Thank You Chealsycat. I always wondered how they did those. You are amazing sweetie.
Thank you, Rosie and Bree!
I'm glad it is helpful
I could also make videos on how to make waterfalls and swimming lakes, but I'm not sure whether anyone needs them - there are a lot of houses with waterfalls and swimming lakes in the Gallery
Thank you so much for starting this thread and putting all the tutorials in one place. I've been away from the sims since July last year and have noticed a lot of the UI has changed and stuff has been added and I've also forgotten loads of tips and tricks I used building previous builds. Now I'm playing again I have to build my sims a house to live in and the tutorials will let me know what is and isn't possible.

Hello @jeepjeepcat You're welcome! I am glad that you are finding the links helpful.
Welcome back to Simming!
Hi Rose and all others here, I have a question regarding sims 4 building. How on earth do you paint he ceilings in this game? I have searched the net high and low and tried everything I found, but nothing works and it's driving me crazy. Someone even said there are special ceiling tiles to be found in the flooring and this is not true at all. I searched every single tile, carpet, wood etc.... and there are no specific ceiling tiles to be found. I tried the half wall thing, tried corners, center and every angle possible to paint the ceiling with flooring, nothing works! Please if someone can help me I'd very much appreciate it.
Thanks and hugz
I own every basegame, EP, GP, SP and kits for all sims, ie.., sims 1, 2, 3 and 4
I am a sims 3 Store Owner Thanks to all my Amazing friends here, and I do own all store stuff from sims 2 as well!

Hello @TnT_Terry We are unable to paint the ceilings in Sims 4. It would be great if we were able to, but we can't do that.

Happy simmng to you!
hmmm maybe there was an ability and now it's gone, because all the info I did find was about sims 4 but there were apparently lots of issues. So mabe Maxis disabled it Thanks for answering me hon, much appreciated. So I guess I'll go take pics and upload the lot.

After the last patch all paintings done on the basis of photo are CC but Athanasia from Germany have discovered how to get around it. She shared this knowledge with me and now I will describe it here.
-start a new game
-take a sim , put him on a property , skill paintings - 10 and Photographie - 5, build a room (2x2) for your done paintings and buy all things you need to paint. Put the wall for CC paintings what you will copy on another property of course.
-now save the game (save as)
-quit game and go delete cache folder
-load your saved game, put a picture on the wall and paint, the first painting is no cc. You can give it a title and put it in the room you've built. Save the room in your library
Important -never save the game again If you will do it - you will have to start new game;
You should be back every time in this same safe.
Once more delete the cache folder and after this start your saved game.
You have to do this for every painting.
Hope you will understand my poor English
P.S I forgot to add that CC image you have to put on the wall only after returning to the first safe . Your first "base sejf" should be without CC in real game. You can have it in mods of course but not in game.
Hello @kreatora Thankyou for sharing the helpful workaround. It will involve a little bit of work to do it but it will be great to do so as to prevent the pictures from being classed as cc.
I have discovered one more thing. Photo made by painter enrolls now to the folder "Screens" .This photo also must be removed as well as cache folder. After this everything works perfectly for me.
I worked out how to build 'bridges' by myself. It involves working with decks and the full glass windows.
I used to have the most lovely 'wild' garden, but then I lost the save. It's been so long since I built a garden, and it's less about technicalities and more about having a lovely image in your head and finding the plants that will make it. I have the image; it's more finding the right plants, this time around.
Prepping a list of mods to add after Infants are placed into the game. Because real life isn't 'nice'.

Hello @Loanet It is enjoyable creating bridges for our builds. They add a great look to the homes!
It is very nice creating the gardens in our build. We can enjoy using our creativity by placing the plants and flowers in a variety of ways, to reflect a real life garden.
Hello @crysk Thankyou very much for creating the very helpful tutorial video and posting it here! It will be very helpful for simmers to use the methods in their builds! Thankyou very much!
I have added it to the first page of this thread.
Great tutorial, @crysk ! One thing I have not been able to figure out is how do you raise up the plant to the ceiling level? Are you using the mouse only or are you hitting a key on the keyboard?
@StSciurus you mean the raising of the plant in general? I just use ctrl+9 (dunno if thats the same on all keyboards/gameversions, I know that my key combination for increasing the size of an object is different though). while raising the object I look at the walls for orientation and sometimes I just place it and switch to the area above to check if it has the height I want. I hope this helps?
And I have one more tutorial, this time about octagonal roofs
The octogonal roofing video tutorial is vey helpful ! @crysk Thankyou for your kindness in creating the video. I have posted the video on the front page of this thread.

Yes, that's exactly what I wanted to know! I will give it a try in game. Thank you, @crysk !
