I'm making a new sims youtube channel

I am making a Youtube channel mainly for Sims 4 but I will make videos of sims 3. I was wondering for my first video do you think it would be better speaking or using annotations since my voice is really quiet and I don't speak on microphone much. Basically I have little confidence speaking out loud.

Totally up to you. My advice is, if you're going to make videos, see it as a journey, as opposed to worrying too much about how each video performs.

If you don't have confidence in speaking out loud, keep in mind that you could try recording yourself, then play it back and see how you feel about it. Editing can help you with spots where you run out of things to say or say a word wrong.

Annotations are probably going to be less interesting to the average viewer, but there's no reason you can't do it that way and written words can be entertaining too, it's just harder to grab peoples' attention with them in a video format.

One thing you could do is see this as a way to get more confident in speaking out loud. Practice and getting used to hearing what your voice sounds in recordings will go a long way.

I tried speaking but my voice was just terrible and I did like 10 tries but it wasn't changing and I would pause or miss words.

All I can say is, I encourage you to keep at it (if doing spoken videos is something you'd like to do). You could try looking into advice like this:

Or, a bit long, but a favorite of mine:

And as for pausing or missing words, there's a pretty straightforward, free audio editing program Audacity: http://www.audacityteam.org/

Can help you to edit out missteps.

Personally I would do speaking. I don't like to watch videos that use only annotations. My first few videos weren't great and are probably still not fantastic is most people's eyes, but I've definitely gotten more confidence the more I do it. What works best for me is when I just relax and be myself. Once I stopped doing what I thought people would like and did it my way, it was more fun and much easier to do the spoken part of the videos. Keep at it. You'll build confidence and it will become easier :)

I feel like everybody thinks their voice is bad at first, you just have to keep practicing and you'll get better!
I personally also rather watch videos with voice-overs in it.
