I'm guilty. We took a four day 'vacation' if you want to call it that, to travel down to CA to attend the wedding of our niece. Left Thursday, arrived that same early evening. Did what we call a straight-shot. We took two-days to travel back, however. Seems the best way anymore. However, right before we left between my hubby and me we got all of the ornaments off of the tree on the main floor. This morning, he got it out of the house and the branches all shorn off of it (he uses the trunks by slicing them up into 1-inch thick slabs to mount pictures on). Problem is, there's a tree down in our basement that needs to be divested of its ornaments. I'm torn. I haven't played my game much, even before said trip, trying to finish the redraft of my latest novel. I did play Tuesday and Wednesday, since we got the new SP.
I was stuck culling and deleting the emails I didn't wish to read, and then taking care of the ones I did. I was totally off-line from Thursday until we arrived home on Sunday. I had 488 emails awaiting me. Emails that I was STILL working on come Monday. Suffice it to say, I never got a chance to play my game, or to even work on my novel.
Today, I have a plan.
This is something my grown daughter does. I shall allow myself to play my game for a bit, pause, and then go to the basement and removed ornaments from the tree for a bit. Then I'll come back upstairs (office is on the second floor of our home) play for a bit, and then wash, rinse, repeat, until the tree is naked again. That way hubby and/or son can haul that thing all the way up the stairs for a 'branch cutting party'. Needles, needles will be everywhere! Have to do it for a variety of reasons. A) tree is on the dry side, now. B ) Superbowl is on the 4th of Feb. and we host a party C) Christmas, even Russian Christmas celebrated on 7 January, is OVER. Had a great time, but it's simply time to move on.
What do you think? Do you do the same thing when you have other 'chores' or commitments that get in the way of your game play?

Back during the Gulf War, we had an artificial tree. Once war broke out, I kept it up until the war was over. But, because it was an artificial tree, there wasn't the worry of it catching on fire, like there is with a real tree that's gone dry. The one on the main floor was still a lush dark green, and wasn't losing many needles. The one in the basement — well, let's just say it's fading in color. Big time. I got several of the ornaments off of it, prior to playing my game. I'll have to either force myself downstairs to finish up, or attack it again in the morning after I get my grandson to school. That seems to be my peak time.
Thanks for responding to my post!
