@lanlyn The only writing class I took in college, the teacher handed me back a story I'd written and said, "Write what you know." It was the only thing I remember out of his course, and it was taken longer ago than I care to remember. In this case, Kaydence knows time travel because she did it, aliens because she's met them and had contact with them, and wildly dysfunctional parents because she's got em. Lol

Today I finished all the Roaring Heights story updates on my blog. There are 30 of them right now. Man, am I feeling bleary eyed! Anyway, if anyone missed any of Elliot and Anabel's story and would like to read some updates, here's the table of contents:
Granny: "Zelda, as expected, little fireball, your lack of manners is tormenting poor doomed Beatrice. She looks like she's about to burst with the effort of not telling you that one does not speak so crassly to one's elders, and certainly not one's grandmother. Or that other witches have died quite comically for less, though I suppose she wouldn't say comically...probably horribly or grotesquely or something overly dramatic like that. You see, Beatrice was raised in a position of absolute privilege; she and her two sisters are the product of one of those unicorn rare witch marriages, it seems that most of the lot of you just marry any old thing... even though I wasted a whole hour of my precious time making a magically locked, traveling, self cleaning, enchanted marriage site, with special rules just so witches could actually marry instead of knowing that every one night stand one witch has with another could be their last. Oh, don't get me wrong, she hasn't had everything easy; she lost her parents the same year you did, but she was a teenager at that time and had two little sisters to take care of in a well warded house, so she became more obsessed with whether she was doing it right or not...though that wasn't the only reason. Her parents died because her father cheated on her mother with, of all things, a human. It was revealed by one of their rival witches, while they were dining out on their anniversary...and he took advantage of the turmoil to kill them both- the original plan was to get her mother angry enough to kill her father publicly, so he could safely kill her for killing another witch...but that didn't happen, her mother simply became hysterical, and as she was the more powerful of the two... he killed them both because he realized that once she got her bearings back and realized he'd tried to arrange it, she'd kill him, and the foool was more worried about that than being punished by me!... Just one of the many witch battles that year. I had been too nice, you see... and everyone seemed to think that I fell off the face of the world and they could do whatever they liked. Oh, if I punished things faster...do you have any idea how many human babies and children would have been turned into witches like you, Zelda?"
Zelda: "So I was born a human, then?" She couldn't help her curiosity, even while wondering if she was about to get the worst punishment she could think of...She'd never wanted to live so badly in her life as now that she had Rafael to go home to, but she needed to be able to tell him he was safe...and she'd left him there. He'd wake up with her missing. He'd wake up as a human, because Deedee would cure him before he even opened his eyes...so at least he wouldn't be trapped by the vampire even if she failed to kill her...on account of being a statue somewhere, who knows where... But she hoped the loved spell broke when she died, at least? She knew it didn't break when he died, but when she did, surely...who would have even made a spell so cruel that when the person who cast the spell died, it wouldn't break? But there were a lot of cruel witches... She wished she'd read those pages, but at the time she just wanted him. Still, she'd always wondered if she'd ever been human, because she wanted to know what it was like as a human, if they were really so different from witches or if it was just that they lacked magic. She'd never been a cat, but she could understand cats had different life experiences than witches...different senses, different life spans... but humans looked like witches but seemed oblivious to so many things around them... She'd used to think they were just stupidd, walking right into abjuration barriers like birds into window panes...wandering into enchanted fog filled woods when werewolves were about, fishing in necromantic waste and then being shocked they were pulling out things like death fish. Of course, she sort of knew that they didn't have magical sense, but that hadn't really made any sense until Rafael had no clue what was happening when they went into the wedding site. He should have been utterly terrified...but he had no idea what her problem was. And Rafael was not stupidd, he just couldn't sense magic. He made the difference obvious. But she sort of remembered not sensing magic when she was in France and at home before she was five and everything fell apart...but before witches got magic sense, they didn't sense magic, so she hadn't known whether she'd actually ever been a human or just always been a witch but without the senses until her aura became strong enough. So it had been a nagging question in the back of her mind for years.
