When I was young and played TS3 I used to think about this all the time. I had watched so many Sims 3 murder series that I made myself be too scared to get into a pool in case someone put a wall around the side. Lol!
I don't think we're living in a simulation. The forgetting what you were supposed to be doing thing just comes from us being human, our brains process so much information that it's easy for us to sometimes forget what seems obvious.
If I'm wrong though, I wouldn't mind some motherlode action in my life!
