I've had craziness ensue in my life recently. I went on vacation for 6 days and took time off work. I had a lot to do to get ready before vacation just to leave work and then I had a report to write over my vacation. I also had a grad school paper and presentation to create, and then my school recently decided to change the professor in the class I'm currently in which has caused an uproar. We only have 2 weeks left and the administration has been making drastic changes with very little to no warning. This whole enchilada has made it nearly impossible to write my SimLit story that I planned this month, sadly. Unless, I really have the time to pound it out tomorrow. I might still write the story though and then try to participate next month after some of the chaos subsides.
I am rather new to the Simlit scene, well, new as in I just started back up from a 2 year hiatus. Something I've never before heard of was these short story challenges XD But they look so fun... as soon as I saw the prompt for November I had an instant idea! But, alas, I found it a little late.
I might be able to pound something out tonight, but if it is not submitted by the deadline I will probably just submit it as a fun read and participate for real next month!
@Dancer-freak Welcome! Don't feel pressured to get stuff submitted by tonight- after all, the new theme will be up tomorrow, which isn't that far away!
In the spirit of a holiday season that for many involves gifting (and re-gifting!), you must include this somewhere in your story for this month.
Special Rules: This month, you get the “gift” of using 500-2000 words and 1-15 screenshots.
@Pegasus143 Do you mean that our story needs to include literal gifts (like tied up in ribbon) or can it be just in some way related to the theme of "gifted"?
Well, I believe I have my pictures for what I intend to write this month. (I had three ideas, and it was very hard to choose just one)
I'm hopeful that what I plan to write still manages to fit the theme (as in, said gift is not a physical item wrapped up in a box). I don't even know if that can (or even should) be done.
This seems like such a fun idea and I would like to participate except my brain is empty It's early in the month so maybe I'll think of something eventually. Good luck to everyone and can't wait to read all the stories.
@rednenemon What you're describing sounds like it would fit perfectly- not everything fits in boxes, after all. @Kenadia Welcome! That's why we give you a whole month- something will get in there eventually. Of course, a month also slips away pretty easily.