Granny: "You were human right up until the moment the poor foool Selena who lived next door failed to make an elixir to reverse her age... Hers was the death that breached the universes' minimum limit of witches and caused the universe to take corrective measures. Of course, if perhaps Beatrice's father had managed to keep faithful to his wife or at the very least, confessed his affair to his wife in their very well warded house, instead of letting it be revealed by a merciless third party in a public venue...you might have had a happy little human life...and not spent so many years miserable in a cage, failing to learn how to behave like a civilized being. Beatrice doesn't really understand that you're essentially a feral child who's been given the power of speech by magic. After all, she's never been in a cage, she's never been a few days from starving, she has no idea what it's like."
Zelda: "Have you?" She rather wished she could shut up. Granny might take offense at any moment, but she supposed some part of her was desperately stalling, hoping there was a way out of becoming a statue.
Granny: Granny laughed delightedly. "Why, child, I've had more than a full life. I've had many many many full lives, some of them have involved cages and starvation and being eaten alive on three different occasions and the sorts of stories of revenge that you, impatient as you are, would listen to in rapt attention for three days if I wasted the time. You will not have such a full life, though longer than you believe right now. Deedee made her choice; so Beatrice will die tonight."
Zelda: To humans, anytime after midnight was morning...but to witches, if the vampires, werewolves, zombies were still out and about, it was not yet morning; sunlight was what defined the end of night. That was another weird thing humans did. She saw it on their tv shows when they tried to pretend they knew anything about magic...spells ending at midnight were ridiculous. Well, truth be told, she didn't know very many spells...she didn't usually have to...though she intended to learn more now.
Zelda: She couldn't figure out if Beatrice was feeling humiliated or sorry for her parent's part of Zelda's situation or was just miserably awaiting the horrors ahead of her, hoping that being eaten wasn't one of them. Zelda felt sorry for her, and had to remind herself that the whole thing tonight was Beatrice's plot against her. Beatrice had convinced her to use the spell on Rafael...the spell she couldn't fix...and Beatrice had this vampire turn him into a vampire...biting him three days ago...so he was already bitten by the time Beatrice had told her about the spell. It would have worked too, if Deedee hadn't been there, because they would have been upstairs together...probably feet from one another. Maybe eating, or playing video games...or if she'd managed to lure him back into bed...but then again, he was too uptight to let her do that right before he was going to work. That would have made it more fun if she'd managed it. Right up until he turned into an evil, bad smelling ice cube monster and drank her plasma...twice...against his will, while fighting it the whole time, but he wouldn't have been able to stop it on his own. It would have been so horrible. Though perhaps Granny wouldn't be about to stick her in a statue for all of time, so at least that part would have been better than this. She was not sure why Granny was telling her about Beatrice's family, was it to humiliate her further or help Zelda understand her right before she died? Were they both going to be put into the same statue, like the way Granny did the rosettes on the death statue for her wedding with all those witches she'd killed, including Dahlia? But of course, Granny seemed to be telling her that she wouldn't die tonight...that didn't mean she wouldn't somehow later end up in the same statue with Beatrice. Though she felt extremely grateful to Deedee for saving her. Even if it was for a single day, she'd still happily live another day if she could just go home to Rafael in the meantime.
Granny: "But to answer your question, no, that will not be your punishment. Not all the punishments are the same...if I don't show up and kill a witch and stick her or him into some form of statuary everyone assumes I'm not punishing witches anymore!"
Zelda: "You're not going to put me in a statue?" She tried not to be too hopeful, she knew Granny had a reputation for being rather cruel; it could just be that she'd be put into a bush or wood carving instead, which would be just as bad as far as she was concerned, it was not the vessel she was being bound to that mattered to her, it was not having her consciousness ripped out and trapped somewhere for the rest of time.
Granny: "Punishments are more tailored than you think. I'm going to keep you waiting for years, Little Fireball. I gave Deedee permission to kill you, but I only gave her permission, no one else. If she doesn't kill you, then you will have to do two favors for your Granny when I ask you to...if you don't do them within a twenty four hour period of the time I designate when I ask you, then I'll eat your whole family."
Zelda: On the one hand... 'or I'll eat your whole family' was utterly terrifying...but since she started out assuming her time was up and that she was about to have her consciousness ripped out and put into a statue pretty much right away, where she would be trapped forever... it sounded like a wonderful deal! While she was normally impatient, right now, with Rafael in the basement and having so much to live for she'd love a few years to live more before Granny inevitably brought the hammer down on her. "Aren't you just going to ask me for the impossible?" She probably shouldn't say that, but it had gone from a thought to her lips too fast. Why could she not shut up?
