Hey, chicvibe! You responded to my comment a while back. I believe a November 8th post and you recommended Sims4Studio and something else to help with my mod problem. My mod problem is basically having to delete/remove CC and other script mods and placing them back. My main issue with that is the fact I would have write down every mod I have by hand because I don't know if how to duplicate my mod folder, if that even makes sense lol. I was reading you can copy and paste you mod folder elsewhere per say so you wont have to do the tedious hand writing but I haven't had any such luck with my own efforts or I am just completely doing things wrong. I was wondering if Sims4Studio does that for me? That is, make it easier or just possible for me to move all my mods else where and work from there? Idk if you can see this or if this is even the right place to put this but I didn't want my question for you to get lost in a forum, please get back to me if you can and thanks for the reply/advise!

Hi - sorry for the late response. I am usually on Modthesims more than I am here.

Sims 4 Studio is a user-friendly program where it will scan your mods folder. You can then see everything you have in your mods folder, like a photo album (except pose files, script files, because those aren't "visual" files, so to speak.) You can then determine if you have duplicates, or if you change your mind about a download, you can delete it directly from your mods folder. It can also fix files for you - by running a tool called batch fix - to update files for recent patches.

Go to sims4studio and download the program for your pc or mac (they have a version for both). Use the installer version, and it will install where it needs to go. When you first open it, there is a blue screen where it scans your folder. On the upper left corner there is a "tools" button, where you click and it will have a batch fix by category, CAS or objects. Select and let it run through your folder. It will make a backup (in your documents folder, underneath your Electronic Arts folder) of everything it fixed. Feel free to delete the batch fixes, as these files are kinda useless unless you are a creator who can use them.

This will fix things like errors where mirrors won't go on the walls, or maybe the hair looks funky. It won't fix script call errors, because most likely, you are missing an original mesh and only have a recolor.

For script files, that change the game play, like say you have a mod to make your sims kiss longer or do the funky chicken - script files need to be updated by the creator.

Check out Simsvip and search November list of broken mods.

this has a most fantastic list of updated mods that, if you do not update, your game is either seriously broken or will make you crazy with weird borky things. You must do this - it will make you happy to have a cleaned up, fixed game.

As far as duplicating your mods folder, you need a second drive to do that- because dragging a folder anywhere on your c: drive will simply move it. If you have a d: drive on your computer or an external drive that would be helpful.

If you need more help, please feel free to respond. Since I am on holiday break, I will check the sims forum more often.

You can also private message me if you want me to look at your mods folder. I have fixed other people's folders - sometimes fresh eyes can help when you have a lot of stuff to look at. let me know. You can upload to dropbox and send me a link, then once I fix your folder I can send it back to you.

I don't judge, and I don't keep the mods. My folder is perfect the way it is and I don't like it getting too bloated or my game slows. I am also pretty good at finding stuff if you need help locating something.

I hope I have answered your questions, but you are welcome to ask more. I like to help folks enjoy the game, so please ask.
