Toddler is a suspect?!?!

My level 8 detective is on the look out for a suspect and everyone is pointing him to the only toddler in the area. I was sceptical at first because there was no possible way, but then I see the tiny tot glitch into a monstrosity and do the usual 'shifty eyes'. ... I mean, really? I can't even arrest this kid, let alone get onto her for making a mess. What am I supposed to do now?

Perhaps the sims are trying to stop you from arresting one of them,who is the actual suspect by trying to direct the attention onto the toddler? It may help to have your sim leave work early, then come back the next day and see if the issue remains.
You could also have your sim quit the career. Then rejoin the career and use cheats to restore them to the same career level.