Granny: "No, Zelda, both favors will be quite within your power. The first will be tonight, the second will be the one you have to wait for...years from now."
Zelda: She swallowed...she'd hoped that she'd be waiting years for both favors, that way if she somehow failed, she'd at least have had some good years with Rafael first. As it was, she had two wonderful days that made the rest of her life behind her seem like misery in comparison...and then this horrible night. Some part of her felt like she'd only started really living two days ago, but she supposed that was what love felt like. She hadn't really realized it, until Deedee made her think about it, but surely love could explain it. She tried to tell herself that the fact that Granny was saying the next one would be years from now meant that she'd successfully complete this one...since Granny could tell the future...and there wouldn't be a second favor if she got them eaten by failing the first.
Work crew back in the house this AM, got the desktop to work but for how long, so will be brief...
@lanlyn The mermaid resort is gorgeous, did you build it? And Anabel's all demure, 'I know what's coming', lol. Never played mermaids in the game, guess that's one more thing on the list I have to do!

Once upon a time, Savannah had a baby girl named Sage.
She loved her, fed her, and cared for her.
Now, Savannah was planning Sage's wedding.
This day was actually a fairly long time coming. It had been pushed back by the disappearance of Sage's older brother, Andrew, Jr. (AJ) and sister-in-law, Alexandra.
She had spent most of the afternoon on the phone with the caterer and the dressmaker. Her first-born daughter would have nothing less. Sage was a Jolina-Plumb. She would have a Jolina-Plumb wedding.
Savannah was never really much for fashion, but what she was, as her mother had been, an artisan. She decided to make herself an ancient artifact necklace to wear to the wedding, to show off her bonafides as an ex-adventurer.
In the meantime, with her children mostly grown, she was keeping herself busy in other ways, too. Not only did she have that massive order of 10 paintings to fill for the business building, but she suddenly got the idea for a new novel. A science fiction novel.
Now, Savannah had written in other genres, most notably paranormal and fantasy, but she'd never really done much with science fiction. She'd left that to her daughter and her niece. And of course, the queen of science fiction herself, her Aunt Margaret, whose six-book "Lunar Colony" series remained a classic in Sim literature circles.
If Savannah was going to do a science fiction novel, though, what could she write about that hadn't already been done? Her niece, Kaydence, had created an elaborate technological utopia for her world, full of all sorts of whimsical objects and beings.
To be frank, Kaydence herself was a bit of a whimsical sort, Savannah thought. She remembered one day, out of the blue, Kaydence had decided to take her along for one of her rides. Kaydence had come from the land of dreams (Starlight Shores) and harbored a big one, herself.
But Savannah digressed. She had serious issues to discuss with Sage - wherever Sage was now. What to do about the wedding?
*Right now I'm trying to gather all the sims for the wedding since they're on separate lots.

Eli and Ami Jankowsky were up and getting ready for the day when they both failed to notice that the goopy carbonara they ate for breakfast had begun to go bad.
They both decided to play online social games on their iPads before tending to the chores.
The morning went by so quickly that it was early afternoon and time to get ready for work before they knew it.They were off to work by 3PM.
They got home at 7PM and started on building a new room on their house.
It was 8PM when they got into bed and went to sleep for the night.

Tonight I actually went into a game and played for a short while. I hadn't been in Appaloosa Plains in a long time, so decided to check things out there. This is a new update, not posted before. It gives some background on the family, then tells how I dealt with a couple of Imaginary Friends.

@lanlyn Interesting background on the family! That gives me an idea what to do with Sawyer (Andy and Savannah's youngest son)'s two IF dolls! Can't get rid of them so make them into something else! Appaloosa Plains is a nice world, it's where I'm expanding Sage's ranch. And where she'll likely live after the wedding. I'm between there and Hidden Springs. I'm trying to make sure her whole family is at the wedding and there are a lot of family! And a few friends too. Sage would likely not want a big wedding but of course Savannah would go all out.
For the first time in her life, Kaydence realized she couldn't do it alone.
