Derek and Kendall hear the sounds of a baby crying as they awaken. They both hurry into the nursery and what a surprise. Not one, but two babies. They each pick up a baby and cuddle and comfort them. Alexandra and Jared stumble into the nursery after the late night delivery and see that the babies have fallen asleep. "I see you've met Jamie and Jade. You guys slept right through everything."
"We could hear a baby fussing this morning so we rushed in to see. Such a surprise to see two babies."
"Imagine our surprise during the night," laughs Jared.
Alexandra is on maternity leave and Jared takes paternity leave to help with the babies. Alexandra is breast feeding the babies and Jared will supplement with formula. They get the babies ready for the day and take them downstairs. The day revolves around taking care of babies, feeding, bathing them, rocking them, changing dirty diapers, playing with them and just watching and enjoying them.
Derek and Kendall leave for a few hours to do some exploring in Bridgeport. They visit the local museum and Derek who is a collector enjoyed seeing the art on display. They stopped at an open air concert park and watch a simfest. (invisible performers so no pictures) They found a bar and played pool upstairs and watched the sunset and changing colors of the sky viewed from the window. What a marvelous view of the city. Kendall talked Derek into singing at the karaoke machine.
The new crib arrives, a clever crib designed for twins so they can still be close. Jamie and Jade are settled in the crib. The exhausted new parents collapse into bed and fall asleep.
Jared wakes to the sounds of his son's cries. He can already distinguish the difference between Jamie and Jade when they are crying. Jamie cries with gusto and Jade has little hiccups in her cries. He hurries to the nursery so the cries do not wake up Alexandra. He pics his son up and cuddles him closely. Jared wants to make sure he is a hands on Dad and that his kids always know they are loved and wanted. He rocks Jamie and watches Jamie struggle to stay awake. The baby's eyes flutter and close, then fly open trying to not fall into dreamland. The soothing rocking motion relaxes both Dad and Jamie.
Alexandra comes in to check on the babies. Jared gives Jamie his bottle while Alexandra plays with Jade who is now awake. "Thanks for letting me sleep in this morning. I woke up when my cell pinged. I got a text from the director and he needs me to come in for some island shots. He knows I'm on maternity leave, but, he would like me to come in if at all possible. He said it would only be a few hours as he has all the sets ready and since I'm alone on the island I won't have to wait for other actors shots. What do you think?"
"We will be alright. I will miss you though and am sure the babies will as well. Derek and Kendall will be here if I need some help. It is only a few hours and it will be good for you to get out."
Alexandra texts the director and lets him know she will be at the studio shortly.
Alexandra goes to the kitchen to grab a bite of breakfast before going to the studio. She finds Derek cooking breakfast and did not know he could cook. "Would you like me to take over?" she asks Derek.
Derek shakes his head no. "I've got this. I'm a pretty good pancake cook. I can't cook much else, but my pancakes usually turn out pretty good."
"These are delicious!" Alexandra compliments Derek on his pancakes. She finishes up eating and changes her clothes and hurries to the studio. (I love this new hair I tried with her costume and may change Alexandra's style to it. May do it when her maternity leave is up.)
Jared gives his hungry daughter her bottle and burps her and then rocks with her. He puts her in the crib next to Jamie and both babies settle in for a nap. Jared decides he better take care of his own needs and takes off for the bathroom while the babies nap. He finishes his shower and is hungry. Before he can go downstairs, Jade starts crying and he goes to the nursery to find out what is wrong. She is ripe and he cleans her up, changes her diaper and she falls back to sleep. He turns on the baby monitor and quickly runs down the stairs to grab some breakfast.
Derek sits with him while he eats the pancakes. "I didn't know you could cook Derek. These are great."
"My one and only specialty. I'm glad to help out however I can. You know I sent out my resumes and I've heard back from several companies. I've ruled out two of them as they require too much travel and I don't want to be away from Kendall and you for extended periods of time. I did get a job offer from the business complex here in town. I will start off as a division manager since I've had experience working with the company in Roaring Heights. I hope to work my way up the corporate ladder."
"With your brains you will be the CEO in no time at all," Jared tells him.
"Well, this soon to be CEO needs to mop the floor and finish cleaning up the mess I made cooking this morning."
Jared checks on the babies and Jamie is awake. He picks him up and plays with him realizing very quickly that Jamie needs changing. He fixes him a bath and soon Jamie is having fun playing in the warm water. The hours fly by as Jared tends to both babies.
He is rocking Jamie when Alexandra returns home. She smiles seeing him rocking his son. She peeks at Jade who is sleeping again while Jared settles Jamie in the crib. Jared gives Alexandra a welcome home kiss. "We missed you! How did the filming go."
"I missed you guys too! The session went well. The writers have done a good job with the island story. I did not have many lines to learn since no one else is on the island, but, they do have me talking to myself. They will need more film for that part of the story, but, the rest can wait until the maternity leave is up."
They leave the nursery with the babies sleeping. The monitor is turned on so they can hear the babies. They cuddle on the couch until Kendall calls them into dinner. Kendall made spaghetti which is Alexandra's favorite. Kendall has also got a job. She has been accepted as an apprentice at the local diner and will start work later this week. @bekkasan At least Jared and Alexandra will have lots of help to look after the babies. I really like Alexandra's pajamas! Aw Jade's little bow is adorable. Kendall and Derek are having fun on their night out. Did Derek sing well at karaoke? . That crib looks awesome and such a space saver. I've never seen one that like before.
Jade's hiccup cries sound cute. Jared is a good husband to let his wife sleep while he takes care of the babies. The last thing Jared wants is for Alexandra to get stir crazy so I think it's good she gets out of the house for a bit. The director must need her urgently to have called suddenly. Derek's like me, I can't really cook much but I can make a mean pancake. Alexandra's post-baby body looks incredible! I really like her new hair too, it suits her face. I think Jared will find that his twins will take up most of his time, but I hope he is able to take care of himself too. It must be a real surprise that Derek cooked those pancakes. Derek seems like the kind to rise up quickly within the ranks. I'm sure he'll do great. It sounds like Alexandra is filming a sim version of Lost or Cast Away. Kendall is on her way to become a successful chef. Ahh finally the babies are asleep. Jared and Alexandra look so happy watching over their little ones
@coco Thanks for the comments. lol, Derek was terrible at singing, but he did get into the actions surprisingly. Kendall was not very good either but she is so enthusiastic and cute it makes up for that.
The crib is awesome, a nice space saver in small rooms for babies and toddlers fit in it too. It is available here if you want to check it out. I've had it in my game for a couple of years so I consider it a very safe piece.
Derek and Kendall's furnishings finally arrive from Roaring Heights. They spend the day arranging and rearranging furniture and finally they are both satisfied. To celebrate they relax in the hot tub. They both have different tastes, but somehow the combo seems to work. Derek likes to collect modern art and likes his furniture modern as well. His favorite color is grey and he prefers his furniture sleek and pristine. He wants only leathers, metals and plastique rather than woods.
Kendall on the other hand loves color in her world. She likes the modern look as well, with contrasting sharp and rounded shapes. They compromise very well and are both very satisfied with the results. They relax on the bed feeling very happy to have their personal belongings around them.
Kendall fixes breakfast for them and they sit at their new counter and talk about their plans for the day. Derek will officially start his job tomorrow, but has some meetings to attend today. Kendall is planning to take a cooking class offered at the diner to help advance her chances of quickly being promoted. She and Derek sit in their living area and watch a cooking program together before leaving. Derek is happy to be going back into the work force. He is disciplined and ambitious so is happier when busy and productive. (creator is not happy with the suit the game gave him, that will have to be changed)
Kendall invites Jared and Alexandra for dinner so they can see the finished rooms as well. They eat at the bar and enjoy fish and chips that Kendall has just learned to prepare. Derek cleans up after dinner while the ladies sit down on the leather sofa to chat. Derek challenges Jared to a chess match. Derek wins as usual, but was surprised by a few of the moves that Jared made. "You've been practicing. I'll have to watch you carefully or you will be beating me."
Kendall and Derek snuggle in bed, both having pleasant dreams. Derek is obviously happy to be back to work and Kendall must be ready to get married. (creator will have to work on that)
The babies are sound asleep in their cribs. No dreams for the babies.
Loved seeing the twins up close! They are adorable and cute. I'm glad that Kendall and Derek will be there to help out with their niece and nephew. I really like Derek and Kendall's furniture and you're so right, though their styles are different, the blend works really well. Looking forward to the next chapter!!!! Thanks for sharing...

