@Jude525 : Yeah, those png files come up as a false positive. It only happens if you do a "Save file" from the Exchange, and not if you download them directly to the launcher. (That is something you would only want to do if you are NOT in-game. If you're in-game, the Exchange item will install automatically, and if there's CC in it... then that gets installed, too.)
If you download to the launcher, then look at the file using Cleaner before actually doing the install, you'll notice that the png files are missing. It's a known bug with the Exchange; for whatever reason, the png files that get put into the lot automatically before you upload show up OK, but once the item is downloaded from the Exchange, those same png files show as corrupt.
It doesn't mean anything, because those files get wiped during the install process from what is installed into the game.
One thing you need to be careful about with Cleaner, however, because some CC isn't so obvious. If you run cleaner on a downloaded lot from the Exchange, and it says ANYTHING in the sub-type field - even if there's only one .package showing in the download - the download is NOT safe. It means there is CC in there. If there's only one package file showing, and it still gives a sub-type, then the file can't be cleaned of the CC. If you don't want CC getting installed into your game that you don't know what it is or where it comes from, then don't install that lot.

That's a really good idea!
One thing I hadn't thought to mention; when downloading worlds, they will ALWAYS show up as corrupt, and as though they're CC, even if the world is CC free. No idea what you can do about that. My guess is that EA is unable to see what's inside the world file, so just assumes there is CC in it that's hidden from it.
I've downloaded quite a few worlds, but when you download a world, you just need to be aware that it might have more than you want.

Ok so I just got the Chun Co. Grill at #546 today, and that made the best of 2012 Free which was pretty cool. And now with that looking at the Edwardian stuff I want to get down the line the Jan 2012 Comp is currently 85 Sim Points for me. Does this mean that if I wait for Deal #801 Steampunk Kitchen- Grease Gear Cleansing Dishwasher since that is normally 85 points but the deal then will make it 36, that would be the best way for me to get the Edwardian Kitchen at the cheapest price coming up? Along with the extra's that comes with.

I'm still trying to get the hang of this multiple folders approach to cc organization. But I will keep this in mind once I've got it worked out and get a rhythm going.

In my documents folder I have a folder named EA, inside that folder I have individual folders for my different games and they are named as follows: Test cc, No cc, main game, and Burgess legacy. The legacy game is a different folder cause it's the only one where story progression is allowed. In the test cc folder there's a small lot world called CAS that loads in about a minute just for testing cc or installs.
It took me awhile to get it organized to the point where I was comfortable with it. I learned one thing the hard way, make sure to move your current Electronic Arts folder out BEFORE you put the next one in, and when you drag and drop your Electronic Arts folder back to its folder make sure it goes in the RIGHT folder. I accidentally combined my no cc and cc folders once and ... NIGHTMARE!!
Anyway, some people are able to do this by renaming their individual The Sims 3 folders inside the Electronic Arts folders, but I just couldn't keep that straight!

There are also folders for mods, current and archived and actual tools, such as Custard and the Simdex. So, yeah, that. *grin*

When looking at items to lower your CYS remember that your CYS is reduced by 90% of the regular price of an item.
You posted your CYS for Jan 2012 compilation is 85 simpoints. If you wait for Deal 801, the CYS reduction is estimated to be (85-9) 76 simpoints. Your CYS would be 9 and if the CYS is still rounded to 5 sp, the final amount could be 10 or 5 sp. You spend between 36 to 46 sp.
I think Deal # 663, Edwardian Expression Kitchen- Toasty Fine Flame Finish Stove, might be a better choice. Its daily deal price is 26 sp. The regular price is 90 sp. The Enchanted Bundle of Dark Dealings currently shows a discount down to 265 Simpoints with the set completed to 78% So I assume when Deal #19 comes back around that would be the time to get it for free?
The April 2012 Compilation is listed at 585 Simpoints with 56% complete. Does that mean when Sizzle Fryer comes up at 849 it might be free?

