The design and furnishing of Metallic Kitchen is very nice! @Cbear13 The wall texture, silvery beaded curtains, and the metallic themed furnishings throughout the room areas looks very effective and great! They reflect the metallic theme very well! It is a very cresatively designed room! The layout looks great! Very nice double stoves nook! It looks great how the counters have been placed there. The metallic utensils, cutlery and hanging pans are nice touches on the walls. The metallic wall decor looks great! Sims will enjoy having a drink from the drinks tray during or after cooking their meal. The design of the bar stool counter looks great! It is very nice that there are double aquariums for sims to enjoy looking at the fish whilst sitting on the stools eating a meal. The double sink nook is great. The vertical row of different sized sun wall decor looks great! It looks great how you have done the wall area with the olive oil bottles and drinks cabinet.
It is a very nice metallic themed kitchen! I don’t think that you are “ rusty” at all! The room is very nice!
@Bolonkafrauchen I am just sitting down doing some judging and noticed your comment on your entry form about having trouble placing the items on top of your cabinets.
The easiest way to do this is to place your cabinets then grab the items you want to place on top and place on floor beneath. Select the item and press the "9" key to raise up to the right height. Once there hold down ALT button and place in position you want. After you have placed everything on cabinets then place your counters, tables or shelving beneath the cabinets.
It can be very annoying having tables, counters and even shelves under where you want to place items in a custom way as they will keep looking to lock into a default place on these items.
It should be much easier without any of these items that have default spots for items to sit anywhere near where you want to place them.
I hope that works and was the issue needing fixing
A few more tips to remember:
I'd like to remind everyone that we do check if items are placed too high on walls and stick into the ceiling. To check this angle your camera to look up to the ceiling and check around the walls to see if anything placed too high.
Also remember the rooms are designed to attach to a building or house. Remember that when placing your windows and doors. You wouldn't have windows on the same wall as your entrance door, nor would you have windows all the way around.
These are simple mistakes that can cost you valuable points from judging.
We have done most of the judging so far so if you do by chance have any of the issues I have mentioned it will be too late to fix but keep them in mind for your next entries

@Cbear13
Why should not you have windows on the same wall as your entrance door? If the entrance door is connected to a corridor, a similar situation could arise.
@Valuzza90 I have judged and always set these room challenges to be easy to attach the rooms to a building or house so since day one have always stated that rooms should be easily attached with windows not being on the same side as the entrance door or having windows on all sides.
Having them on the same side does not make it easy to attach to most buildings/houses.
@jhgkjhgkjh Oh and thanks for the compliment on my chalkboard wall! I must say your room was also an awesome industrial kitchen, and I adore the fold up chairs hanging on the wall. Details like that are just to die for I had a "why didn't I think of that" moment

Same here with your chalkboard wall. Why haven't I thought of something neat and cool like this... I keep on looking forward to your entries and buildings.

I can't take all credit though. I normally get ideas from googling, or from other Simmers I may very well steal your 'fold up chair on the wall' in a later build some times... haha!

It is not stealing, but quoting and quoting is always a huge compliment.

Notes about entry: I tried different styles and color scheme and then stick to cream desert tones combined with darker woods, light stone and splashes of blue (like a peacock). For the fireplace I tried something different, instead of intergrating it into the lounge area, I combined it with the bar as I thought of Gerard hanging around with is friends and a couple of drinks talking about buisiness while the ladies play some bridge nearby and chat about Bernice latest additions to her art collection.
Throughout I decorated the room with various photos of Oasis Spings, taken by my Test-Sim (oh, he is good!)
Images (2 - 6 images):
Top view:
reading nook (one shelf is only decoration, but the other is fully usable)
bar and fireplace - Gerard left his drink and the maid didn't clean it up...
lounge area and to the right one of the masterpieces (my Test-Sim painted it, I'm proud of him!)
bridge table and the other masterpiece on the left wall
showing as much of the room as possible (not easy) and the piano Gerard loves to play for his guests)

The design and layout of the living room looks very nice! @jhgkjhgkjh Very nice bar area! The design of the bar and fireplace combined together looks creatively great! Sims will enjoy siitting on the stools there having a drink from the bar. The drinks wall shelves are a nice touch there. The photos that your sim has taken and the masterpiece paintings add such a very special look to the room! Very nice music corner nook for sims to enjoy playing the piano. It is nice that there is an armchair corner nook for sims to enjoy resting there reading a book from the bookshelf. Very nice sofa and armchairs sitting area for sims to sit, relax and chat there. The candles and flowers are pretty and calming on the coffee table, and on the roofing over the sofa seat nook. They will have fun playing games on the card table. The patterned curtains look very nice in the room.
It is a very nicely furnished living room
@jhgkjhgkjh your living room is very nice. The color combination is perfect to add a elegant, calm and relaxing look to the environment.
The design of lounge area, photos and paintings make the room Unique!