The crisis she was now facing was much bigger than even she realized. And she couldn't handle it alone, no matter how much of a 'supergirl' she thought herself to be.
Sure, Sierra had her back, but Sierra was almost a decade older than she. And certainly prime with her own life as a professional athlete.
She had to call on someone much closer to her age bracket, someone who had been there through thick and thin, someone who'd been friends with her own cousin - before that friendship ended when he began dating her instead.
Never before had she been so glad to see Terry's face. Breathlessly, Kaydence explained the situation to him. "What are we going to do?" he asked plaintively, his video stream showing signs of static.
"I don't know," Kaydence replied. "I don't know."
Meanwhile, Sage asked her younger sister, Skylar, an aspiring vocal legend, to sing at her wedding.
This is a possible location for Sage's wedding, it's a venue I downloaded awhile ago called "Classy Outdoor Wedding Venue" on the exchange. Never actually used it. I think I have Live, Laugh, Love as well somewhere, lol.

Well, I'm glad they are finally at an age where Madison can settle down a little and value her daughter for who she is, and not just feel offended by her differences from the child she expected. Even if she hasn't read her book, she's actually did experience some of her daughter's inspiration for it...and she's also seen her daughter act...and she was there when she won her award so there is that. (Sebastian wasn't!)
She is indeed! No, Deedee would never kill Zelda on purpose, and was quite angry when Granny 'gave her permission'. Wow, you guys really want Anastasia in this universe, huh? Remember, the holiday specials are happening in a different universe (actually several different universes) than the regular story (which is why they often contradict each other, like how Rafael was a vampire with 0 kids for Thanksgiving and a human with two for the xmas one...though the Aprils fools day special and the Thanksgiving special were connected and the two xmas specials were in the same universe...or close enough to the same to fool us all ) Yay! I've been waiting for Sage's wedding! Well, I'm sure it'll be a bit larger and more of a to-do than if Sage alone was designing it, but I do want to see what Savannah and everyone does! It's great seeing Savannah make preparations...and she looks so zen at that glass blowing lol. I know it takes work, but I'm sure it'll be lovely, and Sage has been so patient with everyone else in her family, I'm sure they'll want to be there for her. (Hopefully they all can be now that her brother and sister in law have been rescued! I hope that Sierra doesn't miss out because of the alien situation! ) (Sierra: "Please excuse the space suit... I was just saving simanity from alien invasion and ran a little late...but to be fair, suits are traditional at weddings, and this is...technically...a suit.")
Ah, Kadyence has finally gotten time to talk to Terry! I hope they can meet up again soon. (So she can remember to check her to do list and find the whole kissing thing lol...you know, priorities. ) But even with static in the connection, I'm sure she feels better to have someone to talk to about it that knows what she's talking about! Aw, how sweet, Skyler would be a great choice for singing at the wedding...if she can do that for her big sister. Wow, looks big enough, and I'm sure the couple will enjoy having it outdoors, that looks tropical so you probably won't have to worry about it being an outerwear wedding lol.

Wow, that's a twist, naming an irresistible mermaid after Poe's poem. That's a great idea with the dive wells. The mermaid resort is beautiful but it sounds like it was a bit of a pain just because it was so original that the spawners were trolling you. Lol @ evil Fairy burglar! Also wow, at the cat guest who took a water taxi and came to stay... I wouldn't have been able to let that pass without making it a talking cat or something because wow, how did the taxi driver ever know. (Taxi driver: "Oh, I speak cat. Don't you? One mew if by land, two if by sea...and then you just have to figure out areas cats hang out. The mermaid hotel is totally on the cat hot spot guide, and if it wasn't before, it is now that it just got the best cat reviews around all of the backyard choruses to yowl in the night about it's praises...Free advertising...") Lol @ Bonehilda! What an exciting honeymoon! Wow, that was an amazing story behind Merit's delivery. It's almost like she tapped into her inner-salmon and decided to swim the river until she was like 'wait a minute! I can just drive!' Just in the nick of time! Lol @ Eliot's confusion. (Eliot: "Blowing the door open and beating on criminals, no problem. Fighting police corruption, smooth sailing, got it down. A baby? What do you think it's a just a bomb? I don't know what to do!!") Nope, she's the most powerful witch...by a long shot...which is why Beatrice was incredulous when Granny told her that Rafael usually is the one that kills her in most universes. She doesn't think any of the witches could, and then Granny says that a human could? Witches usually don't count humans as dangerous in my world. (In the same way most of us don't think of dogs or horses as more dangerous than sharks, but actually humans aren't more dangerous to witches than other witches...usually.) That's a cool way to be rid of the IF's!
