The Victorian Living Challenge

Have your grandparents or aunts or uncles or parents ever told you, "You wouldn't have survived in my day. The way your generation just play hapily all day long. Why, in my day..." and on they go.
But, really, how hard can it be?
I mean, minus the computer.
And television.
And central heating.
And oven.
And...erm... oh most of the clothes in your wardrobe.
And a lot of the food in your cupboard.

Hm....

Starting

Create a new game and a new household containing one sim:
  • They must be a young adult
  • They can be of either gender although female can be slightly more interesting and challenging
  • In terms of traits, you can choose whatever ones you want HOWEVER having some (or all) as money-making traits may help (ie kleptomaniac, creative, ect)
  • Their aspiration can be either a) fabulously wealthy or b) mansion baron (both under fortune)
  • Try to give your sim Victorian style clothing, such as long silky dresses, fancy hairdoes, suits, ect. See my sim below, created with CC, for some inspiration (I will let you use CC in terms of appearance but NOTHING ELSE MAY BE DONE WITH CC UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED. Note: don't worry about different swimwear/athletic/nightwear. Just keep swimwear/athletic as your usual clothing for this sim, try your nightwear as a light dress/frock.
  • Also don't make them overly fat/fancy. Your sim will be fairly poor for a part of this - they are not royalty, at least not yet.

Now, move them onto the biggest residential lot you can find.
Build them a small-scale mansion style thing - remember NO MONEY CHEATS. Scrap that, NO CHEATS UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED. There. I've said it now. :) also see post below before building BTW

BUILDING RULES

Here is a list of building rules, which must be abide at all times.
  • No televisions, smoke alarms, computers, music players, ovens, fridges, etc allowed. I will talk about fridges, stoves, etc later in this set of rules for building
  • No lampshades or electric lights. You can purchase candles and fireplaces for lighting.
  • Each room (bedroom, lounge, kitchen, study,) must have a fireplace. As there is no central heating, this will provide warmth. You do not have to have one in the bathroom or corridors/landings.
  • Try to keep the general style and objects old-fashioned.
  • The only oven that your sim may have is the "Auld Crow Wood-Burning Cookstove" and the only fridge you can use is the "IceBOX Vintage Refrigerator" .
  • No phones as well.
  • The only music player allowed is the "Grammyfone Old-Fashioned Music Player".
  • Note: I have realised that you require a computor to write. Thus, the cheapest computer may be purchased, but used only to write and pay the bills.

The Aim!

Goals:

This is a 10 generation legacy with other goals.
The main aim is to, by the time your 10th generation begins, have had at least 1 HEIR (not just a non-heir child or spouse, the actual heir) complete their aspiration.
The other aims include finishing your legacy with no gaps.
Throughout this challenge there are also many sub-rules, such as what jobs you are allowed to get, what people to talk to, etc. These must all be followed.
There are also other sub-goals throughout too.

Generel Rules

JOBS MEN CAN GET:

Business
Culinary
Painter
Writer

JOBS WOMEN CAN GET:

Painter
Writer

They can also make money gardening, painting, singing or writing at home. Women do not have to go to work although men have to.

Spouses will be found by general socialising .
Only "try for baby" no "Woo-Hoo".
Only try for children AFTER the couple have been married.

No birth at hospital (if you have GTW)
No GTW jobs.

If you are unsure of something please please please ask. Do not go ahead, it may be breaking the rules aka forfeiting the challenge!!! *shock horror*
Make sure the house and clothing of your sims is Victorian style. Go ahead and look it up if in doubt!

Make sure to post if you completed the challenge, any rule conflicts/disagreements, any suggestions, anything to improve this challenge!
