Copying over your old Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 folder might work. Worst case scenario is that you'd have to reinstall all your CC and worlds, and possibly redownload (and install) everything from the Store.

You should have been able to copy over the DCCache and Installed Worlds folders, but it wouldn't hurt to clear Installed Worlds out and download/reinstall them again if it's being fussy. Better might have been to copy over the entire TS3 user game folder in one go. Can you still try that without losing anything?

But copying actual cache files (not the DCCache, I mean the others and the World Caches) from one game folder to another different already existing one is never a good idea and can in fact break everything about the game folder. Not sure if you really meant that though.

Try clearing your Internet Explorer cache and cookies being sure to deselect Preserve Favorites . It must be IE, not the other browsers although clearing those can help too. Even if you never use IE yourself and your computer makes it difficult to find (Win 10), it has to be in there someplace and the game borrows its resources to run and authenticate logins.

And then, if still no use, try changing your password?

It's possible then that there is something wrong on the EA side, with the server that processes in-game logins. But you might try contacting Customer Support using the HELP menu at the bottom of these forum pages in full sized browser windows to see if your account needs to be reset from their end.
