i am trying to breed my two dogs (different genders) but every time i do it they start growling at each other and all around hate each other. my sim has full friendship with both the dogs, i have open slots for the future puppies and the female dog is in heat. i have tried in different game files but it never works they always hate each other (its different dogs in the different game files) i have also tried with the same dog to breed with different males but she hates them to.
I had my female cat Spayed and she just had kittens.....? Whats that about? Ended up having to delete the kittens from the household (shich made me very sad). This happen to anyone else?
@ChrystalRubin , thanks for the info! I didn't know they put "in heat" in the game! I also didn't know that puppies can't play!!! Um... in real life almost the only thing puppies do is play! Do you know if this bug exists with kittens?
Nah, kittens can play, with a laser pointer and with a special cat feather toy.

The same thing is happening to me! I have a male and female dog that always growl at each other every single time I encourage them to mate/breed and it just never works out. They act like they're going to breed/mate but then they growl at one another and my sim gets the 'Pet Rejection' buff. I've tried this even when they were both 'in heat' and no such luck. I'm wondering if it has something to do with my male dog running away. Ever since he came back, the female dog doesn't seem to recognize that he ever came back.

So glad to see I'm not the only one having problems. This must be an actual bug. My household conists of a couple and two dogs one male and one female so plenty of room for puppies. I have seen the dogs do the hearts animation and lick faces but there is no option at all for encourage to mate with even though all relationships are maxed out. The dogs also seem to like each other a lot! They are sim versions of my actual dogs who are super sweet to each other so it's cute to watch sim-them behave the same way. Hoping this gets fixed soon as my own dogs are both spayed/neutered so having puppies in the sims is the only way I can fill this void!!!
Hi, I was having this problem too. My dogs were afraid of something but I couldn't figure out what. I done the following steps then asked my dogs to breed and it announced more or less straight away she was pregnant.
1. Enable testing cheats by opening the console (Control+Shift+C and typing in testingcheats on) 2. Get the SimID by the pet affected by the bug by typing in the command sims.get_sim_id_by_name FirstNameofPet LastNameofPet 3. Write down the sim ID written in the console, it'll be a 19 character long string 4. Remove all moodlets from your pet by typing in sims.remove_all_buffs SimID, e.g. sims.remove_all_buffs 1052442116385935975

@Ruby5662 , The same thing happened to me and a message said my cat Waffle had been rejected and my human Sim got a "sad" moodlet from this!
@caitlinsmummy06 I will try that but I haven't been getting any options for my sims to encourage the pets to interact with each other. Also I am confused as to how the training works, I don't have a "training" option in the interactions to teach my dogs to sit. Only options I have for training are "teach fetch" when I pick up a ball. One of my dogs has learned how to heel but i didn't teach her this.
Will get back into the game tonight and try a few of the suggestions, have been busy building my real life house over the weekend haha.
So I just jumped into the game quickly after "repairing" it and I completely removed my mods folder and deleted all caches and I am still stuck. My pets are also constantly in the red (they are uncomfortable or scared) so I wonder if this has something to do with it? No matter what I do, keep the house clean, keep socialising with them, bathing them, feeding them, taking them for walks, they are very rarely happy. For a brief moment the training options appeared for one of my pets but then vanished. This is extremely frustrating, I was so stoked for this expansion but now I think it will be the last time I ever spend money on a Sims game and I have been a fan since the days of Sims 1!
I finally got my cat pregnant, she was supposed to give birth to twins, however everyone t posed and no cat was born. I left the lot, and it showed one of the two kittens was born, i went back home and the kitten looks nothing like the parents. it has a bob tail and is white with orange ears and feet.

I'm really frustrated! I keep trying to have my male and female dog in the same household mate. They go up to each other and do so but the female never concieves!!! I've tried the sim ID cheat thing with testingcheats true but it still doesnt help!
I really do appreciate all of these suggestions but we really shouldn't have to resort to such complex actions when a game we have paid for should be perfectly playable! The sims 3 wasn't even this bad, at least we had more options on how to play with sims 3 pets (farms and horse breeding etc). I'm sorry but giving us 200+ breeds (which lets face it are just body shapes) doesn't make this the biggest expansion ever. It feels so lackluster compared to previous pet expansions. I don't care how pretty the neighbourhoods are, I want gameplay not more non-interactive scenery.

I'm having the same issue where telling them to be nice to each other doesn't do anything, they don't go near each other. And breeding they growl at each other, somtimes it greys out saying to check back for puppies/kittens, but within a few sim minutes it's gone and the sim has the "rejected mating" moodlet.

My dog actually managed to get pregnant, but then when the notification popped up that she was going into labour, nothing happened. She just kept doing what she was doing, my Sim didn't respond, nothing. I wasn't on my home lot but rather on my vet lot, but taking the dog home didn't do anything either. I restarted the game, with an earlier save, she got pregnant again, and the same thing happened. I reset my dog as well with the resetsim cheat, to no avail. Has anyone else had this problem? (PS I run a full vanilla game without mods or CC)

Apparently I was just watching LGR review that cats and dogs can automatically mate when they are 'in heat' depending the chances without being ask by the owner
I don't know if this is true or not. By I did encourage my cat to mate another cat but she didn't like other cat. Might be a case of incompatible traits.

Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.
Try deleting the cache files and see if that helps
