  • @JC1979 I downloaded and tested the home but did not experience the issue with it; I'm sorry. @tenaciousb420 Ah, I didn't know about that trick - wish I had! But they may well have tightened up the code and "fixed" it. I downloaded one of your builds, and it looks like at least your previous work has been preserved. I…
  • Hi, everyone! I apologize for my long silence here; I have been super busy in real life for the past couple of months and haven't kept up with the forum like I normally would. @ThingyChan I know it was ages ago, but if you are still having any trouble with your build, it would help if you could post some images to show the…
  • Something else I discovered in the course of trying to catch up on my backlog of testing - in case anyone here doesn't already know, you can press SHIFT and use your mouse scroll wheel to select a smaller (down to the tile) size of terrain to manipulate.
  • Oh, and for any that haven't already figured it out, the technique for split leveling has changed quite a bit. I found a good tutorial that explains it here. :) And it might be one more day before I can respond here, sorry!
  • Sorry I've been MIA, all - holiday was super busy and I haven't been able to catch up with everything yet! I'll be answering any questions here tomorrow.
  • @gmcrozier yes, sounds like it. Did you try removing the paintings as well?
  • @gmcrozier paint by reference was bugged in the past, so I'd try testing by removing them. If you do have any mods/CC, of course try removing them first.
  • @Kementari is your build on the gallery by any chance? If not, I will try to duplicate what I can see of the structure from your images. Which lot were you using? Did you try placement/building on a different lot?
  • @akemi yes, that's been reported here. Please click on the "Me Too" button if you wouldn't mind. :)
  • Hey, all! The newest patch adds a lot for build mode - terrain manipulation at last! - and likely will come along with its own set of quirks/bugs. I'll be testing everything over the next few days and will let you know about any fixes as well. If you find anything buggy or strange, please post so that we can look into it /…
  • Yep, probably the most exciting thing to happen to build mode since... well, since the game launched! :D Can't wait to get my hands on the tools and see what others do with them as well. :)
  • @yagwit we do have those items on our list. No word on when/if we might get them of course, but devs are aware of the list. Also, if you are willing to use mods/CC, I also referenced this list to Twisted Mexi, who is an incredibly inventive modder. I wouldn't be surprised if he winds up adding some of it in. I'm committed…
  • @Kementari and here's the AHQ link. Please click "Me Too" everyone who may be experiencing this. :)
  • @Kementari I've been able to reproduce the lag in my own game, and yes, it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the neighborhood. I experienced on both of the lots you used as well. Also, after testing with a gargantuan build, I tested on the preset build in the Windenburg neighborhood and encountered lag as well,…
  • Yes, it was great, although revisiting that old thread, it was clear not everyone was a fan. :p Would love to see them revive it or set up other contests again though!
  • @kementari @withlovejulien is this only happening in Brindleton Bay or in other neighborhoods as well? I believe the lag problem reported before was specific to Brindleton Bay. I'll test in my game @Kementari; I assume you're building a very large structure, since you're using the 64x64 lot? I'll download something…
  • @withlovejulien that is indeed a strange one! I was able to reproduce what you're seeing with it in my game as well, and I'm not having the issue with other outdoor rooms. One thing that I noticed was that after deleting what seemed to be a certain number of fence pieces (I did not count them exactly but will probably go…
  • Ah, the memories! Yep, I remember that contest. :) I did indeed win a 3D printer! No trip to Sims Camp though. I can't recall whether people all won the same prizes or different prizes though...
  • Just thought I should provide clarification regarding the build, Rose; no offense intended. :) I had downloaded the build to take a look, as we have had bugs in the past with objects disappearing and such, and I thought it might be that. However, I could quickly see that the objects were just placed outdoors with no…
  • @AznChaos the rocks on Kaleidow's build dropped because they were not raised up while either upon a foundation or from a basement room. Objects dropping to the ground in outdoor space has been a thing since bb.moveobjects was released (take a look at our MOO thread for details), and it is unfortunately, by design. Builders…
  • @Luke111 if you'd like to upload your build to the Gallery, I could download it and do some testing. Just call it something like "Test Ceiling Problem" and/or provide me with the link to it in this thread. Tag me here if you'd like to pursue this.
  • Oh! @saunaplease somehow I missed the part where you'd exposed the basement. Yeah, saunas require an indoor area to function, and once you remove the ceiling from a room, be it basement or aboveground, it's no longer consider indoors. That behavior's by design, and I think the whole point of a sauna is that it works by…
  • Oh my, yes, I mistook the date. :D
  • Note that you apply and remove decorations using the Attic box in live mode, not build/buy. Your sim has to interact with the box.
  • @SomeBratInAMask If you have not done so already, I highly recommend that you 1) remove any CC/mods, 2) clear your cache, 3) repair the game via Origin, and 4) test the lot/build in a fresh save. For that much stuff to go missing/be changed from loading a save, it sounds like corruption to me. If taking those steps does…
  • @cinebar Just wanted to hop in and note that I was unable to reproduce this in my game. My maps is immediately showing the changes in the lot when I go to map view. Did this happen even after you saved/exited/reloaded? Did you try the same thing in a fresh save? Are you using any mods/CC? Are you on PC or Mac?
  • Did I miss anyone? Hope not! But if I did, please repost. :)
  • @halpal1212 I'm not on Mac either. The behavior on PC is definitely as sawdust describes, with the room tool removing the exterior wall paint but the single wall tool not doing so if you do not use it over the pre-existing wall. I would recommend posting your issue on AHQ here, so that someone with a Mac can test it and…
  • @Gagea I was able to reproduce the spandrel issue and have added it to AHQ here. Please click on the "Me Too" button to bring dev attention to the issue. @jojoMOMSTER I am able to place tiles by dragging without any issues using the "By Tile" option. If you use the "By Room" option, it requires a room. @tckol I could not…