@Jillbg: So, the baby hasn't made him any more responsible then... though I suppose he figures she brought the baby in and he can't stop that so maybe if he does absolutely nothing to help 'she made this mess herself!' she'll somehow send the baby back or something...? Or maybe he'd have done this anyway, it's hard to tell. Lol @ 'the thought cross my mind." Oh, Missy! Yep, the house is trashed- it sounds like Missy has her hands full! Hmm, I wonder what Taiga will buy to welcome Athan to the family. Lol- well, hopefullly she doesn't think hanging curtains is a euphemism. The irony being that she really is sneaking out to hang out with those boys Granny's so worried about...just when Granny thinks she's over at Lynns. Considering Granny's history, I can understand her being sure to give Taiga room to mourn. Lol yes, young, energetic and taking a proactive approach. Wow, he's totally on top of it.
Athan definitely sounds like a handful. Lol @ Taiga recognizing her as Madison Avenue's daughter rather than her own things...it does make sense that a singer would be more concerned about the singer. Well, yes, naturally if you've already lost someone to a plane crash...and as far as she knows, she lost Derek to a plane crash...you might be extra worried about any future plane trips for loved ones. Well, Sprinkler might have irritated her but he did get her to change her tune about how dangerous planes are...by agreeing with her fears lol. lol @ Minute Maid. Oh, dear, Sprinkler, such a treasure trove of stories... How ironic it is: "Granny is definitely getting old, more normal and less magical for each day..." then, bam, magical wardrobe! *Wince* Oh, oh, ouch, lost Derek's shirt! Yeah, she's done so much magic that Granny doesn't know about yet...even while having done the cowplant thing that she does know about! Part of Taiga must know that Derek is still alive... she might think she's in denial thinking about curing him when he's as far as she knows...dead. Still, it will be a good thing to know for the future. Granny may insist there are no such things as werewolves, but Taiga knows there are because of Derek. Lol @ "That way I won't feel so bad about toadifying people." It's interesting to see the differences between Missy and Granny's teaching styles and lessons for Taiga lol. Granny's the better teacher, but it seems as though Taiga's magic is more Missy's forte lol. Lol @ "At least I won't have to scrub it clean!" Yep, who would want to be a witch if they had to do those dishes all the time!
Uh oh, what happens if Taiga is a hybrid? What if her sister, the fairy is a hybrid? Is it her dark magic coming out and causing her to make poisoned apples...or is it just that Missy was the first one to show her...with pink apples? Then again...she keeps picturing other colors and getting pink anyway, huh? Oh boy! Well, not to worry, even if you can't just have a bunch of apples you can eat, you can still convert them! Oh, no, Sprinkles! Well, she's definitely gotten fire down! Good thing she can now put it out! And hopefully she won't ever turn anyone into a puddle like Missy did that one time... Yeah, that demon cat sure is "worried". Lol- he finally learned to knock! Ah, perhaps he reflected on her accidently almost killing him and trying so desperately to save him...even though she's young...and feels more talkative now. (Or maybe it was the 'medicine' lol) I'm glad he's telling Taiga, after all, she's interested in history, probably nice to hear it from someone who was there...
You are close. Not quite right, but not entirely wrong... she's going to mislead Zelda with the first favor. One of the fun things about the legends of Baba Yaga that I used as inspiration to make my story version is that she can seem to be semi good and helpful to the heroes or really really evil and trying to eat innocent children, depending on which story you are reading...
That Sandy Shoals Sea Shanty (Store Featured Look) is a great house, but it doesn't have a lot of room. I spent a long time adding space to it today. Merit needed a better place to play. But of course, when I tore the top floor up, the roof became a BIG issue! Several hours later ...

Oh uh it was also time to pay the bills..
Nothing to exciting this time just a normal sim day hehe.
