Windows Update destroyed my computer! Need Help!

So Windows forced an update on me, and it caused me to no longer have an operating system. Well I got Windows back on my computer, redownloaded my graphic drivers, and The Sims 4 (only took 3 days.) Well I got some stuff from my hard drive, but somethings have been corrupted. Ok here is where I need help, should I try to save my Sims 4 folder from my hard drive and hope nothing is corrupted. Or should I just scrap it and start all over. I have a save that I have been working on for over a year now, another save that I have been working on for two weeks just rebuilding everything and adding my own sims too. I have just a couple of sims that were my favorites and my builds that have taken me months to build. I just at a total loss and afraid of breaking everything again. So if anyone can help me, I would be very grateful. My brain hurts right now.

I am sorry that you had these issues occur It wasn’t very nice at all for you!
You could try to save the sims 4 folder from your hard drive and test to see if the files are okay. If they are broken, you will need to start afresh but it would be good to see if you may still be able to use the save games from your saves folder and have the files from your tray folder so that your creations are in your library.

Thank you rosemow I think I am going to try and save it. I just tried my mods folder and nothing was corrupted that I can tell so far. Which is awesome since I have over 7,000 mods (I think I have an addiction) lol. So now to try some more folders.

It is great that the mods files from your mods folder are okay I hope that the other folders are not corrupted either.

The same thing happened to a friend of mine.

I had the same problem last month when Microsoft forced the security update on all win 10 systems. What I ended up doing was contacting Microsoft themselves and having them help me get my system operational again because the security update also uninstalled my WiFi driver as well. Now it seems there is a bios update going on too.

Whatever update it was it sucked. When we first called Microsoft they said it is a known issue and you will have to wait until they fix the issue then a new update will be issued. I was like that won’t help me I can’t get internet on my computer now. Then he said well take it to a Microsoft store which is 4 hours away. Yeah no. We ended up downloading windows 10 from my sons laptop onto a flash drive and then putting that on my computer. Luckily my hard drive still had my original sims 4 folder and none of it was corrupted. So I have that issue fixed now I just have figure out what else my computer is missing, because it still isn’t the same. Oh and I turned Windows updates off completely. The update tried to go through again as soon as I fixed it.

It is good that your sims 4 folder wasn’t corrupted. I hope that the rest of your work in restoring your computer back to how it was progresses as well as possible.
