Spirit Animal Legacy 2.0 (Generations and Goals)

For those like me who can’t stay focused long enough to finish a full legacy xD

Version 2 of my original Spirit Animal Legacy. Added with storyline and specific goals for a few generations, along with rule clarification. There are only 5 generations laid out, feel free to go freestyle afterwords and let me know how your legacy continues!

****Highly recommend using the MC Command Center mod for this legacy challenge. You will most likely want to increase your maximum household count. Also recommend the Playable Pets mod and several Work from Home mods****

One Founder - male or female Young Adult
One Spirit Animal Founder - Recommend dog so you can max out training options, but you can do cats if you wish.
Your founder can have any aspiration and traits.
*The only required trait is “Dog Person” or “cat Person” in respect to your sim’s spirit founder.
Your Spirit Founder must have traits that reflect your sim founder.
ex) if your sim has any mean or evil traits, your spirit animal must be aggressive. If your sim is outgoing and family oriented, your spirit animal must be friendly and loyal. Etc.
Your household may ONLY start with your founder and their spirit animal.
Lifespan set to whatever you prefer
Spirit animals can only be given life-prolonging treats after generation 2.
Personalities may be changed of spirit animals to match their human sim. Physical changes can be made to match the human sim or to follow a theme. Use the Cas.FullEditMode cheat to activate this option in Create A Sim.
Babies may be aged up immediately
Toddlers may be aged up after being potty trained and learning to talk
Children may be aged up once they have an A in school
Teens may be aged up once the have an A in school
Spirit animals must be aged up from puppy/kitten naturally within the lifespan in the game. Again, anti-aging treats may only be given after gen 2.
(Dogs only) Each active sim must max their training skill and fully train their dog with all tricks available
Spirit animals may only have one mate
No money cheats or cheats that make the game easier. Building cheats are fine.
You may choose whether to keep elders on the lot or to relocate to a “nursing home” nearby for your older, non-active family members.

Spirit Animal Variations:
Breed Heirs - Your sim and their spouse’s spirit animals must breed to produce the spirit animal for the sim heir. Spirit animals must remain the same species throughout the generations.
Adopt only - Your sim founder adopts a spayed/neutered animal from the pound as its spirit animal. Every Heir and spouse also Adopts their Spirit Animal. Personalities and Names may be changed. No Physical changes. (skip gen 3)
Adopt Alternate Species - Spirit animal species changes per generation. I.E. Your founder and spouse both have Dog spirit animals, their heir would adopt a cat. The heir’s heir would adopt a dog. ECT.
Random - roll a dice to see if the generation will breed or adopt, and if it is a dog or cat!

Heirs
Your founder/heirs should only have one or two children. It is favorable to have a limited number of sims because you will need one spirit animal for each sim in the household (except for non-heir siblings). If you have the MCCC, you can increase your household number and have as many children as you wish. Only the heir can receive a spirit animal.
The Heir is not to receive their spirit animal until they are “of age” (teen).
2 or 3 days before your heir is to age up into a teen, encourage the two spirit animals to have a litter. The Heir’s spirit animal will be chosen from that litter. If there is more than one puppy or kitten, the remaining littermates must be given away or put up for adoption.
If you are adopting, choose a spirit animal immediately after aging up into a teen.
Your heir and their spirit animal must attain a full bond before the heir ages up into a young adult.

Generation 1: Founder
Your country has been experiencing a mass epidemic causing spirit animals to die of unknown causes. Knowing that you would be up against all odds, you decide to leave the life and land you know behind, to protect your precious spirit animal. When your spirit animal dies, a piece of your soul dies with it. You couldn’t let that happen. With nothing but the clothes on your back and your trusty SA (spirit animal), you travel to an unknown land with promises of a secure future. You find an unoccupied piece of land, and decide it will be your new homestead, and new beginning.
  • Move your founder and spirit founder to an empty lot. Choose wisely, all heirs must stay on this lot.
  • Option 1: Start with nothing. The lot may only have a mailbox, trash can, and a pet food dish
  • Option 2: Start with the money in your pocket. Build a modest home with the funds you start with in the game, or download a home from the gallery.
  • Your sim may not have a job, but can make money with photography, painting, writing, fishing, gathering, gardening, and breeding spirit animals (after married).
  • Your sim may not marry until it has an a full bond with their spirit animal, maxed training skill (dogs SA’s only), and an enclosed house with the aforementioned necessities.
  • Your spouse MAY bring in income when they move in. You may not cheat to give that household extra funds with the intent to marry an inherit cheat money. (naughty)
  • Have one child with your spouse (see heir rules above for exceptions)
  • In this land, spirit animals do not live as long as their human companions. After the spirit animal founder dies of old age, the heartbreak and shock is too much for your sim to handle and they lose a piece of their soul. Your sim ends their life.
  • After the spouse’s spirit animal dies, they vow to never own another animal, with the exception of the heir’s spirit animal.