Granny: "Zelda, as expected, little fireball, your lack of manners is tormenting poor doomed Beatrice. She looks like she's about to burst with the effort of not telling you that one does not speak so crassly to one's elders, and certainly not one's grandmother. Or that other witches have died quite comically for less, though I suppose she wouldn't say comically...probably horribly or grotesquely or something overly dramatic like that. You see, Beatrice was raised in a position of absolute privilege; she and her two sisters are the product of one of those unicorn rare witch marriages, it seems that most of the lot of you just marry any old thing... even though I wasted a whole hour of my precious time making a magically locked, traveling, self cleaning, enchanted marriage site, with special rules just so witches could actually marry instead of knowing that every one night stand one witch has with another could be their last. Oh, don't get me wrong, she hasn't had everything easy; she lost her parents the same year you did, but she was a teenager at that time and had two little sisters to take care of in a well warded house, so she became more obsessed with whether she was doing it right or not...though that wasn't the only reason. Her parents died because her father cheated on her mother with, of all things, a human. It was revealed by one of their rival witches, while they were dining out on their anniversary...and he took advantage of the turmoil to kill them both- the original plan was to get her mother angry enough to kill her father publicly, so he could safely kill her for killing another witch...but that didn't happen, her mother simply became hysterical, and as she was the more powerful of the two... he killed them both because he realized that once she got her bearings back and realized he'd tried to arrange it, she'd kill him, and the foool was more worried about that than being punished by me!... Just one of the many witch battles that year. I had been too nice, you see... and everyone seemed to think that I fell off the face of the world and they could do whatever they liked. Oh, if I punished things faster...do you have any idea how many human babies and children would have been turned into witches like you, Zelda?"
Zelda: "So I was born a human, then?" She couldn't help her curiosity, even while wondering if she was about to get the worst punishment she could think of...She'd never wanted to live so badly in her life as now that she had Rafael to go home to, but she needed to be able to tell him he was safe...and she'd left him there. He'd wake up with her missing. He'd wake up as a human, because Deedee would cure him before he even opened his eyes...so at least he wouldn't be trapped by the vampire even if she failed to kill her...on account of being a statue somewhere, who knows where... But she hoped the loved spell broke when she died, at least? She knew it didn't break when he died, but when she did, surely...who would have even made a spell so cruel that when the person who cast the spell died, it wouldn't break? But there were a lot of cruel witches... She wished she'd read those pages, but at the time she just wanted him. Still, she'd always wondered if she'd ever been human, because she wanted to know what it was like as a human, if they were really so different from witches or if it was just that they lacked magic. She'd never been a cat, but she could understand cats had different life experiences than witches...different senses, different life spans... but humans looked like witches but seemed oblivious to so many things around them... She'd used to think they were just stupidd, walking right into abjuration barriers like birds into window panes...wandering into enchanted fog filled woods when werewolves were about, fishing in necromantic waste and then being shocked they were pulling out things like death fish. Of course, she sort of knew that they didn't have magical sense, but that hadn't really made any sense until Rafael had no clue what was happening when they went into the wedding site. He should have been utterly terrified...but he had no idea what her problem was. And Rafael was not stupidd, he just couldn't sense magic. He made the difference obvious. But she sort of remembered not sensing magic when she was in France and at home before she was five and everything fell apart...but before witches got magic sense, they didn't sense magic, so she hadn't known whether she'd actually ever been a human or just always been a witch but without the senses until her aura became strong enough. So it had been a nagging question in the back of her mind for years.
Granny: "You were human right up until the moment the poor foool Selena who lived next door failed to make an elixir to reverse her age... Hers was the death that breached the universes' minimum limit of witches and caused the universe to take corrective measures. Of course, if perhaps Beatrice's father had managed to keep faithful to his wife or at the very least, confessed his affair to his wife in their very well warded house, instead of letting it be revealed by a merciless third party in a public venue...you might have had a happy little human life...and not spent so many years miserable in a cage, failing to learn how to behave like a civilized being. Beatrice doesn't really understand that you're essentially a feral child who's been given the power of speech by magic. After all, she's never been in a cage, she's never been a few days from starving, she has no idea what it's like."
