It appears to me that a recent patch has increased the footprint of the fishbowl. Those placed before the patch now clash with adjacent objects, don't work properly and generate LE errors when you move fish to or from them. I have tried my save without Mods/CC and I still get the problem. I can't test on a new save because, obviously, I can't place the fishbowl too close to another object to simulate the footprint change.
Has anyone else noticed this issue?
The fishbowls at the top of the image predate the footprint change. Those at the bottom of the image were placed as close as possible after the footprint change. The red fishbowls show the clashing case post the bigger footprint.

I haven’t got any placed fishbowls from before the patch to test, but when placing the fishbowls now, the same footprint that I can see in your photo is the same as in my game.

I tested it and it doesn’t say what is in the fishbowl. I do get the option to move the fish to the inventory. It doesn’t cause an error message in my game,

How were the fishbowls placed previously? Using MOO or Alt? In the screenshot above, the fish bowls in the top two rows don't seem to be aligned across.
We looked at previous versions of game and we don't see any difference in behavior.
I always get an LE Error when I put in or take out a fish. It doesn't matter what method I use to move the fish. I think the LE Error is generated by the absence of the tooltip which is supposed to appear to describe the fish. I am not sure why others are not seeing the LE Error even in the absence of the tooltip.
Thank you for the info . We're aware of the tooltip error (not sure yet if it's related to the footprint issue).
I didnt have any placement issues in build using alt, but do have a blank tooltip as well even after naming the fish in live. I also didnt get any errors on transferring the fish in and out of inventory that I can see.
Would you be willing to share that room or lot on the Gallery, so my team can take a look at it?
The room/lot is uploaded to my gallery under the username #cyclelegs . It is entitled 'Fishbowl Footprint Invest'. I rolled a new game and loaded the room onto an empty lot. From live mode, I entered build/buy mode and purchased a new fishbowl. Back in Live Mode, I clicked on the new fishbowl and purchased a fish. The fish was added to the bowl but generated an LE Error file in my sims 4 directory.
I hope it is of some use to you.
Thank you!
The issue with the missing tool tip has been fixed in today’s patch. It would be good to update your game