Generation 2: Heartbreak never again
After watching your parent sacrifice so much just to have their treasured spirit animal pass away from old age, and then take their own life… you swore to never let another SA succumb to the same fate. The heartbreak was clearly too much to bear. Even before you inherited your spirit animal, you knew you wanted to be a Vet so you could develop a life-prolonging supplement to keep spirit animals young and healthy. Your commitment is to making sure not a single one of your successors feels the pain you and your parent felt after such a horrible loss.

Career: Veterinarian
  • Your sim dedicates their life to advancing veterinary technology and developing an anti-aging treat for spirit animals.
  • Open a vet clinic
  • Max logic skill
  • Max training skill (dogs only)
  • Get married once your clinic is at least 3 stars
  • Have one child only after maxing out the vet career.
  • Anti-aging treat is now available for this generation and all future generations. Once a spirit animal is close to aging up into an elder, give it an anti-aging treat to keep them in their youthful age. Once the human sim passes away, you may no longer give the spirit animal anti-aging treats. The spirit animal will live out the rest of its life span, as the spirit and representation of the human sim it was connected to, and pass away of old age. Your lot should have both a human and spirit animal cemetery. They can be seperate or sims can be next to their respective spirit animal.

Generation 3: Spirit Animals for Everyone!
Your parent’s passion for keeping spirit animals alive really rubbed off on you. You worship these animals like they created the ground you walk on! You decide to breed them so your house is always full of spirit furbabies. You take great joy in connecting spirit animal pups with humans! Your dream is to see this town become just like the one your grandmother grew up in. FULL of spirit animals. However, the local people don’t know a thing about real spirit animals! You decide to write a “nonfiction” book about how to properly care for spirit animals. A complete history and guide to the most amazing creatures...ever!!

Career: Writer or Social Media
  • Find a spouse and attain a spirit animal for them, make sure it’s a good one. It’ll be making lots of babies with your spirit animal!
  • Max charisma skill
  • Max Writing skill
  • Write the “Complete Guide to Spirit Animals” and keep a copy. Pass it down to the heir once “of age” (teenager). Pass down to each heir of every continuing generation.
  • Max training skill (dogs only)
  • After each litter is born, go out with each puppy one at a time and find a sim with similar personality traits. Transfer this puppy to that sim household (tip: edit their houses to ensure they have all the pet necessities) and add $1000 simoleons to your household. (kaching cheat)
  • Be sure to give you and your spouse’s spirit animal anti-aging treats

Generation 4: Spirit Animal Visionary
You were literally surrounded by baby spirit animals your entire life growing up. They brought so much light to your life. It was impossible to feel sad or down around them, and your understanding of their body language and personalities is unparalleled. It was hard to explain to people growing up why you love these animals so much. People have never really been your thing. So, you decided you would just… show them.

Career: Painter
  • Your sim dedicates themselves to mastering the arts so they can capture timeless moments of spirit animals that anyone could appreciate
  • Max Painting skill
  • Max Photography skill
  • Once available, only paint by reference (paint spirit animals)
  • Get married after painting skill is maxed
  • Have several litters and create a large collection of photos and paintings of the puppies
  • Make a masterpiece painting of the heirs spirit animal and hang it
  • Open an art gallery shop (Get to Work) and sell paintings and photos (can be done instead of Painter career, or after you retire).

(bonus gen)
Generation 5: Family Business (Get to Work Only)
You loved roaming your parent’s art gallery, looking in admiration at all of the beautiful spirit animals they captured in their artwork. You loved everything about your family really. You love having such a close connection with the coolest and sweetest creatures alive. These are lifelong companions now. The neighborhood is really starting to bloom with all the spirit animals, people need a place to purchase their supplies! Building off your parent’s art gallery, you open a fully-stocked pet supply store. You sell paintings, photos, pet supplies, and baby spirit animals! See how successful you can be as a businessperson and see how much money you can make!
