Will the Weekly Specials ever change and will the ads ever come back in the future?

Or are those things just forgotten?
I haven't seen the ads in a long time. It's kind of dissapointing because I really liked using it to get some extra Simpoints and the Weekly Specials haven't been changed since 2016 which is weird.
I still regularly use the Sims 3 store and I think that a lot of other people do to, so I hope that they will fix it some time soon.
