Hello.
It is good that you were able to find the cause of your issue and be able to fix the problem so that you could play the game again. Thanks for posting how you resolved the issue
It seems a lot of people have had this issue over time. I wanted to share my fix in case it helps others. I tried everything with the exception of uninstalling TS4 and resinstalling. I tried:
- Uninstalling and reinstalling Origin
- Uninstalling and manually wiping all traces of Origin and reinstalling
- Uninstalling and using CCleaner and Decrap to wipe all traces of Origin from my computer, then reinstalling
- Starting my PC in safe mode, resetting my computer to a save point
- Uninstalling CyberGhost (the only thing I had downloaded since I last played TS4)
- Repairing TS4 from within Origin
- Run Origin and TS4 as Administrator
- Run Origin and TS4 in Win8 compatibility
- Troubleshooting compatibility from the desktop
Rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat. Nothing worked.
The only thing that helped occurred to me by accident. I noticed when doing ctl+shift+esc that Origin was running in 32-bit, despite my computer being 64-bit (I double checked this). I was unable to change Origin into 64-bit, so I thought, "Why not try changing Sims to 32-bit?"
IT WORKED.
Here's how you do it:
From Origin, right click on TS4, and select, "Game Properties." From there, use the drop-down menu to select 32-bit.
It's only a guess, but I think the newest patch must have done something to fudge it all up, since aside from downloading CyberGhost, that's the only thing that has changed.
From what Google tells me, it isn't that bad to run a 32-bit program on a 64-bit machine. In fact, Chrome, OpenOffice, and a number of other programs are currently running on 32-bit on my computer.
And some people are running Sims 4 on laptops as well. Like for me instance. How to work it on laptops. Cause I have regular computer does not work. That's why I need to have Origin to work it on my laptop. This is WHY some most of us doesn't want Origin working on the Sims 4 completely.

Not working for us either. The problem is that EA shouldn't force the consumer to go through another program. If we were to install the hard drive and run the game without the use of an Origin account, it would be fine. So GG EA, I hope you're proud of yourselves.

"Hello Try uninstalling and reinstalling origin, then see if that helps"
I've seen this comment about 50 million times already. Why would you assume I haven't? I've done everything suggested on this page. I have a suggestion though...remove Origin.

There is no reason to attack someone for trying to help you.
EA is not going to get rid of origin just like steam has their own DRM

Hello @leeanng1 .
This link refers to your error message.
http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2015/08/origin-not-running-d3382ced984c6a3800000000/
Try first deleting the Orgin cache files
http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/delete-origin-cache-files/
Then if you are still having issues, try manually uninstalling origin. Then reinstall origin .
http://help.ea.com/en/article/manually-uninstalling-origin/
Try also right clicking on the origin icon on the desktop and click " run as adninstator".

Try turning off origin in game. https://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/deactivate-origin-in-game/
