Wow. It's been at least 5 years since I've been active here. Life really gets in the way sometimes. Looking forward to catching up on some good stories here. I've been updating my stories website and posting some new stuff. Not doing any challenges right now, just some freeform storytelling at MsPhy's Sim Stuff.
Q1: Crosspack! Sorry, no ideas here. Q2: If some “Crochet-Like” objects became craftable through Knitting, how would you personally feel? Love it! Q3: There’s a cool crafty desk floating around in concept art that you guys may have seen (49 - 52 in the object vote). What would knitting at one of these desks mean to you, if…
You Got: 37% cat person and 63% dog person! You are a dog person! You love coming home from work and being tackled by your fave buddy, and seeing a dog on the street makes your day. You should absolutely get a dog if you haven't got one already. My real fur babies. Well, I recently had to say goodbye to my little buddy,…
I realize I resurrecting a old thread here, but I've been away from the game a bit. My baby got notification of gifts from two aunts when she aged to toddler. Have not seen them yet. Does it take a few days? Do you get a notification when you check the mail and they come? When they are delivered? I've been watching her…
I had my first attempted break-in in quite some time now, yesterday. Vlad came to the back door while everyone was asleep (front and back doors both locked except to household). Got the creepy music, funky vampire walk, couldn't save game due to vampire breaking in, etc., but he didn't come in, I guess because the door was…
I know you can use the flea market table in your front yard and start a "yard sale." People will stop and buy/not buy stuff. The will also go inside your house, which I don't much like, but if I lock the doors, not as many people stop by. Not sure about the rug.
I read that if you lock the doors at night, it keeps Vlad out, so I started doing that, and lo and behold, it worked! Much easier than reading up on vampire lore, growing garlic, and making a wreath to hang by the door.
I had a toddler with a meltdown (in-game) today. I think the mom's parenting skill might be at 6. She had the parenting option to address the child's behavior, and on option was "hug through melt-down." Worked like a charm. I've been trying to help my Sims have higher parenting skills, and I found that if I "checked on"…
Does the lot have the "mean streak" trait, maybe? I didn't realize how much difference it could make in family interactions until I tried it for a challenge. When you say "fighting," you mean just arguing/being mean, right? Not fist-fights? Sounds like the parents need to get firm and give those kids a talking to. But…
I used to go into Sims 2 with SimPE and "fix" relationships. It was a two-tiered thing. If there was a step-parent, I could make them have parent-child relationship on the one tier, while on the other tier they were not technically related. I didn't like Sims 3 much, but the blended family relationships they got right.…
My kid came home in that outfit (with turban) after he got a "A" the first time. I posted about it, and folks said that had been happening. Also happening for promotions in some careers.
He won't age. He's one of those "special" ones from San Myshuno that @luthienrising mentioned, above. Before I knew about those types, I had my legacy founder marry one. Took me awhile to figure out she wasn't aging. Then my legacy heir married another one! Use the cheats she mentioned above to remove those hidden traits.…
I was getting ready to move my household to another house, and was packing up the stuff I wanted to take with, including the garlic wreath that hangs by the front door. No sooner had I done that and entered live mode, than here comes Vlad. Couldn't exit, move the family, nothing. I mean, THE very instant I put the wreath…
Garlic wreath. My Sim autonomously went to the computer to read about vampires, which apparently "opened the door" for Vlad to come by and drink his blood that night. Planting garlic by the door did not seem to help, but the wreath sends him away every time.
I have a toddler about to age to child. Will be interesting to see where his grades start. Before Parenthood, they always started at C, no matter what.
I'm not sure if this is a glitch or intentional. My family had 2 parents, 2 teens, and 1 toddler. Both teens and the toddler were exhausted. I sent Mom to read the toddler to sleep and sent Dad to take a shower. Then on the teens I clicked on their energy bar to have them auto-resolve to go to bed. However, they didn't do…
I haven't had a lot of time to play, but so far I am taking delight in discovering the little things, like setting the table. I'll give it a 9 for now. Just had a new baby born; once he becomes an adult, I'll be in a better position to make an assessment. In the meantime, I'm having at least a 9 worth of fun!
I've been rather pleased that I've not been seeing any LEs or script errors or anything since Parenthood (knock wood), except that the new toddler table doesn't seem to be usable by toddlers. Others are experiencing that too, though, so it can't be attributed to MCCC.
I haven't experienced that. The weird thing has been that the gardener who takes care of the public garden two lots down keeps coming to chat with her while she's working in her garden. Never experienced that before.
I haven't gotten as far as aging my children to adulthood, but from what I read, trait development--for better or worse--does lead to consequences. Don't read this if you don't like spoilers: http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/gamepacks/parenthood/values.php
