Wonderful lots so far everyone! So much creativity and holiday goodness !!
Just noticed the max budget is 160k not 90k as I had imagined for some reason yay! I can enter the build I have been working on a ton. I was concerned it was way over budget because of the holiday decor, but I'm glad you're so generous with the budget haha.
I wanted to ask, is there a number of br or ba required? And could the garden be indoors?
Lastly, does this count as a cottage? I hadn't intended it as a cottage when I first began it before I saw this competition, but I wonder if it yet counted as one? I'm going to move it to a bigger lot to fit the barn and tree farm. Thanks!

OMG @Nore - your roof reindeer and sled are to die for. How awesome!!! Pretty house too. Looks terrific all lit up. @caramellibra29 - Kwaanza with the Kringles! How cool is that! It should be a holiday t.v. special. Awesome couple! I want those plate recolors too!
It is great that you are going to enter your Christmas themed build into this challenge ! @Nore I have posted about your very creative build on the other threads, and I look forward to seeing your furnishing of the interior of the home!
Yeah when I check creations made during the problem, they now show with proper hashtags on the gallery page, BUT if I search for them using a hashtag I won't find them no. But still, at least the problem is fixed going forward!
Hello
Just a little information . The patch has now brought back using. “Debug” instead of “ unknown” when searching for Debug items. The use of unknown was meant to be console specific, but it ended up on the pc version too.
Thankyou @rosemow i thought i had typed cheat in wrong a few times, then searched for the aloe plant in the end which worked, Will hav 2 remember 2 use debug again!
Thankyou @rosemow i thought i had typed cheat in wrong a few times, then searched for the aloe plant in the end which worked, Will hav 2 remember 2 use debug again!
Thanks a lot for letting all of us know that "debug" is back, @rosemow ! I put a "note to self" in a Word Document, so, I remember to type "debug" again !
1. The stables are not usable, the 'stable doors' are just painted to look as such and there is no way for the 'animals' to get out as the ramps are really just roofs
2. The "Slat Wall Room Divider" is placed into the foundation and this is on purpose, it is meant to be part of the architecture of the stable building itself.
3. The wildflowers in the paddock do overlap, this is purposeful, to make them look wild and chaotic, not neatly ordered, this is the same on top of the rear porch, these and the daisies and ferns around the sign are the only plants that do overlap in the build, this was to make them look like they are growing through each other as plants tend to do naturally. 4. The interior roof is visible from the first story office, again, this is purposeful, to simulate that it really is a barn.
5. The lights around the Christmas Tree farm area and the front porch of the cottage are as good as I can get them, there may be some bulbs that may intersect the columns, I really tried to make this as few as possible.
6. The register at the Christmas Tree farm is not usable and is just for decoration.
7. The curtains in the kitchen do intersect the sink and cupboards, for the purpose of this build, I 'believe' that the curtains are short enough to end at the countertop.
8. The curtains in the dining room look to intersect each other, this is an optical illusion, they are actually perfectly fitted curtains
9. The two built-in wardrobes in the bedroom do intersect, but both are still usable.
10. The seized down Christmas tree on the dining room hutch - the base of the tree is not visible, this is because I didn't want the rug showing, so just the tree itself is showcased, this is the same on the window sill in both this room and the bedroom.
Thanks a lot for letting all of us know that "debug" is back, @rosemow ! I put a "note to self" in a Word Document, so, I remember to type "debug" again !
Christmas Tree Cottage is a very nice home for the Kringles! @FaithofKaela Each area of the build is very creatively designed! I have posted about the cottage on your showcase thread but just wanted to say again, that it is a very nice home! The stables and Christmas tree farm areas looks great! Very nice design of the exteriors of the buildings!
@rosemow and @Ainsleyf - Thank you so much for your awesome comments about my simversion of the Kringles. I modelled them after my grandparents and Kwanzaa w/ The Kringles does sound like a T.V special... I'm going to send ABC copy the poem & pics LOL
@Cbear13 hope your nose is ok and not like Rudolph's, I have respect for horses, well maybe a little fear
@CaramelLibra29 as usual your sims are great and I love the backstory
@FaithofKaela cute cottage, the xmas tree shop looks so real, but my fav is the barn! I really like those classic barn shapes
I finally started my cottage so I feel I will have enought time to finish it, I will take a break this holidays for the first time in years. Of course some of my free time will be simming time
Thanks, @emere and @rosemow for your very kind comments. @emere - you have no idea how many iterations of the Christmas Tree shop I built, before finally deciding on this one, so I'm very pleased that you like it Like Rose, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
I've been MIA for a few days, it has been so busy here. We had 1 of our grandsons leave to be stationed in Alaska for 3 years in the Army. We had another grandson and his wife give us our first great grand daughter. She is beautiful.
I spent this morning trying to catch up on everything I've missed. Everyone's entries are so wonderful I love all the Kringles and their homes. So creative and homey and quaint.
I also read about @Cbear13 nose, hope your feeling better.
Also thanks @rosemow about the Debug change. I've not even had a chance to do the update yet. We are celebrating our family Christmas this weekend because my one sons family could only fly in this weekend. His wife is a doctor, so they don't always get every holiday off. So I probably won't be able to get back on the forum till next week. With 15 people coming to my house for the weekend, don't think I'll have a minute to breath!!
Hello @kimartist Congratulations on the birth of your new little first great granddaughter! It is a very special time for you and all of your family
Sending a hug to you and your grandson’s parents with the leaving of him to be stationed in Alaska for three years with the Army
You will have a lovely time Christmastime with your family this weekend