Alexandra decides she better start working out to get that pre baby figure back. She loves dancing and pops her ipod on, selects some music and practices her dancing. She was able to get in some quality dance time before the babies awakened.
The babies wake up and Alexandra gets Jade ready for the day while Jared gets Jamie ready. Jade enjoys the swing, while Jamie is in the bassinet. Jared has a few errands to run and he explains to Alexandra that he plans to run by the studio while he is out and work for a few hours editing his current film project. He does not like relying on the studio editors. He prefers to do it himself. Alexandra kisses him goodbye and checks on the babies.
She decides the babies need to hear some music. She starts strumming her guitar and singing to the babies. Jamie and Jade coo and burble and smile happily while she makes her music.
Kendall works out on the treadmill before leaving for her new job. She is starting at the bottom as a lowly kitchen scullion, washing up pots and pans, emptying trash and scrubbing and peeling potatoes. She plans to rise quickly and eventually have her own restaurant competing with the best chef's in all Simland. (I love that the game left her big hoop earrings on with her work outfit. I rather imagine that would not be allowed in a real kitchen, but I think it is cute, so leaving it. I'm not sure who the sim is in front but she has the same basic hair color as Kendall. Kendall is the sim with the hoops. )
Derek has his first official day at work. (He has a new suit courtesy of the creator who could not look at him in the EA outfit one more time) He is happy to have his car back (yes, grey is his favorite color) and he drives it to work rather than relying on the car pool ride. He has several accounts that he has inherited from his predecessor. He has reviewed them thoroughly and finds several areas that can be improved upon and schedules meetings with the appropriate personal to discuss strategy and the changes needed to benefit the accounts. He is energized being back at work wheeling and dealing and ready to climb the corporate ladder.
Jared gets home from work and plays with Jade while Alexandra takes Jamie for a stroll.
Kendall brought some fish and chips home from work and they enjoyed a delicious dinner after the babies were played with and put to bed.
Kendall is checking out the clothes in the closet....or is she?
Alexandra is soaking her sore muscles in a bubble bath. Jared sits on the side of the tub and they talk about how the days have flown by since the babies were born. The babies birthday is tomorrow and they plan a small celebration for just the family.