@EverclearBoy Sizzle Fryer won't be free at 849. Your CYS only work for the set, not for individual items or subsets. You have a reduction in price for April 2012, not for Sizzle Fryer or Haute Hacienda Dining. The cheapest way to go now to own the whole compilation is DD 735, 189, 400 and after DD 845. That should make April 2012 free, and give you Sizzle Fryer.
Edit: @EverclearBoy You will get Enchanted Bundled of Dark Dealings for free at either deal 19 or deal 112 (but #19 is sooner).

If you download to the launcher, then look at the file using Cleaner before actually doing the install, you'll notice that the png files are missing. It's a known bug with the Exchange; for whatever reason, the png files that get put into the lot automatically before you upload show up OK, but once the item is downloaded from the Exchange, those same png files show as corrupt.
It doesn't mean anything, because those files get wiped during the install process from what is installed into the game.
One thing you need to be careful about with Cleaner, however, because some CC isn't so obvious. If you run cleaner on a downloaded lot from the Exchange, and it says ANYTHING in the sub-type field - even if there's only one .package showing in the download - the download is NOT safe. It means there is CC in there. If there's only one package file showing, and it still gives a sub-type, then the file can't be cleaned of the CC. If you don't want CC getting installed into your game that you don't know what it is or where it comes from, then don't install that lot.

What I do is install the lot in a fresh install folder, not the one I use to play, and then look in downloads in the launcher to see if anything else got installed, just an extra precaution.
One thing I hadn't thought to mention; when downloading worlds, they will ALWAYS show up as corrupt, and as though they're CC, even if the world is CC free. No idea what you can do about that. My guess is that EA is unable to see what's inside the world file, so just assumes there is CC in it that's hidden from it.
I've downloaded quite a few worlds, but when you download a world, you just need to be aware that it might have more than you want.

I'm still trying to get the hang of this multiple folders approach to cc organization. But I will keep this in mind once I've got it worked out and get a rhythm going.

In my documents folder I have a folder named EA, inside that folder I have individual folders for my different games and they are named as follows: Test cc, No cc, main game, and Burgess legacy. The legacy game is a different folder cause it's the only one where story progression is allowed. In the test cc folder there's a small lot world called CAS that loads in about a minute just for testing cc or installs.
It took me awhile to get it organized to the point where I was comfortable with it. I learned one thing the hard way, make sure to move your current Electronic Arts folder out BEFORE you put the next one in, and when you drag and drop your Electronic Arts folder back to its folder make sure it goes in the RIGHT folder. I accidentally combined my no cc and cc folders once and ... NIGHTMARE!!
Anyway, some people are able to do this by renaming their individual The Sims 3 folders inside the Electronic Arts folders, but I just couldn't keep that straight!

You posted your CYS for Jan 2012 compilation is 85 simpoints. If you wait for Deal 801, the CYS reduction is estimated to be (85-9) 76 simpoints. Your CYS would be 9 and if the CYS is still rounded to 5 sp, the final amount could be 10 or 5 sp. You spend between 36 to 46 sp.
I think Deal # 663, Edwardian Expression Kitchen- Toasty Fine Flame Finish Stove, might be a better choice. Its daily deal price is 26 sp. The regular price is 90 sp. The Toasty Fine Flame Finish Stove is estimated to reduce your CYS by (90-9) 81 simpoints. Your CYS is 4 sp and due to rounding, January 2012 may then be free or 5 simpoints. You spend either 26 or 31 sp.

@EverclearBoy If you own only the India sets in April 2012, it's not enough for the compilation. The cheapest way to go then is:

The Enchanted Bundle of Dark Dealings currently shows a discount down to 265 Simpoints with the set completed to 78% So I assume when Deal #19 comes back around that would be the time to get it for free?
The April 2012 Compilation is listed at 585 Simpoints with 56% complete. Does that mean when Sizzle Fryer comes up at 849 it might be free?
I will try deal 663 then and see if that works well when it comes up next week, Thanks
