I can't wait!! I'm so excited; adventuring is my jam! Too many cool things in the trailer to count. These game packs have been hitting it out of the park. @SimGuruNinja needs to marry me.
Oh no you didn't! *snaps fingers in a z-formation*
Oh yes I did! Hey, I did say I loved adventure. And skeletons and machetes and rope bridges and maps and display cases and and and! HYPE
I wish there was stuff for children to do since all I saw was adults
Me too. I'm still hoping there will be something for children and toddlers.
I hope too. But I'm not sure.
Why would there be? Far flung jungles with killer insects arent the most child friendly. If they come out with a casino pack that probably wont have much for kids either
I already got my adventuring crew ready! Most of them happen to be from the 25-Day Male CAS challenge funnily enough. Most of them though will be there just to partayyy!!!
This makes me wish we had a ticket booth to sell entry tickets to sims like the store object in TS3. Id die for my collector/adventure sims to be able to open a profitable museum that can fund my Sims' research. The present museums are super yawn.
My speculations on hints for future content:
-Cars Update
-Spiral/Diagonal Stairs Update
-Hotel Pack
-Romance Pack (possibly combined with Hotel Pack)
-Bands Pack
-Royalty Pack
-Fashion Design Pack
-Fairies Pack
-Werewolf Pack
-France-inspired World
Still waiting for evidence of rewards that aren't money or material objects, personally.
Looks like we can take a living skeleton home with us.
I’m not really sure what you’re after. I’m sure all the skills we can only learn in the jungle make for some reward for that Sim? Also learning the cultural dances?
We probably get a reward trait for completeinh the aspiration as well.
Unless we head into the supernatural realm there isn’t really any rewards I can think of that make sense for tomb raiding.

Such a thing would probably end up being "achievements" which i ignore as wholly pointless anyway. A part of my soul dies whenever i get that plum "played sims for such hours" achievement.

Either Latin, Salsa, Tropical, or Reggaeton? You know I don't care what this game pack has to do with something, I still want Latin! Anyone? I'm asking y'all nicely!
Reminds me of World Adventures. I hope we can remain friends with locals including calling them once we get back home.
That would be one long field trip if you invited them.
In Sims 3, you could invite sims from the countries over. That would be super cool.
You probably can with no problem since the vacation aspect probably works like in OR.
Also the entire game as a whole allows much more fluidity between worlds than TS3 did. That was more of a selling point in TS3 because once you chose a world you were stuck there in all other instances. If you couldnt invite people from there to your home, it would be the one world in TS4 thats completely isolated lmao

You know you're going to see Mortimer Goth as soon as you get there, so what does that tell 'ya.

A skeleton that is functionally identical to a maid, a dance that does nothing but look different and a skill that only has meaning within it's own bubble (a game pack vacation world you have no motivation to revisit once complete whilst the skill probably levels naturally with exploring) do not make for long-term gameplay. The skeleton and dance fail to introduce any new game mechanics to a Sim's everyday life, and the skill would likewise fail unless it has improvements that effect something other than the pack world/content directly.
I've given several examples before of what I mean. As I've said multiple times: Vampires and Parenthood are the best received packs thusfar. The common link between Vampires and Parenthood are that both reward Sims with new traits that alter what they can do, how they act around others and what they're capable of. A vampire can become "immune" to emotions, a responsible child climbs the career ladder exceptionally faster, a vampire can instantly seduce those around them and a well-mannered child sees huge boosts to how quickly they build relationships.
Those exact same kinds of bonuses need to be present here or I suspect reception for the pack would once again be mixed. Whether the reward be another fountain of youth, an artifact that can be traded to an employer for an instant promotion, or the ability to throw nests of deadly bees at other Sims to kill them, the point is our Sims need a long-term benefit that changes the way they can interact with the world.
Maybe this pack has that, maybe it doesn't, but so far they haven't shown such a thing.
Meh, Im not excited about this pack as other, but my lord they NAILED the music, I want that song so badly!! Also, the more "open" type world really brings me hope that we will have some type of horseback riding pack/world brought back. Imagine riding a horse through gorgeous landscapes like that or competing in show jumping/eventing . I love the new dance moves (have been wanting more since Get Together) and LOOVVVVVEEEEE the song and hope its included in the new radio station.
Any new harvestables? (Tropical stuff like coconut or pineapple?)
Any new fishes?
Is there a death by bees?
Is the cantina a new lot type?
Are there any residential/rentable lots in the jungle?
Are the tombs part of the world (public space) or an actual lot?
5 new yes/no questions. (The last one is open ended so I'll avoid it.)
ooh. This one is a little tougher. Okay, let's try...
A solid Yes to 2 questions.
I can't firmly answer No to the other 3, but maybe they aren't directly Yes.
"a dance that does nothing but look different"... HEAD DESK!!!
Well what else does it do?
You'll buy the pack, learn the dance, and enjoy watching the Sim perform the dance for about 5 minutes.
After that, we come to the realization it does absolutely nothing special (much like any of the new food dishes they've insisted on introducing since Dine Out) and we'll be bored with it.
That's what I'm saying: there's a difference between a 5-minute attraction and a long-term gameplay mechanic. A dance is not a gameplay mechanic.

But... but... that's the point. What else do you want a dance to do? Grow ostriches? No offense meant, it just struck me funny somehow.

Find love in the jungle? Marry a skelly?
It's the reason why I said ''I'm not sure''.

You could introduce the Selvadoreans to the Hermit of Granite Falls by meeting up at the Discotheque in Windenburg!
