JUNE 19 - It's Patch Day for The Sims 4 on PC/MAC Patch notes here.
Friday Highlights for June 15th are here! Head over here to check them out!

I need some help.

When I start to play the sims 3 and even when I download from the exchange it is in safe mode. Can someone tell me what can be causing this. My game comes up in safe mode after that it is fine. When I download anything it is in safe mode. Please help.

The game has a safe mode? Sorry, but I wonder if maybe something is getting lost in translation here. Might you be ending up in the game's tutorial somehow?

Usually we use "safe mode" to describe how Windows or the Mac OS is running when specially directed to do that at startup for troubleshooting purposes. Browsers also tend to have their own special safe modes, again for troubleshooting. But what you are you seeing in the game that's different from regular play mode when this happens?

Hello and thank you for answering me. when I download anything from the exchange the screen goes black and then it comes up with everything gigantic like in safe mode. It does this when I start my game. It has just recently started doing this. What could be causing this.

What have you got for a graphics card? Sounds like something is misfiring there, perhaps its graphics drivers need updating or the game (under Game Options) is set for a resolution that your monitor/system cannot handle or work with properly.

Edit: If you have no idea, a full dxdiag report might help us see something that's off-kilter.
    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/how-to-gather-dxdiag-information

You would have to paste the full report in by sections as it's far too long to fit into one or else send it up to pastebin.com and provide a link.

I have a nvidia geforce Gtx 750 graphics card. My resolution was set on 1400 x1050. I changed it to 1400 x 900. Do you think that will help?

It might depend on the native resolution of your monitor and whether you are playing full screen or in windowed mode. For me, this kind of thing becomes trial and error until I find a native screen and game resolution combo that just seems to work right.

I had to switch monitors. The game was real dark so I tried to set the brightness and all that. Do you think I messed something up? You are so computer savy. Could you explain what I need to do to set the monitor resolution?

@phoebebebe13 - Sorry for the double paging. Am I reading this right, the current monitor's native resolution is 1440x900(p)?

I don't think we are seeing enough of the dxdiag yet for all of the driver versions to have shown up, but that might be enough for someone else here to work with. And yes, I'm savy enough to know when two (or more) sets of eyes need to look something over before prescribing a course of action! ;)

They are not in native mode on resolution which is 1440x900 60 hz . The card is updated . I don't have windows 10 so if it's a windows 10 problem you need @chesterbigbird