Alexandra is up early baking birthday cakes after she and Jared get the twins ready for their big day. Jared takes the babies for a stroll while Alexandra bakes. Alexandra tastes the batter and it is yummy. She finishes baking and decorating the cakes and sets them aside until time for the birthday.
Kendall has to work at the diner, so they hold the party early enough that she can celebrate with them. Jamie is the eldest twin so Alexandra helps him blow out the candles first. She is amazed with all the hooting and clapping and zingers and whistles blowing that Jamie is so calm and not crying up a storm. In the blink of an eye and flashing lights Jamie becomes a cutie pie toddler. Jared pics him up and snuggles him close loving his little boy even more if that is possible.
It is Jade's turn and she is just as calm as her brother was. She has a sweet smile on her face enjoying being the center of attention. Kendall has changed her clothes as it is almost time for her to go to work. (creator had to stop the push to send her 3 hours early!) Alexandra helps her blow out the candle and soon the lights flash and swirl and Jade becomes an adorable toddler. Jared picks up his daughter, snuggles her close, tickles her and makes her laugh. He also loves his daughter more than he thought was possible.
Kendall has rushed off to work and the others enjoy a slice of birthday cake. The twins play peekaboo, laughing and pretending to be scared.
Jared cleans up the dinning room and kitchen. Derek picks up Jamie and plays a few games with him. Alexandra feeds and rocks her daughter. Kendall snags a piece of birthday cake when she gets off work.
The household quietens down after a fun and lovely day celebrating the twins birthday.
@bekkasan LOL Sims don't lose their figures after birth but if it makes Alexandra feel better to work off the imaginary baby fat, go for it

