A poll, IMO, is a bad idea. It will tell them which ONE of the choices we would like and I want all of them, not just the "winner" of the poll. If they read this thread, they will see that we are interested in a lot of options, not just one.

but it might bring more attention to some of the ideas in case they don't see this
and it would be fun to see what people like most out of some of them

I just want an advanced mode venue with no checklist that actually attracts random NPC sims who show up and use/interact with whatever's there...You know, like TS2 community lots were. Generic lots have no checklist, but they don't attract NPC's, which is a bummer. On the other hand, the official venue types all have checklists of items which must be there, which really restricts you in terms of being able to build what you want, how you want it to be...and you always have to buy some pack or another just to get one more little option for another functional community lot. It's a pain! So, yeah, give me an advanced mode to make a working community lot without a checklist, and I'll be happy.
There are so many venues that would be incredible to have in TS4 that would make our worlds feel more alive and diverse. These are my wish list venues:
* Beauty Salon- new gameplay objects- beauty station and tattoo parlor- active career- Stylist- our sims could own their own beauty salon where they can style NPCs with new hairstyles, makeup, tattoos and facial piercings.
* Grocery Store- we can already cheat around a grocery store, but it would be great to have a grocery store/farmer's market where our sims could go and purchase rare ingredients.
* Occult Shop- a place where our occult sims can go to purchase potion ingredients, potions, spell books, charms, elements- runes and crystals, and magical objects.
* Catwalk (with the ability to create design studios on residential lots)- sims can become a fashion designer and design Collections and hire models to showcase their Collections on the catwalk. Our sims could hire the model (up to 5 models for the limit), a photographer, and a host for the fashion shows.
* Theater of the Arts (not a movie cinema)- a place where sims can go to watch plays, dance, or watch the opera. This would also open up new active careers such as Actor, Dancer and Singer careers. We could design the sets for the theater, choreograph the dance, and select the type of music our sims sing during the show.
* Arena- for our athletes a venue where sims can play professional sports or an active career- Professional Athlete- to perform a series of different types of sporting events- Basketball, Ice Hockey, and Soccer.
I think you'd probably be able to the ice cream one if you made a restaurant with a custom menu that had only soda and ice cream on it. I *think* you can make a restaurant that only serves one course (i.e no dessert or main course, just a drink and an appetizer), Idk though.
I've been playing around with dine out though, with mods and such, and it's v. hard to decrease the wait times to something more realistic, but it's a start. I definitely like the sweet shop idea though, and I *hate* skate rinks irl (I'm the one that clings onto the edges and insists they're gonna die) but it would be cool if they introduced it to the sims.
Before Dine Out, a friend of mine made an ice cream shop using GTW's retail system. Worked great other than elder Sims who showed up kept dying, including employees. Or just offer stuff like burgers and hot dogs (including the veggie versions) and a couple of simple appetizers and drinks (maybe just non-alcoholic stuff like iced tea or water, then list all the ice creams for dessert. I've heard if you have a couple of ice cream makers in the kitchen that makes service faster, but not sure if that's just an Urbz legend.
With skating (ice and roller) coming in Seasons, I'm converting my Old Salt House howling lanes into a roller skating center; it'll be a good place to get out of the rain and I've got two other bowling alleys anyway (one in Oasis Springs and the other at Magnolia Promenade).

And you can add your own cartoony animal animatronics,too! Maybe we would be able to choose the animal breed,the clothes,the colors and any props/musical instruments..customize your animatronic just like we can customize our pets!

If only the gurus gave us a new patch that allowed for 'custom venue' that gave us the ability to create any type of venue we wanted into our neighborhood. This way we could create actual outlet malls that our sim owned or could shop at.
We could use in a drop-down list everything the new venue offered:
* Bakery
* Coffee Shop
* Library
* Restaurant
* Bar
This way we could then create the ultimate coffee shop where sims could purchased baked goods, grab a latte, purchase a great read or work on a novel, while ordering a 5-star dish while listening to someone recite poetry, showoff their piano skills, or perform a comedy act.

A county fair, or carnival. Would be good in a farming pack, and an Autumn event. Rides like ferris wheels, small roller coasters. A fun house. Games include; ball toss, strength test, dunking booths, others. Pie eating contests, cow and pig judging contests. A beauty pagent to judge Miss, Sim. Foods include; corn dogs, funnel cakes, barbeque.

I guess an visitable children's home? The orphanage would be gray and dark, mess painting the halls with screams and crying through the paper thin walls. The children would be forced to wear uniforms intended to be their clothes. The caretakers can't cook and serve gruel to the children while they go home and eat a 3 course meal with their happy families. Each home is able to carry up to 16 children while having 4 staff staff members. 8 bed rooms, 3 bathrooms, 1 big cafeteria, 1 kitchen, 1 storage room, 1 study,1 lobby,1 children activity room and of course a garden where all the plants are dead.
After a child,toddler or baby is neglected, instead of being deleted, they'll be sent to a children's home where they are raised until their they grow up to be young adults. However,they won't be able to leave the home. Everything in their development such as, traits, character (w/ parenthood) and school performance would be randomized, however, would be commonly negative from having an absent parent figure in their childhood. Sad-struck parents would be able to visit the home and interact with their spawn, however they may not be moved back out. If a child had a good relationship with a family member before being taken, after the day they leave the home, they would visit their childhood home and bond with their family and try to move back in, otherwise the child would move to a random home.
I know the sims 4 is more of a joke-ey game, but i wanna have a lil angst m8 >:0

You could download a castle and fill it with things to make it a museum. I might try this myself.
