Buying Simpoints to use on Sims 3 site question

I see that really the only way to buy Simpoints is on Origin. I've never bought Simpoints or anything on Origin before. Once I buy the Simpoints will it just show up on my Sims 3 site account or does it give me a code to redeem on the site? If anyone can give me an idea of what the steps are/end result is after buying the Simpoints I'd appreciate it. I'd hate to do something wrong and be out the money. I'm wanting to buy a new world, but a huge newb at buying Simpoints. Thank you!

It should show up on your Sims account at Sims 3 store also you can buy Sims 4 card or Origin card at GameStop or best buy

Okay thanks! I don't have any Sims 4 games, so I'm not needing anything for that game. I just wanted to buy a Sims 3 world, either Midnight Hollow or Dragon Valley and I wasn't 100% sure if I bought the Simpoints on Origin if it would show up on my Sims 3 account.

Thanks! I'm specifically wanting to buy Simpoints off of Origin as I get 40 more Simpoints for the $20. Plus, I won't have to wait another 3 weeks to buy a game card since I'm no where close to anyplace that sells the EA game cards.

If the Simpoints will just automatically show up on my Sims 3 account at the Sims 3 site.

The last time I bought simpoints from Origin they showed up automatically on my account on the Sims 3 site. I have those two accounts linked. You don't get a code to redeem or anything. If the points don't show up right away I'd contact EA/Origin customer support.

Should be. I've purchased Store content, Simpoints, and games from the old SIms3 Store site and, more recently, Origin. Never had any problem with getting the points or DLC, nor any security issues with my credit card data.
