Bridgeport

I had stopped playing Bridgeport for a few months. I decided I missed it and wanted to play it again. I like the city life. Do you have a particular world or neighborhood you like to play or revisit?

I used to have Riverdale, but its no showing up anymore. I guess I'll have to download it again.

Sometimes, I'll play a blank world so I can place everything where I want it.

I like Bridgeport a lot, too. For the same reason as you - I enjoy the city life.

Though I also tend to to back to good ol' Sunset Valley for nostalgia seeing all the families there.

Sometimes I think I'd like a blank world, but it usually ends with halfway through editing it I get sick of it.

I started playing Bridgeport again, but the sims can stuck really easily and lags really bad when they do.

I do not like playing in Bridgeport that much but do like the townies and snag my favorites and let them live the country life.Seems every time I play in BP always pick the same lot under the bridge "Cabin Point".Only like having one or two apartment lots and always is simmerset apartment.Other than that will use Waylon's Haunt bar cause I really like it and think it fits most towns.

Just prefer Suburban life is personal taste nothing against the world itself.

For those not averse to using mods, NRaas Overwatch and ErrorTrap help to make Bridgeport much more playable. Sims not actively being played will still get stuck in elevators and in the darkened NPC-only areas of their LN apartment lots, but OW will reset them or (what I prefer) notify the player so we can focus on and fix whatever the problem is and/or reset them ourselves before the unroutable issues and ensuing lag take over. And OW resets all of the elevators in town overnight for extra measure.

Without mods yes, the world can lag to the point of distraction because of these things. And there are far too many venues for the local population to really have to choose from for many of us, but that's fixable if we go in and get rid of the ones we don't think we need.

It's not really the greatest world to play for those who prefer to concentrate on our own sims and not want to pay attention to the other town residents around them or undertake townwide reconstruction projects -- nothing wrong with that, it's just that we all have different play styles.

I love playing in Bridgeport, but Riverview is still my favorite. Not Riverdale, that's where Archie, Jughead, Betty, and Vernoica are from (comic books/cartoons). But clearly Archie's Riverdale was the inspiration for some of that world, we can see it in some of the pre-made townies. I'm almost positive that Maximus McDermott is meant to Archie himself, for example, and then we have Betty Simovitch. ;)

Dragon Valley would rank a close third as far as EA worlds go.

Edit: I see now that there is a popular looking custom designed TS3 world out there called Riverdale. Sorry, maybe this is the one being referred to rather than EA's Riverview?

Sound advice from igazor as always. The problem with Bridport for me is the elevators. No matter what, they are just glitchy. I often had to object reset the elevator in my sims apartment. Using mods from NRaas such as Overwatch, ErrorTrap, Traffic, GoHere, and Register helped out a lot. ellacharmed has a version of Bridgeport with some routing issues cleaned up and I meant to play with that version but ended up playing the default EA version. That was last year. I wanted to check out the world since it had been a few years and back then, I had an eMachine (not meant for simming at all). Much better experience but again, probably couldn't have done it without NRaas mods.

Back on topic... My all-time favorite is Lucky Palms. I have to stop myself from playing in that world because it's all I ever want to do. The premades, scenery, architecture, ports by the lake, and amount of empty flat land is what makes up LP for me. First and only world I ever paid full price for and I still say it's worth it. Plus... The Gold version adds a casino. The store eventually added a smaller casino set so you don't need LP: Gold. A friend from the old site gifted me the extra casino stuff so every now and then, I put together one big casino for my sims to visit.

@Scorpina2009 Building up an empty world is very ambitious. :)

@SimplyJen I have ellacharmed's Bridgeport. It doesn't eliminate the elevator issues, but it does eliminate the routing issues on the roads that aren't properly connected.

My favorite worlds to play in are my own CAW worlds, Crystal Falls, which is an edit of Sunset Valley, and Brighton, my edit of Appaloosa Plains. I have exactly what I want in them, and the community lots are organized realistically, not just plopped down wherever there is an empty lot, like the game does with the venues from the EP's. But of the EA worlds, Hidden Springs remains my favorite, because I love nature, and the natural scenery in HS is so beautiful. Maybe someday I should take it into CAW and rearrange things so I can get the lots I want in it, located where I would prefer them to be.

@IreneSwift I understand it wouldn't fix the elevators since it's the object causing the problem, not the world. I'm also aware of the routing fixes she applies to roads. Since I don't have the skills to fuss with CAW, I appreciate ellacharmed's fixes. :)

Do you have links to these towns of yours?

No, I don't share them, because they have lots made by other players, which I downloaded so long ago I don't remember where I got them. So I can't get their permission to share them with my worlds.
