Game won’t launch

Not sure why but all of a sudden the game won’t launch. I have the game pinned to my taskbar and every time I click on it, it just opens Origin instead. Tried launching it through Origin, still nothing. Tried repairing the game, nothing. I’ve been trying a fix I found online which was to move the whole sims 4 folder from program files, launch Origin, then move the folder back but it keeps saying I can’t do this because the game or files for the game are open somewhere else, which they aren’t. So, anyone know how to solve this?

Still nothing happens when I click the desk top icon. Today I got the login prompt for Origin, but after filling in my stuff, nothing happened...
I simply can't access Origin, and I can't access my game. What do I do?
No mods except a few CAS items.
I do, but I haven’t added a single new mod before this started happening.
Move your whole mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and test to see if that helps the issues.
If the issues still remain, repairing the game may help. To do that, go to games library in Origin, right click on the sims 4 picture and click repair
Try turning off origin in-game and see if that helps. To do that, go,to Game Library in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture. Click on “Game Properties”. Then untick the box that enables origin in-game
Try starting the game in windowed mode