Zelda: "Have you?" She rather wished she could shut up. Granny might take offense at any moment, but she supposed some part of her was desperately stalling, hoping there was a way out of becoming a statue.
Granny: Granny laughed delightedly. "Why, child, I've had more than a full life. I've had many many many full lives, some of them have involved cages and starvation and being eaten alive on three different occasions and the sorts of stories of revenge that you, impatient as you are, would listen to in rapt attention for three days if I wasted the time. You will not have such a full life, though longer than you believe right now. Deedee made her choice; so Beatrice will die tonight."
Zelda: To humans, anytime after midnight was morning...but to witches, if the vampires, werewolves, zombies were still out and about, it was not yet morning; sunlight was what defined the end of night. That was another weird thing humans did. She saw it on their tv shows when they tried to pretend they knew anything about magic...spells ending at midnight were ridiculous. Well, truth be told, she didn't know very many spells...she didn't usually have to...though she intended to learn more now.
Zelda: She couldn't figure out if Beatrice was feeling humiliated or sorry for her parent's part of Zelda's situation or was just miserably awaiting the horrors ahead of her, hoping that being eaten wasn't one of them. Zelda felt sorry for her, and had to remind herself that the whole thing tonight was Beatrice's plot against her. Beatrice had convinced her to use the spell on Rafael...the spell she couldn't fix...and Beatrice had this vampire turn him into a vampire...biting him three days ago...so he was already bitten by the time Beatrice had told her about the spell. It would have worked too, if Deedee hadn't been there, because they would have been upstairs together...probably feet from one another. Maybe eating, or playing video games...or if she'd managed to lure him back into bed...but then again, he was too uptight to let her do that right before he was going to work. That would have made it more fun if she'd managed it. Right up until he turned into an evil, bad smelling ice cube monster and drank her plasma...twice...against his will, while fighting it the whole time, but he wouldn't have been able to stop it on his own. It would have been so horrible. Though perhaps Granny wouldn't be about to stick her in a statue for all of time, so at least that part would have been better than this. She was not sure why Granny was telling her about Beatrice's family, was it to humiliate her further or help Zelda understand her right before she died? Were they both going to be put into the same statue, like the way Granny did the rosettes on the death statue for her wedding with all those witches she'd killed, including Dahlia? But of course, Granny seemed to be telling her that she wouldn't die tonight...that didn't mean she wouldn't somehow later end up in the same statue with Beatrice. Though she felt extremely grateful to Deedee for saving her. Even if it was for a single day, she'd still happily live another day if she could just go home to Rafael in the meantime.
Granny: "But to answer your question, no, that will not be your punishment. Not all the punishments are the same...if I don't show up and kill a witch and stick her or him into some form of statuary everyone assumes I'm not punishing witches anymore!"
Zelda: "You're not going to put me in a statue?" She tried not to be too hopeful, she knew Granny had a reputation for being rather cruel; it could just be that she'd be put into a bush or wood carving instead, which would be just as bad as far as she was concerned, it was not the vessel she was being bound to that mattered to her, it was not having her consciousness ripped out and trapped somewhere for the rest of time.
Granny: "Punishments are more tailored than you think. I'm going to keep you waiting for years, Little Fireball. I gave Deedee permission to kill you, but I only gave her permission, no one else. If she doesn't kill you, then you will have to do two favors for your Granny when I ask you to...if you don't do them within a twenty four hour period of the time I designate when I ask you, then I'll eat your whole family."
Zelda: On the one hand... 'or I'll eat your whole family' was utterly terrifying...but since she started out assuming her time was up and that she was about to have her consciousness ripped out and put into a statue pretty much right away, where she would be trapped forever... it sounded like a wonderful deal! While she was normally impatient, right now, with Rafael in the basement and having so much to live for she'd love a few years to live more before Granny inevitably brought the hammer down on her. "Aren't you just going to ask me for the impossible?" She probably shouldn't say that, but it had gone from a thought to her lips too fast. Why could she not shut up?
Granny: "No, Zelda, both favors will be quite within your power. The first will be tonight, the second will be the one you have to wait for...years from now."