@ZeeGee Thank you! I pause the game, take them into stylist, fix the hair and clothes to what I want and then take pictures with the pretty stuff on them. I don't show what the game puts them in because I don't consider that part of my story. Jamie actually got that long hair and Jade got that short cut with the bow. The both had no shirt on and Jamie had on the long pants and Jade shorts.
My hubby is a hairy dude!

Jared and Alexandra start teaching the twins their basic skills. It is not all work though, lots of fun and games as well as learning. Alexandra calls her Mom and Dad and lets them listen to Jamie as he plunks away on the xylophone. She sent video's and pictures of the twins birthday party and they chat about how adorable the toddlers are and who looks like who. They both enjoy strolling with the twins and Jamie and Jade both seem to love being outside in the sunshine.
Derek calls Jared and Alexandra into the dining room. "You guys need a night out. I've made reservations for you at the Bistro. Kendall and I will stay home with the twins."
Jared and Alexandra give Derek hugs and thank him. Derek slips Jared the keys to his car. "Man, you gotta quit driving that clunker of yours, take her out in style in my car."
Jared laughs, "I love my car, but, I will enjoy taking her out in your fancy car."
Alexandra and Jared quickly change and dress up for their night out. Jared helps Alexandra into the car and they set off for their date.

I loved seeing the twins age up...they are so adorable! Derek's car is nice, but I like that Jared doesn't care about nice cars. I remember when my daughter was a toddler, leaving her for an evening out was so hard and always punctuated by many phone calls. The first time I left her with someone else, I cried. Thanks for sharing, I loved reading these chapters.

She and Derek sit in their living area and watch a cooking program together before leaving. Derek is happy to be going back into the work force. He is disciplined and ambitious so is happier when busy and productive. (creator is not happy with the suit the game gave him, that will have to be changed)
Kendall invites Jared and Alexandra for dinner so they can see the finished rooms as well. They eat at the bar and enjoy fish and chips that Kendall has just learned to prepare. Derek cleans up after dinner while the ladies sit down on the leather sofa to chat. Derek challenges Jared to a chess match. Derek wins as usual, but was surprised by a few of the moves that Jared made. "You've been practicing. I'll have to watch you carefully or you will be beating me."
Kendall and Derek snuggle in bed, both having pleasant dreams. Derek is obviously happy to be back to work and Kendall must be ready to get married. (creator will have to work on that)
The babies are sound asleep in their cribs. No dreams for the babies.

The double crib is amazing. And that crafty pattern is one of my favorites now. The maker of it did a really good job. It looks 3D! I'm grabbing some more of her patterns.

Okay, back to The Prequel. That was a nice break.
Time flies
Alexandra decides she better start working out to get that pre baby figure back. She loves dancing and pops her ipod on, selects some music and practices her dancing. She was able to get in some quality dance time before the babies awakened.
The babies wake up and Alexandra gets Jade ready for the day while Jared gets Jamie ready. Jade enjoys the swing, while Jamie is in the bassinet. Jared has a few errands to run and he explains to Alexandra that he plans to run by the studio while he is out and work for a few hours editing his current film project. He does not like relying on the studio editors. He prefers to do it himself. Alexandra kisses him goodbye and checks on the babies.
She decides the babies need to hear some music. She starts strumming her guitar and singing to the babies. Jamie and Jade coo and burble and smile happily while she makes her music.
Kendall works out on the treadmill before leaving for her new job. She is starting at the bottom as a lowly kitchen scullion, washing up pots and pans, emptying trash and scrubbing and peeling potatoes. She plans to rise quickly and eventually have her own restaurant competing with the best chef's in all Simland. (I love that the game left her big hoop earrings on with her work outfit. I rather imagine that would not be allowed in a real kitchen, but I think it is cute, so leaving it. I'm not sure who the sim is in front but she has the same basic hair color as Kendall. Kendall is the sim with the hoops.
Derek has his first official day at work. (He has a new suit courtesy of the creator who could not look at him in the EA outfit one more time) He is happy to have his car back (yes, grey is his favorite color) and he drives it to work rather than relying on the car pool ride. He has several accounts that he has inherited from his predecessor. He has reviewed them thoroughly and finds several areas that can be improved upon and schedules meetings with the appropriate personal to discuss strategy and the changes needed to benefit the accounts. He is energized being back at work wheeling and dealing and ready to climb the corporate ladder.
Jared gets home from work and plays with Jade while Alexandra takes Jamie for a stroll.
Kendall brought some fish and chips home from work and they enjoyed a delicious dinner after the babies were played with and put to bed.
Kendall is checking out the clothes in the closet....or is she?
Alexandra is soaking her sore muscles in a bubble bath. Jared sits on the side of the tub and they talk about how the days have flown by since the babies were born. The babies birthday is tomorrow and they plan a small celebration for just the family.

