one near where I live for example is more a place to bunk the recruiting personnel, at most. It's used most often by the local National Guard and only has a handful of permanent staff. And apparently discipline there is so lax that half the National Guard members…
  • Even if you never use a given expansion's World, they all still have a lot to offer. New cloths, new build/buy items, new skills, new jobs, new Lifetime happiness rewards, and so forth. That alone makes them worth buying.
  • Aside from all the Super Spies and Super Criminals that make their home there, what sort of strategic value is there to blowing up any of the Sims towns?
  • I'd say they all are worth it. The IP world is one of my favorites. Haven't had too many routing issues, but they can occur on some of the beaches.
  • Really, I've never had problems with Traveling. I know some do, but this has never been an issue for me. I've had families move from Sunset to Bridgeport then to Isle Paradisio. Or from Midnight Hollow to Dragon Valley. And I've gone back and forth between Oasis Landing and the 'present' many times. Also have had sims take…
  • I don't really use much custom content. Actually, don't think I have any installed right now. But I am thinking of buying more Sim Points so I can snag more Store content. As if the $250 or $300 (can't remember exactly how many sim points I've bought so far) I've already spent isn't enough.
  • I'm curious what the child's species will be. Mother is a genie, and father is a fae.
  • OMG, Bridgeport looks so pretty in the winter. I might have to do another save set there. I've been choosing Sunset Valley most of the time. There, or the Isle Paradise one.
  • You know, the hardest part of chronicling a Sims 3 game here is knowing what events are worth noting, when to take screenshots, and what is just everyday events. But... I think that's a lot of the charm of Sims 3. It's not high drama or nonstop action. There's no set pieces with explosions going off all around you. No mind…