Zelda: She swallowed...she'd hoped that she'd be waiting years for both favors, that way if she somehow failed, she'd at least have had some good years with Rafael first. As it was, she had two wonderful days that made the rest of her life behind her seem like misery in comparison...and then this horrible night. Some part of her felt like she'd only started really living two days ago, but she supposed that was what love felt like. She hadn't really realized it, until Deedee made her think about it, but surely love could explain it. She tried to tell herself that the fact that Granny was saying the next one would be years from now meant that she'd successfully complete this one...since Granny could tell the future...and there wouldn't be a second favor if she got them eaten by failing the first.
@lanlyn The mermaid resort is gorgeous, did you build it? And Anabel's all demure, 'I know what's coming', lol. Never played mermaids in the game, guess that's one more thing on the list I have to do!

Once upon a time, Savannah had a baby girl named Sage.
She loved her, fed her, and cared for her.
Now, Savannah was planning Sage's wedding.
This day was actually a fairly long time coming. It had been pushed back by the disappearance of Sage's older brother, Andrew, Jr. (AJ) and sister-in-law, Alexandra.
She had spent most of the afternoon on the phone with the caterer and the dressmaker. Her first-born daughter would have nothing less. Sage was a Jolina-Plumb. She would have a Jolina-Plumb wedding.
Savannah was never really much for fashion, but what she was, as her mother had been, an artisan. She decided to make herself an ancient artifact necklace to wear to the wedding, to show off her bonafides as an ex-adventurer.
In the meantime, with her children mostly grown, she was keeping herself busy in other ways, too. Not only did she have that massive order of 10 paintings to fill for the business building, but she suddenly got the idea for a new novel. A science fiction novel.
Now, Savannah had written in other genres, most notably paranormal and fantasy, but she'd never really done much with science fiction. She'd left that to her daughter and her niece. And of course, the queen of science fiction herself, her Aunt Margaret, whose six-book "Lunar Colony" series remained a classic in Sim literature circles.
If Savannah was going to do a science fiction novel, though, what could she write about that hadn't already been done? Her niece, Kaydence, had created an elaborate technological utopia for her world, full of all sorts of whimsical objects and beings.
To be frank, Kaydence herself was a bit of a whimsical sort, Savannah thought. She remembered one day, out of the blue, Kaydence had decided to take her along for one of her rides. Kaydence had come from the land of dreams (Starlight Shores) and harbored a big one, herself.
But Savannah digressed. She had serious issues to discuss with Sage - wherever Sage was now. What to do about the wedding?
*Right now I'm trying to gather all the sims for the wedding since they're on separate lots.

Eli and Ami Jankowsky were up and getting ready for the day when they both failed to notice that the goopy carbonara they ate for breakfast had begun to go bad.
They both decided to play online social games on their iPads before tending to the chores.
The morning went by so quickly that it was early afternoon and time to get ready for work before they knew it.They were off to work by 3PM.
They got home at 7PM and started on building a new room on their house.
It was 8PM when they got into bed and went to sleep for the night.
@Zabeth0 I'm afraid of those favors Granny is going to ask! Is there anyone else in the witches realm that is as strong as Granny?
@venusdemilosims I didn't build the original mermaid home, but I revamped and enlarged it quite a bit to create the resort. ...Those are pretty garden pictures with Savanah and Sage. ...It sounds like you're going to hold a huge wedding. Should be fun to see!

For the first time in her life, Kaydence realized she couldn't do it alone.
The crisis she was now facing was much bigger than even she realized. And she couldn't handle it alone, no matter how much of a 'supergirl' she thought herself to be.
Sure, Sierra had her back, but Sierra was almost a decade older than she. And certainly prime with her own life as a professional athlete.
She had to call on someone much closer to her age bracket, someone who had been there through thick and thin, someone who'd been friends with her own cousin - before that friendship ended when he began dating her instead.
Never before had she been so glad to see Terry's face. Breathlessly, Kaydence explained the situation to him. "What are we going to do?" he asked plaintively, his video stream showing signs of static.
"I don't know," Kaydence replied. "I don't know."
Meanwhile, Sage asked her younger sister, Skylar, an aspiring vocal legend, to sing at her wedding.
This is a possible location for Sage's wedding, it's a venue I downloaded awhile ago called "Classy Outdoor Wedding Venue" on the exchange. Never actually used it. I think I have Live, Laugh, Love as well somewhere, lol.