Yes, that is hair on his back. I like hairy dudes! Some of the hair I have is better than others. I don't like the one that gives more....it is too much.

Happy Birthday Jamie and Jade
Alexandra is up early baking birthday cakes after she and Jared get the twins ready for their big day. Jared takes the babies for a stroll while Alexandra bakes. Alexandra tastes the batter and it is yummy. She finishes baking and decorating the cakes and sets them aside until time for the birthday.
Kendall has to work at the diner, so they hold the party early enough that she can celebrate with them. Jamie is the eldest twin so Alexandra helps him blow out the candles first. She is amazed with all the hooting and clapping and zingers and whistles blowing that Jamie is so calm and not crying up a storm. In the blink of an eye and flashing lights Jamie becomes a cutie pie toddler. Jared pics him up and snuggles him close loving his little boy even more if that is possible.
It is Jade's turn and she is just as calm as her brother was. She has a sweet smile on her face enjoying being the center of attention. Kendall has changed her clothes as it is almost time for her to go to work. (creator had to stop the push to send her 3 hours early!) Alexandra helps her blow out the candle and soon the lights flash and swirl and Jade becomes an adorable toddler. Jared picks up his daughter, snuggles her close, tickles her and makes her laugh. He also loves his daughter more than he thought was possible.
Kendall has rushed off to work and the others enjoy a slice of birthday cake. The twins play peekaboo, laughing and pretending to be scared.
Jared cleans up the dinning room and kitchen. Derek picks up Jamie and plays a few games with him. Alexandra feeds and rocks her daughter. Kendall snags a piece of birthday cake when she gets off work.
The household quietens down after a fun and lovely day celebrating the twins birthday.

@ZeeGee Thank you! I pause the game, take them into stylist, fix the hair and clothes to what I want and then take pictures with the pretty stuff on them. I don't show what the game puts them in because I don't consider that part of my story.

Toddler Fun and Date Night
Part 1
Jared and Alexandra start teaching the twins their basic skills. It is not all work though, lots of fun and games as well as learning. Alexandra calls her Mom and Dad and lets them listen to Jamie as he plunks away on the xylophone. She sent video's and pictures of the twins birthday party and they chat about how adorable the toddlers are and who looks like who. They both enjoy strolling with the twins and Jamie and Jade both seem to love being outside in the sunshine.
Derek calls Jared and Alexandra into the dining room. "You guys need a night out. I've made reservations for you at the Bistro. Kendall and I will stay home with the twins."
Jared and Alexandra give Derek hugs and thank him. Derek slips Jared the keys to his car. "Man, you gotta quit driving that clunker of yours, take her out in style in my car."
Jared laughs, "I love my car, but, I will enjoy taking her out in your fancy car."
Alexandra and Jared quickly change and dress up for their night out. Jared helps Alexandra into the car and they set off for their date.

I know I would have liked a night off when I was a mother to a toddler - but then again, maybe not, because I would have had separation anxiety! LOL
